CAG Warhawk Night [TBD]
well you got until friday for cag night =D
That was un-called for... lol

But now its downloading a bit quicker, but still nowhere near my normal psn download speed. I'm downloading at only 1 MB per 15 seconds, I think I'm usually at about 1 MB per 3-4 seconds. Its all good though since I don't play until night anyways...
Just got my copy today. I'm going to play around with a little bit here. But put me on the list for the clan, I'll try and participate in the next meeting.

PSN: PapiChullo
You will be added once you attend one of our Warhawk nights.

As a question, did warhawk have a really large learning curve? Because it took me a while to get into the cod4 multiplayer and actually be able to break even kill/deaths.

It might take a you a little longer to learn Warhawk then cod4. The flying is the trickiest part, but also the most fun. It just takes time to get used to.
Try playing around with the different control settings (i recommend not using sixaxis). There's also something called "pro flight" which allows you to have greater control vs having it turned off which gives you precanned evasive animations.
The other vehicles aren't very hard to learn and the foot combat is pretty basic.

The Warhawks are where the fun is though :bouncy:

yeah I thought the warhawks would be where the curve is, I think a 3rd person shooter shouldn't be too hard to get used to... wohooo 36% in under and hour and a half..

God that is unreal..Its gonna take you like 4 hours to d/l

The patch is finally coming tomorrow! :D
According to the official PS Blog, servers will be down from 3am-9am tomorrow morning to get the patch ready, can't wait!
God that is unreal..Its gonna take you like 4 hours to d/l
It finished downloading at about 12 am and I just played one game to try it out and its pretty fun, but pretty hard.

I'm glad the update is out and will probably play a few games tonight when I get home.

Out of curiousity though, does anyone else think that the ability to do custom soundtracks should be a required feature of any online game? As much as I enjoy Call of Duty 4 and Warhawk, I would love to be able to listen to some of my music in the game, especially Warhawk which doesn't even have a campaign so the arguement of ruining the mood can't even be applied.
The patch is up and I just downloaded it. First thing I noticed was
Intro music has changed.
Nooo, I love that intro song. I just wish it wasn't so short so it would loop less.

Every game ought to have custom soundtracks, online or not. I probably wouldn't use it 90% of the time, but it's nice insurance for those few games with intolerable music. (Burnout, Excite Truck, etc.) I kind of like how Warhawk doesn't have music constantly playing, though. It makes all the huge battles where there actually is music that much more exciting.

I'll probably get on for a bit this evening to try out the new equipment. Anyone interested in a small CAG game?

I would like to know the time for this as well. ;)
Probably same as usual, between 9:30-10 Eastern.
I'll be golfing around then. If you guys are on later say closer to 10:30/11 EST then I'm game.

This game is very difficult, at least flying and trying to kill anyone in the air, IMO. There doesn't happen to be a server where you can go to just kinda mess around and practice is there?

Also, the knife in this game is better than most of the guns.

I tried the Wrench today on a tank I was riding on when it was attacked... It's a pretty useful thing that wrench! They couldn't kill us unless they used two flamethrowers! Too bad the wrench doesn't last forever, so use it wisely! ;)

Aw, a limited ammo wrench? Disappointing.

That's awesome about the two flamethrowers, though. The next booster needs a wide open desert map with a ton of vehicles so we can have tank battalion showdowns.

I was disappointed about the Wrench ammo as well. Once you equip it you can't use the knife - You start with 400 ammo and every swipe to a vehicle/turret takes up 30. However it's still a one hit kill, and it doesnt take up the ammo when used againt a human.

One swipe to a Tank Deals/Heals 1/8 of its health bar (240 to completely destroy/repair Jeep or Turret)

One swipe to a Jeep or Turret Deals/Heals 1/4 of its health bar (120 to completely destroy/repair tank)

Also, the wrench will give it a bit of a Ratchet and Clank feel too! ;) Lombaxes FTW!

Also, you'll need to use a Grenade or Rocket Launcher to destroy the enemy Bio-Degenerators (BD's). You could destroy them with your Pistol, or the Rifle, but it'll take a long time to destroy, and most likely the enemy will kill you before you are able to destroy it. :)

I should mention that BD's work for a limited time, and don't last forever, but you guys probably already knew that. ;)

The update downloaded pretty quickly for me.

Now I just have to play it. I keep telling myself I'm gonna try to get better at this game before I give up on it. The problem is I've been spending my time on other games. I had no idea about Proflight-maybe I'll give that a try.

Hopefully I can make another one of our nights.
Thanks for the update Freaky, are the SCEA servers up yet?
Yes, I played a few CTF games on them a few hours ago. :)

You can set up you're own server and fly around and play on your own. I really suggest new players do that.

I'm going to start up a server now. I'll start with a bunch of FFAs since I don't expect a huge turnout, but I could always add in some CTF depending on how many people show.

Server name: CAG
No password

Edit: Oh good, a gigantic, blue EUCADIAN on the spawn screen. That should keep me straightened out.

Thanks everyone, that was a fun little set of games.

The open mic was cool. There was definitely a lot more talking this time, although it quieted back down for the dogfight. Maybe flying just takes too much concentration.

StrandedBrit and freekyzeeky, you may want to check your mic settings because it showed you as transmitting the entire time and there was a little background hum. It wasn't too bad most of the time, but when there were four people transmitting at once (I think on Badlands) it got a little hard to hear.

Also, can someone let me know if my mic was on the whole time, or if there was a buzz? My name never showed up on the list, but I'm guessing it only shows other people.

Your name only shows for other people, and that buzz may have been them charging their mics during play b/c that can cause interference...

That was fun, can't believe I got sniped up close by Metaly! I know I was running in a straight line, but man... That totally caught me off-guard! :bomb:
I wonder if 400 ammo for the wrench is the limit in terms of ammo? If I had more ammo, we'll last a LONG time in the Tank. :boxing:

Haha. Consider it payback for that one time you sniped me in a warhawk. :D

I really like that the wrench respawns almost instantly, so it's easy for everyone to pick one up. Of course, it still would have been way better to just give it to everyone starting out, because then there could be CQDM wrench wars.

LOL

I managed to play this AM for a bit - never did find the bio-field :bomb: I just managed to pick it up one time in a backpack, but was killed lke 2 seconds after I got it. I was distracted by the huge info box that popped up lol. BUT I did manage to kill a guy standing in one. I used the flame thrower and toasted him good. I dunno if he freaked and went out of the field or what, all I know is I killed him good :bouncy:

But ifi you guys play late night look for me or Super King, I have joined a few of the differrent games he was in and its always fun to kill the king... untill he kills me that is. But I got him good a few times last night! My username is uder my avatar for those of you who do not have it yet.

I can't believe there's a version of the dancing banana holding a wrench. And you found it.

What are the properties of the shield? Can you shot through it, or do you need to be inside it to shot people in it?

Your mic was on the whole time. And to be honest during the whole game there was a little backgroud humming noise for me too. I dunno. I'll check my setting though.

Hmm, thanks. I'll try adjusting it later.

Mana, what headset/mic settings were you using? You actually disappeared from the list when you weren't talking.

Well, I just signed up with GameFly and Warhawk is one of the first games I should be gettin' (hopefully it will show up tomorrow). Is there like a n00b r00m or a tutorial or something so I can get some practice in before I play on the CAG Warhawk Nights?

No, but most suggest starting a lan server to get used to the controls. Playing on the official servers that have a max rank of sergeant is a good way to get some practice in as they have a lot of new players, though that doesn't mean everyone there is a pushover.
