CAGcast #162: Motion Sickness - An E3 2009 Wrap Up Show
I was unaware about the DLC news regarding both Rock Band Beatles and Modern Warfare 2. So to discredit yourselves as non-news site is a bit of a stretch. I learned it first on CAGcast that Activision and EA are continuing their quest to rip us gamers off.
I don't think they talked about this, but the other news is that Beatles Rock Band and the Beatles DLC will not work with Rock Band 2. I mean, you basically have to be a hard core Beatles fan because you're either all in or you're not.

should have called this one the weedcast...

trying to decide which cheapy i dislike more, the stoned cheapy or the sober cheapy talking about weed.

still love the podcast, but i could do without the constant weed dropping. i get there are some stories where weed is just a part of it, and those are fine, but it was like every 5 minutes we were getting more weed talk...

Q; who had the best booth?
A: i dont know, but i know who had the best blunt...

Q: what do you think about map packs?
A: i dont know, but i wish there were more paper maps so i could roll a fatty with them...

Q: what did you think of God of War?
A: i think they should have called me the god of weed...

"ALARM SOUNDS LIKE : WHOOP". That's a great pic Cheapyd.

Seriously, with the ridiculous PSP GO price & still no price drop on the PS3, it feels like Sony missed that game winning shot.

I have to agree with Cheapy on motion controls. Project Natal* is just a hyped up interface at the moment. The PS3 dildo is a me too Wiimote. Even the Wii motion plus is another way to sell motion control to consumers. Until a game comes along that shows an experience that a controller can't match, count me sick of this gimmick as well.

Not sure why CheapyD would take even a tiny risk of getting busted for smoking weed and then not be allowed back into Japan. But maybe Japan isn't as strict as the US is when it comes to drug convictions. In America there is no waiver for a drug conviction if you want to apply for a green card unless the conviction involves a single offense of possession of marijuana under 30 grams. Otherwise, the drug conviction will keep you from obtaining permanent resident status in the United States.

Good show as usual. Really enjoying the podcasts with Cheapy, Wombat, and Shipwreck. I got the coverage of E3 that i would expect, and thank you for that. Look forward to next week! **

*I used to go to E3 years ago, but haven't gone in awhile. It's good to hear that this years was a good show.

Shipwreck at E3:

"I want a hamburger... no, a cheeseburger. I want a hotdog. I want a milkshake..."

Cheapy:

"You'll get nothing and like it!"

Yeah Japan is very strick on Drug control, especially on migrants.

I would really like Ship to expand his hands on PSP go experience. *

How long did he get to try it, was it mounted on something?

Did he end up clawing his hands to rest it on his fingers (crane and fold them under the device to support it)?

I am reading conflicting reports on the long term comfort of playing on the PSP go; Specifically relating to how your hands support it and a love it/hate it with the analog nub placement.

* His exposition on it was far too short. ;)

My wife and I are like Shipwreck and his wife; we love game shows and trivia. For example, we have a lot of fun with Buzz.

*And I would think taking a dump at Macy's would be an ok experience.

*
Sounded like CheapyD had the best time out of all of you. You remembered a pretty good amount after all of your smoke breaks. ;) Where's the 5lb lobster pick?
So Infamous is a must have? I'll have to take care of that.
Good job guys on your insight and point of views.
Wish I was able to attend, though I would have been more distracted by the booth babes.
*

* Sounds like you guys had a great time. That 5 lb lobster must have been great when you were baked (actually it'd be great anytime). What do you think of L.A.? I was there a few years back for Siggraph and thought it was horrible. It's dirty and lacks any character.

I don*t know why everyone is so down your coverage of E3, Cheapy. You can do what the hell you want. It*s the same mentality that causes people to boycott Left 4 Dead 2. Fans get so invested in their obsessions that they seem to forget it*s someone else*s product.

oh and ********

agree w/ you 100%.

I dont think you really mentioned it, maybe I missed it, what did you guys think about the Red Faction online? The single player just feels like practice to me, the online is where it's at. (two turn-tables and a microphone) Play Siege mode.

Loved the show as always Cheapy, but I was a little surprised to hear that an Internet Space Pimp such as yourself would hide from Veronica Belmont...but it made for a funny story regardless lol

Did you guys get your hands on Borderlands at the show? Were they even showing it off?

It's not my most anticipated game of the year, that would definitely be Uncharted 2*, but it's certainly the game that seems to be getting the least coverage for how awesome it looks. Especially strange since everyone seems pretty psyched for it that sweet, sweet open world 4-player co-op.

*Even before they brought out the Best Video Game Trailer Ever(tm)!

Hey Cheapy, I don't usually post here, but I'm a regular listener. I meant to write this sooner but I just wanted to say that I'm not mad at you like everyone else is. There are literally hundreds of websites we can find E3 news from, all I wanted from you was to have some fun and have some funny stories, and you delivered. I know how it feels like to be lonely in a foreign country with no one to talk to.
Thanks,
Asterisk
Why hide from Veronica Belmont btw? Did cheapy badmouth qore or something?
You have to go back to CAGcast #122: Double Dragons, Cheapy goes on to mention how he believed Ms. Belmont to be very well endowed from pictures he had seen of her online, looking like she was sporting a pair of double d's and in all his pimpness, further referencing them as "double dragons"
I can't blame him if he was a little embarrassed to let her know he was the guy who was referencing her rack on his podcast...lol

This week's CAGcast was *excellent*. Last week's from the Holiday Inn, not so good. You guys should do more of these 3-way CAGcasts. Great dynamic.

Cheapy, what's the deal with the weed at E3? Does LA have really good stuff, or is weed just hard to come by in Tokyo? Did you ever make it to Star Trek?

Much better Cagcast this week! :)
*Also, for some reason, when I see a picture of Shipwreck, I expect him to talk like Simon Pegg. Weird.

congrats , you just lost a listener to your show from day 1 , i lost all respect for you because all your talk about doing pot , i think its stupid and its illegal. it did not bother me until it started coming up alot in recent episodes. its a waste of money and you can have fun without it, doing weed is comparable to doing crack or snorting rocks its bad for you and it kills brain cells. good luck on the future of the website and podcasts.

later

Great show guys. I think the combination of your personalities is great, it's like Uber nerd, jewy nerd, and jewy tall guy.

P.S. Thanks for lettin' me into the CAG Beta, Cheapy, feels like I'm part of the site now.

* interesting to hear Cheapy still getting heckled about the fish.
Just going to say I think it is north pacific cod, if you believe their commercials xD.

fuck that, this show AND the half-assed E3 Hotel show are what I come to this site for. I go to other sites (Giantbomb primarily) when I want to get "insider" information and industry people. I come here for what I am most likely going to do: Wait 5 months then buy something %50-%75 off, cause I don't really give a shit about having some new game right this second. I'm an old man, I'm not going to discuss any of this crap in the schoolyard or at camp. I want to power-on and blow shit up; if the game is ass, I want to know before hand and the semi-conscious/over-tired ramblings of the Cagcast/Foreplay crew let me know what I should pay attention to (and pay money for) and what I should wait until it is $7 as I'll probably play it once then use to serve h'orderves on. Notice, no asterisk. I'll save my luck for something I'll actually use...

I d*n't remember any talk about scribblenauts. I laughed out loud at a demo online of that game. Great cast guys. Also Starfy: Star-fee not Star-phi (technically the Greeks said Fee too)

* Um, just finished listening... between the 3 of you you ate 10 lbs in lobster last week. That is a heck of a lot of lobster, considering one of them was 5 lbs...

Let me ask this... does a 5 lb lobster taste better than a 2 lb lobster? I'll never find out on my own.

Cheapy, don't feel you have to justify you going to E3. You guys went and had good time. That being said, as one if your fans I would have loved to hear more podcasts of your opinions on games during show. I think people's complaints are for that reason. * for the code.

I'm 100% behind your guys view on Natal, I do not want to be waiving my arms around after a long day of work and school.

All of Cheapy's interjections of weed into the discussion made him sound kind of sad. He just came across as a pathetic stoner relishing his last fix.

I have to admit, after hearing how Cheapy and Shipwreck describe *Bayonetta, I was pretty interested. "Style" and running around on walls sounds cool. That conservation also transitioned into a funny conservation about asses lol. That's why I listen to the Cagcast, not so much for the games, but for the random funny stories.

Ok, here's the deal. This show is *free*. I don't understand how you get so much flack. People, if you don't like the show, don't listen.

I used to have this problem with a particluar sports columnist. As my name suggests, I am a White Sox fan, and all this columnist did was rip on them and their manager every day. I used to get so ticked, but then realized, I don't have to read this column. I can just read the rest of the paper, and ignore it.

I'm nost saying that people shouldn't listen to the CAGcast, cause I think it's cool. However, if you're offended, or you don't like the quality, tough luck, who cares?

My two cents.
should have called this one the weedcast...

*
or the weed 'n' lobster cast.

p.s. there is nothing wrong with leaving feedback even if it is **gasp** negative. Most content producers should appreciate it. The idea that you have to LOVE the show and only post nice things OR simply don't listen is ridiculous.

Alright so it seems that Cheapy, Wombat, and I believe Ship are all excited for Mass Effect 2, but did you guys really play into Mass Effect 1 ? I say that because you guys are all amazed, and can't wait for the new game, but did you guys play enough to remember those side missions where you were in the Mako planetary car?

Seriously doing those portions of the game was just dull, usually a pain, and I remember that they didn't have a tutuoral and that I wasn't even aware of the cannon on the Mako (which was RB) so I played through the game using the machine gun, which resulted in a lot of deaths for me. At times to the planets tend to look the same with brown, cloudly, or what not.

So I'm just debating to contiune playing my character again, because of course I'm excited for ME 2, but man driving the Mako sure was a pain.

If for some strange reason I ever actually go to an E3, my main goal is going to be to sm*ke some weed with cheapyD.

Great CAGCast guys. Good to hear everyone had fun, but it seemed every five minutes I heard Cheapy say "blunt", "weed" or "I was high":

We get it, Cheapy. You like weed.

As for Natal, when I first saw it I got excited. But then it slowly dawned on me that I remember being excited the same way for the Wii. I'm trying to keep my expectations low from this point forward.

Tiger Woods 10 for the Wii with the MotionPlus dongle is amazing. If any of you guys are even just a tiny bit interested in it, I would buy it. A worthy investment with the rare fact that there's more content on the Wii version than the 360 and PS3 versions. There's 27 courses on the Wii version while the PS3 and 360 has 16. I also think there's a ton of extra minigames and such on the Wii version.

With Shipwreck giving the impression he's a game show fan, did he stop by the Target-sponsored section and see Press Your Luck 2010 and/or The Price is Right 2010?

Hey guys, liked the podcast this week, except for one thing, I hit a deer while i was driving home listening to it lol, maybe a cagcast first? *

Cheapy, i wanna give you a heads up about inFamous. Playing inFamous as a bad guy is even more fun than a good guy. The powers are way more badass and damaging. i already beat the game as Good on Medium and i'm playing as Evil now in Hard mode. It's still fun and seeing the Evil version of a few cutscenes is pretty amusing. Do it buddy!

Great show guys. As for the whole smack talk about your coverage actually I didn't mind it cause lets be honest everyone is going to hear the same coverage everywhere you go so whats the big deal. I think if anything you gave a more realistic opinion like when you hang out with friends for a drink and just talk about the latest porn movies. You only give the good details and leave all the bullshit out.
