CAG Warhawk Night [TBD]
Cthulhu8u .... why are there 5 tags in your sig ???
Are you referring to the blank boxes after my tag? At least, that's what I see on some computers when I visit CAG... funny enough, not on the computer I'm on right now. I'd love to know what that is, I've checked my sig but don't notice anything.
Also, I used to have my tag show up once per page, but now it shows up on every single post. Kind of annoying!

Yeah, it is weird, sometimes you have like 100 tags, sometimes none. Oh well, didn't know if it was just my vision playing tricks with me. 8-[

Think I fixed it for now, until I start to play with the tags again

I just looked at my sig on a PC that gives me all those little blank boxes
I'll be there as long as I'm not too busy rounding up St.Patty's Weekend drunks :puke:
St. Patty's day is when my project is due, so I can't mess around with anything (although I've never been drunk once in my life. ;) ).

I have one open slot on my friends list shortly (well, I added my Euro account to reserve a slot). One Warhawk/CoD4 person will be added soon, but I won't say which. ;)
I'll be there as long as I'm not too busy rounding up St.Patty's Weekend drunks :puke:
Rounding up drunks? Are you a cop by any chance?

I will probably play Fri., and will try for tomorrow (and maybe tonight) if anyone happens to be on.
Rounding up drunks? Are you a cop by any chance?
No, lol. I'm an RA at Michigan State and I just happened to be "on duty" this friday, meaning I'm responsible for patrolling the dorm and cracking down on rowdy behavior and drinking. But, I do have a brother that's a cop.

Here's a Warhawk tip I've never knew about until tonight... Did you know that you could instantly kill whoever is in a Jeep with your knife? Stand next to that Jeep, and kill 'em!

Yeah, I've used that one a few times. But now we have to worry about ANOTHER way for you to kill us

Here's my super tip that I've been meaning to share: If someone's running off with your flag in a jeep, instead of chasing them in a warhawk, drop down right in their face. They won't be able to drive around you and it's incredibly frustrating. Just a good reason to bring along a gunner/air support. I'm pretty sure credit goes to LethalGod for showing me this technique. :bomb:

Also, it took me a long time to realize that warhawks can do a slide move just like the jeep (L2+R2 in flight mode). Great for doing tight U-turns if someone's following you, or for making a sharp corner without going into a loop/hover.

Finally, if you see a warhawk chasing another, go ahead and start shooting at the one chasing for usually a pretty easy kill. This worked well for me in one of the recent FFA dogfights.

GREAT, NOW YOU KNOW ALL MY SECRETS.

You can also flip tanks/jeeps with a warhawk.

What works well for me is constantly checking the main map, enemies give up their position when they move so pick them off when they are vulnerable.

Another thing is to be very subtle when you mine, dont leave mines in real obvious places, hide them under jeeps, roofs and blind corners. Use the same idea if your playing capture the flag, if the flag is in closed in a building toss some grenades in before you enter, chances are there are some mines.

R2+L2 is very useful in a warhawk, my favorite manuver is just doing a loop when a guy is on my tail, if you do it right they pass you up and you switch positions. But if you want to get good in a warhawk you gotta be good with any given weapon. Also double tapping R2 gives you an instant boost.

Now im prolly going to regret telling this when this is used against me, but I still have some tricks in the bank.

That I never knew about, and a very useful tip at that... I'll be sure to utilize sharp u-turns in battle. Thanks for sharing. :D

I was playing CTF yesterday on a Sony server, and the guy who got our flag was driving in a Jeep. What I did was get on a Warhawk, and when he was near the ledge, by the bridge near the water in Eucadia, I rammed my Warhawk against that Jeep, and it went flying into the water!!

Funniest thing I've ever seen!

Having a large map open is essential when manning a turret. Also it makes it easy to spot Warhawks using a TOW missile (sometimes you'll see a lone Warhawk hovering outside of the battlezone).

And does anyone read the manual? The L2+R2 power slide while in a Warhawk is in there...

Another thing, you can have passengers in a Warhawk. That can be useful.

I didn't know you can have passengers in a warhawk...also don't have the manual since I got it off psn. can the passengers do anything?

Crap. You all just got harder to kill. I've been a warhawk powersliding, mine hiding, main map using mofo.

I just learned the "drop a warhawk in front of jeep" tip last night in game. Wacked myself on the head for not thinking of it first.

@hone- Nope unfortunately they're just along for the ride. But it's a good way to take control points quicker.

Okay, for those that got the game off PSN, anyone read the control configuration section? ;)

And the only real use for passengers is during CTF and Zones. Though it would be awesome if the passenger could get out of the plane without landing, either hovering low to the ground and jumping or with a parachute.

I forget where I read this, but supposedly warhawk passengers can see everyone's location on the map, including enemies holding knives. (Normally they'd be invisible because you only appear when you shoot.) I can think of maybe a couple situations where that would come in handy, but you'd need some really good team communication. Also, who wants to spend a round in the passenger seat? Just drop me off by a flag, please.
Oh, and sniper rifles don't damage tanks and turrets, but keep shooting, it points out where you are.
I love when people do this in Battlefield. They'll just start shooting at my tank with their tiny assault rifle. It's like, yep, I know you're still back there. Don't worry, I'll get to you in a minute.

That's on the Warhawk Stats site.

You can take out someone in a War hawk with a grenade(2 or 3 hits to body will usually take it out) or sniper riffle(4 or 5 hits if hits the body of the Warkhawk useful for snipping Warhawks out of the air). One hit kill if you can get the pilot.Use zoom if using the binoculars or snipper riffle by clicking the right analog stick.

I've still never pulled this off, any pointers?

another tip, if on foot vs. a tank, try to drop a mine right on it. Guaranteed kill!

I've never done it either. I've heard it's possible and tried it once or twice, but I usually don't fly much so I don't get much practice. I was thinking about creating a local server to practice but haven't had the time.

Good idea about the mine, though I rarely have mines. I'll stick to getting up close and cooking them.

Another thing I've read, you can place mines on vehicles then go kamikaze on the enemy.

Placing mines on vehicles in your base can also be effective in CTF games. Just make sure to tell your teammates.
can you take out a tank or warhawk with an assault rifle?
Yes, but it's an absolute last resort unless they're really running low on HP. Instead, just start thinking about how to take them out after you respawn. :)

Does it damage tanks? I've heard the assault rifle didn't damage tanks/turrets.

Either way, I loved it when I took down a Warhawk with an assault rifle during one of last week's games.

Wow, its starting to get serious around here. We might have to give GAF another call, lol. I've never done the Warhawk powerslide, but I've been launched a few times by them diving on me while in a jeep. I looked the through the manual when I first got the game (I always do, it's habit) but haven't touched it since, may have to take another glance.

I'm pretty sure it does damage them, just too slowly to be useful if they're anything but almost dead. There's always a chance that I'm wrong, though. There've only been a couple times I've found myself facing down a tank with just a rifle, fortunately.

Or maybe it's all just part of my plan to get everyone to put away their flamethrowers and rockets and pull out their assault rifles the next time I'm coming up the road in a tank... Suuure, the assault rifle does tons of damage to tanks... That's the ticket.

Your assault riffle only does damage to everything except a tank, but if you in a turret you can take down a tank just be sure to run before the tank can get to you. And if your desperate just lob some grenades at warhawks if you dont have anything on you, 2 grenades will blow it up.

I'm too lazy to flip a jeep with a warhawk but I assume if you boost right before you hit the jeep you should send it flying, simple physics lol. And yes reading the manual always helps.

Man this is turning into warhawk 101.

Oh yea, the kamikaze idea is pretty fun, just be sure to jump out before you get to your enemy so you don't have to sacrifice yourself. Its not really kamikaze but its better.
interesting, didn't know like half of this stuff. Does the flamethrower do a decent amount of damage to a tank?
Flamethrower is the best way to tank out a tank up close, it pretty fun getting stealth kills from a flame thrower.
interesting, didn't know like half of this stuff. Does the flamethrower do a decent amount of damage to a tank?
Flamethrower is my weapon of choice against any vehicle. A few seconds and any tank/jeep/warhawk/turret will go boom.
Your assault riffle only does damage to everything except a tank
I don't think it damages turrets.
