CAG Warhawk Night [TBD]

Although I was only there for the first 3/4 matches it was good, too bad I had to head out though. I've suggested it before but I'd prefer a Sunday CAG Warhawk night, not sure what everyone else thinks about it but either way, it's all good haha.

The CAG server/game. I attempted to join about 10 times thru out the night and kept getting "unable to join" after inputting the password(password was correct). I was able to join other non-cag games.

is KSC2-303 (same as my psn name) from Japanese cult film "Versus". This was director: Ryuhei Kitamura's break out film. Kitamura did the fight cinematography and choreography for Metal Gear Twin Snakes.

I don't think I want to split up our regular game nights for Omega Dawn haves/have nots if thats what you are implying in your post Mana.

Although maybe a having a few rounds of Omega Dawn after our normal rotation might be a good way to avoid splitting things up.

Like if we had Omega Dawn afterwards, we'd start a game called "CAG_Clan" and do the normal round (or maybe just play for an hour, like do 5 rounds instead of 8). Then the host kills off the game and creates another called "CAG_OmegaOnly" or something, and have that go for an hour or so.

This was a terrible movie. But terrible in a sort of awesome way.

Pretty much. When they're not brandishing their weapons ridiculously and shooting their infinite ammo guns, everyone just stands around posing and talking really slowly. I loved how whenever the main character had to leave a scene, he'd spin around and do the dramatic trenchcoat flourish thing.

It's kind of like a Japanese Equilibrium.
 
Versus is a style-over-substance homage to other films. You can see the influences from other films: gritty yakuza films, chanbara , tokusatsu, wuxia, Hong Kong/John Woo gun play, Dead Alive, Evil Dead, George Romero, ect. Just don't be expecting "Citizen Kane".
 
If you want to discuss that clip, do it elsewhere, not my thread. ;) If ya continue, I might have to remove ya'll from the clan. :p

Anyway, I will NOT be able to host next week, just to let everyone know. Actually, I might not even attend Warhawk night, so if only those who have the Omega pack want to play, then it can be strictly that. Friends of mine (Yes, friends in real life for once) want to play fighting games, so I might join them next Friday night. On 2/22 or 2/23 though, I will be hosting the server.
 
What's up with the rank advancement in this game? I have enough points to get to the rank after Airman (500 points) but I haven't ranked up yet. Do I have to do something else besides get the points to rank up?

You'll need to earn a badge before you gain the rank. I don't know exactly which one, but it'll be a Bandit-level badge (most likely for a weapon). Practice with said weapon, and once you get a certain number of kills in a single match, you'll be a rank higher. It shouldn't be too difficult if you put your head into it. Though that darn Warhawk Recruiting did give me some trouble. By the time I got it, I almost had enough points for the next rank!

EDIT: You need Bandit Teamwork, which requires 30 team points. Play in some Zones or CTF games, and you'll have it in no time!

Weird. I got 30 team points in a game and I didn't get the badge. It was a team deathmatch. Am I doing something wrong?

Hey all CAG Warhawk members,

Warhawk night is quickly approaching in two days and we need to decide what we will do very shortly?

Should be have an Omega Dawn Expansion games for a short time? And if so, what time should they be at?

Also, someone needs to host Warhawk night this week because I'm not at home this weekend and I plan to probably go out Friday night to a fighter event (if the weather isn't bad). Next week on the other hand, I WILL host.

I hope to get things going because I'll look into messaging several people on PSN letting them know about Warhawk night (well, maybe this week for the Omega pack. Next week to try to get as many people to show up as possible).
 
I'll be honest, I'm not into the Omega Dawn expansion. Don't like the Omega Dawn map and the dropship is uninspiring so for me I'd rather not play the expansion.

Anyway I think this friday will be a COD4 night for me, so I probably won't be able to host or participate. Sorry lads. But if that falls through I'll definitely be there.

As for Omega Dawn, I don't have it and I'm not interested in it. If there's a part of the rotation dedicated to it, it makes more sense to put it at the end so the expansion owners can just stay on. If it were at the beginning it would be hard to tell when the normal maps start and when to join.

Anyway, I'm thinking we'll play regular Warhawk for 6 matches on Friday, then go to Omega Dawn for 3-4 matches.
 
Mana Knight's a CAG celeb =P. I got Friday off so I should be able to stay for the whole game this time instead of just a couple of matches, haha, probably gonna be hungover after Valentine's Day but it should be gone by the time I start up Warhawk. I've been craving some Warhawk gaming, I only ever play it on CAG nights so I never get to level up =/.
 
Hmm... I might be able to make it tomorrow night, probably not though. I need to get in on one of these at some point though.
 
If Josh (Thelonicon) can host, we will have Warhawk night this week. If not, I'll try seeing if anyone can host, or else we'll have to delay a match until next week.

Yeah I can host. I may or may not be able to play (I have family stopping in tomorrow afternoon/evening on their way to visit more family). At the very least I'll be able to set up a server and get it going even if I don't play.

As far as Omega Dawn goes I'll set like maybe the last 2 games for that and make the first 6 regular Warhawk matches. I'm not sure does anyone know if people who don't have omega dawn can join a server for only the nonexpansion matches? Or will I have to disconnect the server and start it back up?

I'm in the same boat as you GodlyOne. I pretty much only play on CAG night, because it seems whenever I join servers randomly there is always some jerk going around doing teamkills.
 
I'll tell you what, if you setup a server and leave, just make it 8 regular matches.

We'll look into Omega Dawn later (I still need to figure out who has it).
 
Well I don't have OD, nor will I unless it becomes real cheap or most of the clan regulars get it.
If we have a match I'll try and be there!
 
Yeah, I'm in the population of CAGs that don't have the Omega Dawn expansion, I'll have to wait for the PSN cards. I agree with you Josh, too many asses out there ruin online gaming for me, that's why I like to play online games with other CAGs, there's a better sense of teamwork during our CAG Warhawk sessions.
 
Yeah, for me Omega Dawn just isn't worth it yet. If Omega Dawn is seriously implemented in CAG Warhawk night I'll probably get it.
 
I don't have Omega Dawn, but I'm ready to play tonight...lol, right now I still suck at the game. I'm too used to playing Call of Duty 4, so I'm good on the ground, not as good in the air.
 
I lost track of all the differerent Warhawk threads so I'm just posting this here: There's a ton of new info on the 1.3 patch over at PSBlog, and it sounds AWESOME. Most significantly, they're adding a wrench and a "bio-field generator" which will allow you to heal vehicles and allied troops, respectively. (They also will damage enemy vehicles and troops.) I'm a huge Battlefield fan and I was always sad that this support aspect was missing from Warhawk, so I'm very excited about this.

They also announced an open mic VOIP option instead of the current PTT, and explained some of the integration with Home.

Hey guys, pretty good set of games tonight. Sadly I had to step away unexpectedly, but oh well.

I went and re-read the post on Warhawk 1.3 and Dylan Jobe (the director) is actually pretty active in the post's comments. He spills some interesting details on the new equipment.

Also, a couple commenters mention rumors of a new expansion called "Broken Mirror," and then the ASCII at the end of the post itself links to an image of a broken mirror. Pretty curious. Dunno if anyone's heard about this already, but it's news to me. Here's hoping it's more compelling than Omega Dawn.
 
Hey everyone, how did the match go? I greatly apologize for not being there because I actually went out for a change, socialized and play fighters (and some other games) with friends and met new people in college.

Next week, I will host Warhawk night for you all and will be there. Sorry I couldn't be there.

Update 1.3 sounds awesome. :D
 
I think the games went fine. I didn't really play in many, but I left the server on after the regular 8 game rotation and a large number of people stayed on for the next 3 matches or so. I just shut the server down (at 11:45 or so) and when I did we still had people playing. Mana, here is the list of people who showed up but aren't in the clan yet:
