CAG Warhawk Night [TBD]
You still going to send me that?

I'd still like to try hosting, I'd try tonight but it's short notice.
Naw, we won't play tonight. Anyway, here is the rotation:

his is the map rotation for Warhawk we have currently been doing (10 minutes each):

DM (Can be anything, but usually we start off small)
CTF (at least 16 people map)
Zones (using a big 32 player map)
TDM (w/ dogfight)
CTF (At least 16 people map)
Zones (using a big 32 player map)
TDM (at least 16 people)
DM (whatever, usually small map)

Some options we check are:
Friendly Fire at 50%
Allow local players (or whatever that's called)
Randomize Teams
Allow Team Switch
Balance Teams

Can't remember anything else (I'll let you know via PSN probably if I remember).

Password is always "cag"
If I'm not hosting, game name will be "CAG" or "CAG_Clan"

I just did the test and it says I can host 20, so I can be another reserve if Mana's not around and my schedule allows. It would be good if we could come up with a pool of preferred maps/layouts/modes/combinations of the above for potential hosts, since I know hardly any of the layouts by name and setting up a rotation right now would be mostly guesswork.

Edit: Wow, you probably posted that basic rotation while I was typing. Talk about quick response time.

:bomb: n00b question... WTF do I have to do to get a promotion to Sergeant? I see I have to get the "Warhawk Recruiting" award but WTF... According to THIS INFO I have to get one troop kill and one ground vehicle kill along with 4 minutes in an aircraft. I swear I have got the kills in both a plane and on the ground along with the 4 minutes but have got no promotion. And whats this about bonus points? Do I need to get 3 bonus points before the promotion or do I get them as part of the promotion?? I have enough points... I am pushing 2,000
:bomb: n00b question... WTF do I have to do to get a promotion to Sergeant?
You have to do the four minutes and two kills in the same round. (If you've done that and haven't gotten the award, I don't know what to tell you.) The bonus just means you get 3 extra points for getting the award. It's not an additional requirement.

So lets say I do the 4 minutes in a plane and get the two different kills on the ground the promotion should come? Or does it have to be the 2 kills in a plane? Because I swear I have done that also... Its startng to piss me the fuckoff. Is there any special sort of game I need to do this in? I mostly play capture the flag if that matters.

OK, now I'm sort of confused. My new interpretation is that it means you have to spent four minutes in a warhawk, then get one kill in a ground vehicle, and one on foot. For instance, the Vehicle Assault award is described as "excellence with ground vehicles" and requires 15 "ground vehicle kills." So I guess you have to really be mixing it up for Warhawk Recruiting.

I don't think the game type matters for any of the awards, unless they involve flags or zones, of course.

Edit: This was actually in that site's FAQ:

Q: How do I get Warhawk Recruiting ribbon?
A: Remain in a Warhawk for 4 minutes, they don't have to be consecutive. Kill a troop and a ground vehicle (turrets count a vehicles.) If this is difficult for you use a TOW missile.
So I guess ground vehicle kills = actually killing a ground vehicle, not kills using one. That vehicle assault award suddenly sounds pretty tough.

All right, I set Warhawk night to Friday this weekend. Next weekend will probably be Saturday evening.

Right now the schedule looks:

Date: 3/7
Time: 10pm EST
Server: ManaKnight
Password: cag

Date: 3/16
Time: 10pm EST (maybe I'll do 9pm EST)
Server: ManaKnight
Password: cag

@fuss, initially for me the Warhawk Recruiting was the toughest thing ever, and now I just seem to rack them up. Make sure you're playing in rated games, your promotion will soon come so don't sweat it!

Also, freaking-a! Game this Friday!

I usaully try to play 3-4 nights out of the week(in ranked matches), depending on how tired I am after work. Holidays/New Year were pretty busy for me so I've just gotten back into the mix.

To be honest, I've tried to get back into it but I can only manage cag nights at best nowadays. I'm just starting to lose my passion for warhawk.

That seems to be the general theme around here I think..Hopefully the new patch should change that. Or how about we create some sort of CAG Warhawk account and purchase Omega and Mirror (Next Month) pack(s), then Gameshare it 4 times. I realize we would still have to purchase it a few times, but it would still be super cheap and would most likely extend the game for you guys who are getting bored.

Sounds like a good idea in theory, but might be hard to organize. What do you guys think?

Dude, I got the Omega Dawn patch and it's very underwhelming. The new vehicle isn't that great. The new map isn't that great, and the best part is, there aren't a lot of people playing it. I tried to find an Omega Dawn ranked zones game the other day and came up empty.

The new patch will help some, but I for one won't get the new 'booster pack' coming out. It's just not worth it.

right on dude..Good to hear some perspective from people who have it. Anyways, Metro Detroit right here, where abouts are you "stranded" at?

Work in Lansing, live abouts 20-25m north.

I said this before but if we could get a few small cag warhawk teams together and have games against each other, I think that would help turnout and induce some rivaly.
You mean like CAG East, West, North, South? Time zone reasons might not allow for this..
I mean't like 4 random teams. I don't know how you'd split them up. Signups or random assignments I don't know. Would require more thought.

I think sign-ups would work best b/c it would allow for the same teams every time, which would (hopefully) build continuity. Put the word out dude...
anyone kno if target still sells this game for 40?
You could probably get it off a fellow cager for less than that. Check the trade forum. If you're taking about B&M I don't know, but Target online has it for 40. So does Amazon and you get free shipping and no tax with them.

.... you avatar makes me miss my days back in europe. Barcelona vs Real Madrid was the rivalry. BTW I'm a Real Madrid guy. ;)

That would be up to Mana as he's the Clan leader / game organizer.

Our turnout for Warhawk nights is actually pretty good and continues to get better if anything. Therefore, I'm not really concerned with changing much at the moment.

As far as splitting the clan up by time zones or whatever, forget it. We tried it once and it was a massive failure. We are better off sticking to one clan of people playing, because the number of people playing in each group just isn't enough. The main reason I randomize the teams is because people sometimes leave on one time, causing an imbalance. By randomizing, it SHOULD fix the issue for the next game.

I've been trying to play this a little more on non-clan nights, if only so I can finally get a new rank. Feel free to join in if you see me playing, although I may have voice off because 90% of the chat in public servers is just "MRMRVRMVRNMVRVNRMVNRMVNRMVNRM."

And no, I haven't noticed anyone spawn camping, in warhawks or otherwise. I did get blown up by a mine somebody hid at a spawn once... That's not so cool.

I also started to play regularly in ranked servers for the same reason, and likewise... Anyone seeing me play is more than welcome to join in as well.
I hope you guys don't spawn camp with Warhawks like most of the other people out there right now.
What server were you playing on. I've never experienced this but I've only played on the official level 1 servers (soon to be level 2, hopefully I don't suck too bad once I get there).

Good god, I was spawn camped all night last on one map. While it was annoying, I got very good at trying to dodge missiles. Also feel free to join me in a game.

Oh ho! I see Metaly is playing! I'd join but I'm one rank above the lvl 1. cap.

Yeah anytime I see a fellow CAGer in game I usually attempt to join. I usually play pretty late though, being a creature of the night and all...

Well whatever it was I played in a ranked game and got the promotion in the first game AND earned the Bandit Ground Combat badge in the next game so I am ready for the Chief Sergeant promotion when I get a few more points :bouncy:

I can't wait for the CAG game.... and if you see me on come on in and join me :applause: The PS3 username is over to the left!
Oh ho! I see Metaly is playing! I'd join but I'm one rank above the lvl 1. cap.
Haha. I've been sticking to rank-restricted because otherwise I'd get destroyed. I just made sergeant though, so I guess I'll bump the cap to the next level. Is anyone here a lieutenant or higher? I think that's the next cap.

Some pointless trivia: A couple pages ago I said that it didn't matter what mode you played in, awards-wise, except for the CTF/Zones-specific awards. It turns out that's not even entirely true, since I just got the Front Line Expansion ribbon (capture 10 zones) playing a CTF game. I guess it'll give it to you just for capturing an outpost.

Well right now I'm a Sergent Major, trying to upgrade that. I usually play late pacific time from time to time usually on Thursdays when I'm done with school.

I found out the best way to avoid massive swarming of your home base is to play the bigger maps with 32 players on a server. Its pretty rare it will come down to that, although sometimes its gets massively lopsided but if that happens just bail and find an even game.

As for the Omega Down, Stranded is right it pretty much blows. The new vehicle is too slow more my tastes and the map layout is pretty horrible compared to the other ones. The platforms are layered too much on top of each other.

That would be cool if we had sub clans to scrum against each other, but I doubt we can set up a consistent set of players coming in for each group, everyone here seems to have busy schedules.

I have a question, hopefully someone here could answer it... When one speaks on a headset, can the other team hear you? I would like to discuss strategies, but not if the other team can hear what I am saying. ;)

If you're playing on a team, i.e. TD, CFT or Zones then only your team can hear you. In regular Deathmatch everyone can hear everyone.

Gotcha, that's good to know. I was reluctant to speak for that reason, so I guess I'll be more vocal now. Thanks. :)

Has anyone else been to warhawkstats.com? They have a map section(incomplete) which shows where the pickups are on some of the maps.

To remind everyone, Warhawk night is Friday night at 10pm EST. I will be hosting, so the server will be "ManaKnight", and password is the same as always. Hope to see you there.

If people RATHER play Saturday, I could swap it with CoD4.

I'm still waiting for more feedback to decide what night I'll make Warhawk night. If Warhawk night does not have many people this weekend, I might end Warhawk night for a long time.

I'm not going to go into why, but I have my reasons (most of it has to do with life problems) and part of it has to do with my greatly considered reducing or exiting my role putting together CAG online games.

Any interest in a second Warhawk night this week? I'd like to try hosting this weekend, to see if my connection can handle it. Maybe late night Saturday. After CoD4.
Definitely interested tonight. What is the password to get in on your server, ManaKnight?
"cag" I'll make sure I got the OP right.

Hmm, I think I'd probably be interested. Good luck hosting.

mguiddy, what I may do is run CoD4 from 9pm EST until 10:30pm-11pm EST. After that, you can try hosting Warhawk, if that's what you meant. I'll still host Warhawk tonight.

Yep, that's what I meant.
If you want to advertise it (in the OP/Subject/your sig) please do.

The server name will be CAG or CAG_Clan. Password cag.

I was messing around with it a few weeks ago and have the rotation as two zones, two TDM, two CTF, one DM, and one dogfight. Not in that order, they are spread out. I've the usually server settings as well.
