CAGCAA - NCAA 10 Dynasty - 2011 Season - Week 19 Deadline: 6/28

Crazy game Frisky, GG. You managed to keep Kordell Young in check pretty much the entire time, I only managed to average 2.7 YPC which is WAY below what I normally do.

The big game of the past week was easily the Ohio State/Rutgers meeting, which came down to the last play as Ohio State fell short in a close loss. That makes for the only change in the top rankings as they fell to the #10 spot so a few other teams can move up. Oregon, Auburn, Nebraska, and Pittsburgh comprise the list of teams that fell out of the Top 25 while #20 Tennessee, #21 Notre Dame, #23 NC State, and #24 Kansas State were the teams that took their places.

The Heisman Watch sees mostly the same lineup of contenders with Roddy Jones of Georgia Tech appearing at the #5 spot as the newest member of the watch.

Dustin Earnest of Texas earned Defensive Player of the Week honors in a big win over West Virginia.

The biggest game of this week is definitely #1 Georgia Tech visiting The Horseshoe to take on #10 Ohio State as yet another test of their worth in being the #1 team in the country. Other big games include #13 Texas and #21 Notre Dame, #12 Alabama versus #14 Oklahoma State, #19 Colorado at #24 Kansas State, #17 Michigan at #18 Cincinnati, and #20 Tennessee and #22 Wisconsin face off to see who stays ranked for next week.

Here is the full schedule for this week:

Georgia Tech (S3anAmI) at Ohio State (FriskyTanuki)
Florida (Ultimate Matt X) at Miami (drunknmunkys) - He's away so play the CPU.
Iowa at South Florida (JustnCredible29)
USC at Rutgers (BigAT4)
Notre Dame (acabra2) at Texas (Frankysox)

Byes: LSU (DarkTower80), Michigan State (XXXplosive1)

Let me know when you can play, Sean.

Rough game against USC. I walked away with the win easily enough, but lost my starting QB for 12 weeks.

Well, the real USF team got a new coach and the virtual one is now playing like it! I opened up the playbook and put 58 on the board against Iowa. BJ "Mr Big Play" Daniels is now the starter for the rest of the year and we will see if USF can get back in title contention!

I tried to play my game against the Miami CPU, but I didn't see an option for doing so, it still wanted me to play the user. Am I missing something or does something still need set up?

Well I just played an odd little game with acabra, it wasn't fun but I came out with the 34-3 win only needing to throw the ball three times. He pretty much stopped playing in the first quarter because of lag, so that sucked because I didn't find out til after the game. He also stopped calling plays in the fourth, not sure what that has to do with lag but we finished regardless.

I just pounded the rock in the second half and I finally got in a defensive rhythm which I've been lacking recently. I came out blitzing like crazy and got two picks early. One was returned for a TD the other was returned to the one.

A huge upset occurred as Ohio State beat Georgia Tech in an epic overtime game to remove them from the ranks of the unbeaten, leaving North Carolina in the #1 spot as the last undefeated team in the country. With North Carolina as the undisputed #1, the #2 through #6 teams moved up a spot to leave Rutgers in the #2 spot as the top contender for the title game. Tennessee, Kansas State, and Mississippi State fell out of the Top 25 this week to allow Penn State, Arizona, and Pittsburgh into the #22, #24, and #25 spots, respectively.

Checking in on the BCS rankings, North Carolina is the new #1 with Rutgers, Florida, Cal, and Ohio State rounding out the top five for this week.

The Heisman Watch still features Alabama's Julio Jones and Colorado's Cody Hawkins at the #1 and #2 spots while Georgia Tech's Roddy Jones moved up to the third spot, Rutgers' Kordell Young fell to the fourth spot, and Alabama's Greg McElroy returned to the Watch in the bottom spot.

As a sign of two key players in the Ohio State's win over Georgia Tech, Ohio State's Jake Stoneburner and Cameron Heyward earned National Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week honors along with their SEC counterparts.

Award Semifinalists have been announced and there are some notable early rankings as these awards are still in discussion. Colorado's Cody Hawkins is the lead for both the Maxwell (Best Offensive Player) and O'Brien (Best QB) awards while Georgia Tech's Jason Peters is leading the Bednarik (Best Defensive Player) and Lombardi (Best DL) award races. Check them out when you're on next to see if any of your players are up for awards.

This week seems like a good night for huge games as there are a few games between top-ranked teams. #7 Ohio State gets a chance to take down another #1, undefeated team when they visit Chapel Hill to take on #1 North Carolina. Elsewhere, #2 Rutgers visits The Swamp to take on #3 Florida in a big fight for BCS Championship positioning. You'll also see #13 Texas take on #15 LSU, #17 Wisconsin visits South Bend to take on #23 Notre Dame, #10 Utah and #11 Boise State, and #12 Alabama at #18 Kansas State to round out the big games of the week.

Here is the full schedule for this week:

Georgia Tech (S3anAmI) at USC
Miami (drunknmunkys) at South Florida (JustnCredible29) - Play the CPU
Michigan State (XXXplosive1) at Iowa
Wisconsin at Notre Dame (acabra2)
Ohio State (FriskyTanuki) at North Carolina
Rutgers (BigAT4) at Florida (Ultimate Matt X)
Texas (Frankysox) at LSU (DarkTower80)

Byes: N/A

Hooray, back in the National Championship picture where I belong. I can officially forget about that sim loss to Franky. Now I just need to finish out strong with my backup QB and hope for the best.

Matt, what time works for you tomorrow to play?

BigAT, the clock on here is always a little off, but if you mean Friday it'll probably be late. I'm going to a hockey game so I probably wouldn't be back until around 11 EST. Also, today (Thursday) could work, but it'll be late too. Saturday though I would be free in the afternoon.

I did mean today (Thursday). I think I should be able to play late tonight, let me know when you can I guess.
Saturday or Sunday should be good but I do want to watch the playoff games this weekend.
Well I'll be watching the playoff games as well, and probably wont be on Saturday. So sounds like Sunday night?

BigAT, well I should be in by 10 or so if you're around. I'll try to keep an eye on the Xbox for a few hours after that. If that doesn't work I should still be good for tomorrow late.

GG Matt. Having a freshman QB make his first start ever down in Florida probably wasn't the best situation ever. I had a rumbling controller and screwed up buttons/routes presnap the entire game.

I managed to make up for the vast talent gap between my team and the elites up until this point, but couldn't do it this time. Florida has so much speed and talent it's gross. It wasn't to pleasant either to get lit up by a kid that grew up about 10 minutes from where I live (Brandon Beal - 2 ints and a forced fumble).

Florida - 38
Rutgers - 27

Yeah, good game. Though I think the talent gap was more than covered by my shithead mistakes, heh. That option right off the bat had me nervous and the pick at the end of the first half really killed my momentum. The turnover right before I stripped your guy also had me thinking I had screwed myself. I couldn't believe how many times I got an interception off of flipping your receivers in the air.

Just finished a wacky game against the "U". It took me picking off Harris 5 times to get the win. BJ had a shitty game and threw 2 pick sixs but he made huge plays in the 4th quarter. This season is shaping up to be anyones title. Most of us are bunched up together....pretty exciting stuff!

This week was a big one as last week with both #1 and #2 falling to Florida and Ohio State, who take up the #1 and #3 rankings this week. Cal is in the #2 spot as the second contender for a title shot, though the BCS rankings put Florida and Ohio State in the top two spots. Falling out of the Top 25 this week were Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pittsburgh, which gave Northwestern, TCU, and Nebraska the #23, #24, and #25 spots.

Here are the BCS rankings for this week:

1. Florida - 8-1
2. Ohio State - 7-2
3. Cal - 8-1
t-4. Georgia Tech - 9-1
t-4. Oklahoma - 8-2

The top two spots in this week's Heisman Watch are the same with some shake-up in the bottom three spots. Alabama's Greg McElroy moved up to the #3 spot, Virginia Tech's Tyrod Taylor is new to the list at the fourth spot, and Rutgers' Kordell Young has slipped to the bottom spot at #5.

Florida's Brandon Beal earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors with a big game agaist Rutgers last week.

New to the #1 spot, Florida kicks off this week's big games when they face #17 Notre Dame. #4 Georgia Tech gets to rebound from their big loss two weeks ago when they take on #13 LSU this week. #7 Rutgers also gets a chance to rebound when they host #15 Utah.

Here's the full schedule for this week:

Notre Dame (acabra2) at Florida (Ultimate Matt X)
Ohio State (FriskyTanuki) at Miami (drunknmunkys)
Michigan State (XXXplosive1) at South Florida (JustnCredible29)
Utah at Rutgers (BigAT4)
Georgia Tech (S3anAmI) at LSU (DarkTower80)
Iowa at Texas (Frankysox)

Friday or Saturday would be best as I am off work. I can probably get it in earlier if we play late at night. Tonight i have to work late so tonight is out but other nights should be okay.
I can play tonight after 10 eastern, wed after 9 pm, or thurs after 9 pm
Wednesday after 9 works for me. If by chance something comes up on your end I can probably be on Thursday too.

GG, xxplosive, you played a tough physical game and you managed to hurt both of my qbs...at one point my backup tight end was under center i think lol. I got lucky on a few of those picks and that was the difference in the game. Usf 20 Mich State 10. I have to get my running game going the next few weeks or I'm going to be toast. Its a longshot but I'm hoping for a decent bowl game ;)

acaraba2 and I are supposed to play tonight. Speaking of which, acaraba2 I should be free all evening and will check XBL repeatedly. Though I'll definitely be on around 9 or so which is when you mentioned you could be one before.

I got my game in last night against the computer and I probably should have lost. Once again my awesome rated defense was squashed like a bug, I ended up beating 3-7 Iowa 38-34 after being down 24-34 halfway through the fourth. It's been a rough year.

Well the title picture is more interesting now. I was down 20-0 against acaraba2 in the first quarter, tried to make a comeback, but ended up losing 23-20 or 23-17, though my final score was against the CPU as we got disconnected. Had like 4 red zone turnovers that killed me. Hard to lose without giving up any offensive touchdowns, but I managed it.

Looks like I'll still make the conference championship, hopefully getting a rematch against Notre Dame if they get past Georgia Tech this week.

I'm too busy to do a write-up now, but here are this week's games:

Notre Dame (acabra2) at Georgia Tech (S3anAmI)
Georgia at Michigan State (XXXplosive1)
Texas (Frankysox) at Tennessee
Florida (Ultimate Matt X) at Florida State
South Florida (JustnCredible29) at Ohio State (FriskyTanuki)
LSU (DarkTower80) at USC

Byes: Miami (drunknmunkys), Rutgers (BigAT4)

Matt, the disconnect in your game caused it to be simmed, so you ended up winning.
