CAG Trader Ratings now up and running! DO NOT POST HERE UNTIL YOU READ THIS!

Cheapy, I'm going to E-mail out my spreadsheet in a few minutes. It was a lot easier to do than I expected, and I found out my rating should actually be 19 instead of 18.

Edit: I'm a dummy! I counted line #1 on the spread sheet.....18 is right!
So, the four character limit prevents me from searching for my username... :?

Is there any other easy way to find my feedback? Cause I really don't want to dredge through all four threads!
Rig, if you want, I'll do yours and you can do mine. Fair trade? ;)
That sucks. Just have Cheapy knock down the character limit to 3 for you. :D
Sorry, even if I could, that wouldn't work.
I'd have to rebuild the entire search database which takes about 7 hours (read: not going to happen). Sorry.

Common Excel Mistake #1: Counting the column headers at data.

Doesn't make you a dummy, trust me on this.

Well, since I'm sure I've never seen you trade anything before, I guess that means you're a total n00b to the trading board...so sure! That sounds like a great idea! :D

Awww... Damn me and my short ass username!

Well, looks like I'm going to start from scratch then. There's no way in holy hell that I'm going to delve into the feedback forums...

Rig, if it really comes down to it, I'll go do it for you. I don't want you to get stiffed out of feedback because you can't search on your short ass username.

Nah, that's okay. I wouldn't want you to have to go through all of that either...

Is there any plan to bring over the negative/neutral feedback that has been left to this point? I'm sure anyone that does their sheet will not be including that (why would you?) Knowing the positives someone has is nice, but the negs and neutrals are what really let you see what a trader is(n't) worth.

If not maybe we should put some kind of disclaimer somewhere on the main page that imported feedback ratings will generally not include any neutral or negative feedback that was left, so trader beware.

I just did Trakan's, I'd be happy to do yours.

I think there's a plan to put the neg's aside in some way, though not sure about the neutrals.

That does raise an interesting point, since everyone's doing their own feedback, how can we enforce people putting in the negatives and neutrals? Have the mods do it, since there shouldn't be a huge number between the two, maybe a couple dozen. Might take a while to find 'em, though. Just because we're doing our own feedback doesn't mean we should be able to let the people with neutrals and negatives drop them because they "forgot" to do it.

:notworth: Okay shrike...and thanks! If it is too much trouble, then don't worry about it...

Maybe we can check to the feedback when they submitted it to see if they are suppose to have a neutral or negative. I don't think many users have either or so checking this shouldn't be too hard.

The check could be a quick search for a 0 or a -1 in the Excel sheet, and then eyeball the tally thread looking for * or # symbols next to their name.

From a guess on the last tally update, there's less than a dozen users with a negative. Maybe a dozen and a half with neutrals, and there's a little overlap between the two groups.

Checking the feedback is a good idea, though with the volume that Cheapy might have to do, it might be better to have a separate done by one of the mods just for the neutrals and negs.
Yeah, I think maybe Trakan and Punq can get a little extra work with that one. :D
Might be punq, Trakan or me. :D

I just think it's the mods' responsibility to make sure that the people with neutrals and negs get into the feedback system, so people know that they need to approach with caution, or just run the other direction, depending on what happened. Otherwise, it'll be their problem when someone gets into a mess with someone over a funny/bad trade.

Once it's all said and done, and the new system is in place, I can just go in and add the neutrals and negs if that's alright with Cheapy. Wouldn't be much work, maybe 30 total feedback.

The easiest way would probably create a "dummy account" maybe named..."Old
Feedback System" or something (or maybe get cagbot out of retirement), and then have that account leave the negative/neutral feedback.

How does that sound?

How about the "CheapyD Mighty Fist Of Justice" account? "CheapyD's Can Of Whoopass"?

Yes, a dummy account to leave the feedback is a good idea.

Ok... At first I said "fuck this" but then I figured out how to do this quickly.

So here's how. Every feedback thread has like a million posts right...

So do this.

Go to Advanced Search.

type in your name or a portion of your name surrounded by astericks. for example: *phrost*

At least 300 replies.

Show results as: posts.

Done!

Actually, 35 posts x ~100-something pages, so ~3500+ posts per thread. 3 threads with 100+ pages, so that's around 11,000 posts, plus the 4th thread at 40+ pages, so you're talking about 12,000+ posts to search through. :D

I'll do yours if you do mine, Phrost. :D

Hm... I already did mine earlier today... How many do you have? 274? I might do that if it's only the first 3 columns. For my own thing.. I filled out every column.

hi guys. i was just wondering how do i find out my user id and also ids of people i traded with?..i looked through my profile page and around the members page but found nothing.
Hm... I already did mine earlier today... How many do you have? 274? I might do that if it's only the first 3 columns. For my own thing.. I filled out every column.
Oh, I've done ones for Trakan and silverandcold so far, though I've yet to do my own.

Yes, for me, I'm doing own, all 274 of them. And fill out every column, too. My feedback, no reason to inflict that on someone else. :D

Is there anyway to let people know that you've received their XLS Cheapy? I think I sent mine a week or so ago, but I can't remember if I actually e-mailed it or just created the XLS.

Cheapy that test forum is just a test forum right? All the feedback will be erased once we switch over? Cuz I already used the test forum to post feedback about a trade I did :(
Well looks like I'm done here, I don't have the time to do any of this or else I would. Nice while it lasted.
It's not that bad, especially when you have it all gathered up in your signature already.

Uh, it looks like you already have a link to all of your feedback in your sig. It'd probably take you like 5 minutes.

Anyway, if someone leaves me feedback after I e-mail my spreadsheet in, can I send in a new updated XLS by the end of the month or do I loose that feedback if I can't convince them to re-enter it under the new system?
Well looks like I'm done here, I don't have the time to do any of this or else I would. Nice while it lasted.
Dropped you a PM, offering assistance.
Uh, it looks like you already have a link to all of your feedback in your sig. It'd probably take you like 5 minutes.
The links go to CAG in phpBB form, which now just links to cheapassgamer.com.

Those links won't work, but that would've been a good idea.
Yes, all the feedback will be reset....
So should we just wait until the system is done before leaving feedback. Me and xboxhardcore.com just got done with a trade and don't know what to do.

WOOT WOOT! i just e-mailed cheapyd my feedback form hehe. it took less than 5 minutes b/c i only have 26 positives and i only filled up column's A, B and C.

EDIT: this is the method i used to do it so quickly:

1) download the feedback form

2) do a search for your username in the tradeback forum and have it list as posts, not topics

3) look down the posts and see which one's are positive feedback

4) move the mouse cursor over the name of the person that left you the positive. this'll show you his/her user id. (this is the part that'll make it easy for you b/c the search will show everybody who has typed in your name in the trading thread. you can just look down the thread and switch back and forth from the CAG webpage and excel.)

5) fill in column A with your user id, fill in column B with the id of the person who left you feedback. fill in column C with the number that represents what you received.

hopefully this helps persuade the peeps who are too lazy or are too intimidated to make this simple feedback form excel sheet. g'luck everybody!

That works well for everyone with at least four letters in their username! ;)

Yeah, blame your short-ass username. I know.

I'm going to try and work on yours this weekend, Rig. ;)
