CAGFC (UFC 2009 League) - HW's Only! New Site! Details Inside!
I've got 92 striking and 95(ish) Sub offense.

And why do you guys get so defensive about stuff?
That's not what I remember for your stats, but if that is the case then sorry for saying your stats were higher. I don't think I was being defensive, though, a little whiny maybe, but not defensive :D
I wont be her aug 2-9
Ok, well you already completed your match for this week, so you're good for now. The CAGFC11 card will be posted on 8/7 and the fights won't be due till 8/13. Do you want on that card?
What did you buy that was $280 originally?
Yeah, it was the ION Rock Band drums. I saved roughly 95% off retail, hahaha. That's the first time I've calculated the percentage. That's fucking awesome, lol. :)
Anyone want me to make the CAGFC Cards and stuff. No offense but they look REALLY AWESOME!!!!!
haha, nice. Good way to save face. Just focus on fighting, and enjoy the rest of what CAG has to offer. It's a great site.

I think it's cause we are a very close knit group around here. We all really decided to trade in our NHL 09 for UFC as a fall through till NHl 10 comes out. I mean we actually really all decided that as a general SEX PANTHERS group.
If people would take the time to look around the site, rather than telling us how to change things, they might actually like it here.
QFT Nate.

It really is. I never venture into the OTT (over the top) or as I call it the OT (Off Topic) Forums. I mostly venture here, DVD stuff and deals. That's it though. But I love it here none the less and close to a few people here. Especially Matt, Nate, Alan and a few others.

BACK ON TOPIC - Anytime during the day is good for me Matt. Except Monday. Maybe Tomorrow or Tuesday. Just let me know buddy.

Matt Cracker | Zippy D-Pinhead | Sub (triangle) | 2:30 Round 3

Very nice fight toe to toe on the feet. Back and forth on the ground, a lot of nice reversals and transitions. I got off a couple of nice flying knees to the face, and even a couple of knockdowns. That got me excited to go in for the kill, and of course I got caught in a deep triangle with no stamina. Then I went to sleep smelling Matt Crackers sack.
Good fight whipt1 !

Pmed my opponent yesterday and got no response. Have been on all day playing Stranglehold and havent seen him.

Rematch was excellent as well, it was similar but this time I wore myself out with kicks and got subbed.

But I must announce my retirement, I traded the game in just a minute ago. I wasn't really playing it except for CAGFC, and I'm not going to stick it out until they fix the online. I hope they'll do so with next years version. Thanks Nate for running this league, you did a great job with lining up all of the cards and because of the league I got more of my moneys worth out of the game.

It's been fun, thanks you guys.

In his CAGFC debut...

Fedor Emelianenko | Matt Paulson | KO | 3:25 of Rd 2

Paulson did a great job picking his shots and keeping Fedor at a distance. But in the end, Emelianenko's strength was just too much. After gaining mount and being continously blocked in the first round, Fedor narrowly escaped 2 kimura attempts from Paulson. As the fighters broke at the end of the round, the fight was pretty even. In the second round, Fedor again gained mount, and this time was able to rain down some heavy hands and rock Paulson. One punch later, the fight was over.

Good fight though, Dead EditHer! Your BJJ had me worried and those kimura attempts had me banging my controller like a madman. Thanks for the fight.

Yeah, its too bad. They are stuck on wanting to co-promote the PPVs. They want to split the cost and profits for the whole event, which is just crazy. I guess he will be back to Japan fighting fringe guys and cans. I don't think Strikeforce can or wants to pay out what he thinks he's worth.

Gary, not sure if you got my message last night sicne you said you couldn't hear the first and you never responded to the second. I was at a friend's house and didn't have my game. I ended up spending 3 days in 4 different cities celebrating my birthday with different people. It was crazy.

As for Monday, what about Monday night if you can't play during the day? Regian, what times are good for you?
DrumRoll please.......Fedor Just signed with strikeforce! It won't be a Lesnar fight but they boast a good heavy weight division. The plus side is StrikeForce is free, as long as you have Showtime.
http://mmajunkie.com
Yeah, now we'll see what this co-promotion shit does for Strikeforce. I still wonder how the hell everyone M-1 co-promotes with ends up going out of business, and yet they're still going strong. I thought it was supposed to be an equal partnership. It's sad that possibly the best fighter in the sport has the worst management in the sport.

I agree Fedor needs new management. I hope M-1 doesn't fuck up StrikeForce they have good fighters and put together great cards. If their smart they'll be around.(hopefully)

It was definetly a good fight, I have been working on submissions, so next time we meet, your ass is going down.:) Anyway, just a heads up I'm going to the beach this weekend and won"t be near my box, so i'll catch you guys next weekend.

Does this mean you don't want to be on the CAGFC11 card? Cards are always posted on a Friday, but the deadline for fights to be finished isn't until the following Thursday by 11:59 PM EDT.

cgarb, let me know when you want to get our fight in. I'll be around pretty much the rest of today. Tomorrow, I probably won't be around much until 7pm edt, but after that would work too. If you've got a time in mind, just let me know.

I'll be online tonight for sure. I'll be getting home from work around 10:30ET.

Hey Matt, gimme a little extra time on the deal. My nephews are in from Iowa and want some Wii time. So once they get done, I'll be on.

Sorry to be a hassle, man.

Nate Lisa | Cung Le | KO | 1:35 of Rd 1

Damn...I thought the patch made flash KO's less frequent. I caught cgarb with a couple superman punches and a spinning backfist early in the round, but the critical blow was landed when after fleeing from Cung Le's barrage of punches in close, we both went for a superman punch at nearly the same time. Back to my old ways, mine got off first, and floored Le. Good fight cgarb. I wish it would have went a little longer, but at least the KO punch looked painful, haha.

Nate Lisa | Cung Le | KO at 1:35 of Round 1

Yeah that fight kind of sucked. I think we had our last fight end the same exact way. I guess I just have some bad timing haha.

Well at least it can't happen again as I am announcing my retirement for both of my fighters. My fighters aren't very well equipped at this point in the league and I am continually getting my ass handed to me. I don't play UFC much at all anymore, and with Madden coming out next week it's just not going to happen. Thanks to the people I fought and had good fights with, some good stuff in there. But this is a wrap for this year's game. Maybe I will give it another go next year.

Oh, didn't know the deadline was thursday. I'll be back home sunday, so go ahead and schedule me on the next card.

Jason Hart d. Roy Jones Jr. via KO 1:22 of Round 2.

Both fighters felt each other out in the first round. In round 2 more standing strikes were exchanged with Hart and Jones trading advantages in the single-arm clinch back and forth, until Hart gained the upper hand and rained in 5 consecutive uppercuts, the final one knocking out Jones.

Nice game Seen. I've got more wins than Glass Joe now so I'm happy. :)

Damn, we are loosing a lot of people in the league. 10 cards isnt bad though.

I also think I am kinda on the end of my rope...madden, COD, L4D2 are all coming out pretty soon and like others have said I only play this game for the league. I cant really justify keeping a game to play once a week.

I was going to wait around for a couple more cards but I want to get the most value for this game. So, this next fight will be my retirement fight, if I can ever get a hold of my opponent.

Thanks N8 you did a great job with the league, THQ kinda let us down with the shallow career mode and not support online like they should. Maybe next year we cant set up a better one that will last longer than the summer. I didnt think this game would last through the summer and it made it 3/4 of the way so thats not bad.
So in the first post, Where it lists the fighters. Are those the rankings? Or just a list?
Yeah, those are rankings. They sometimes get updated as fights are completed, but are ALWAYS updated before the newest card is posted.
Damn, we are loosing a lot of people in the league. 10 cards isnt bad though.
Well, cgarb has been here since the beginning, and his fighters were some of the first created...back before everyone knew how to utilize points properly (it's kinda like the early days of UFC, haha). His only real chance for staying competitive is probably to go through career mode again. And it's understandable if he doesn't want to do that.

For you though, Soodmeg, you're just now getting a title shot. So, in my opinion, your Small Light Smurf fighter is really just peaking. Obviously, it's your decision if you want to trade the game in, and if you need the money, by all means, don't let me stop you. But at the same time, I think your match with Daniel Ortiz will be a great one, and could set you up for some incredible fights in the next few weeks.

I know you've had trouble getting in touch with him though, so I'll send him a PM and see if we can make that fight happen asap. Ultimately, only you know if you're done with the game, but I would point out that we actually had 4 new fighters sign up last week, so even with cgarb retiring his guys, membership is technically on the rise.

Good fight MSUHitman, I was playing well; unfortunately since I haven't gotten a TV yet at my new place I had to play musical chairs and deal with other distractions at the 'rents in the 2nd. I still hold the fight series 2-1, maybe these two will cross paths again.

AP - After Jason Hart destroyed Roy Jones Jr. for the first time in their trilogy, Jones seemed like a shell of himself.

When asked by the media what was next for him with his 2-4 record, he quickly responded "you haven't seen the last of Roy Jones, I may have lost a few steps but I have since gotten with some world class MMA trainers and hope to return in the future. I am taking a few months off to spend some time with my family and see if MMA is my sport.

We spotted Kimbo Slice in sparing in the 305 camp who also had surprising news. Slice announced "My wife has just given birth to our 7th child and I am going to have to postpone my next fight until further notice."

The law offices of Cheapy Inc. which represent Slice and Jones, have recommended to CAGFC CEO N8 White to contact Brett Rogers and Bas Rutten whom the firm also works with."

Name: Brett "The Grim" Rogers

Height: 6-5
Weight: 235
Fighting Styles: Muay Thai

Name: Bas "El Guapo" Rutten

Height: 6-1
Weight: 205
Fighting Styles: Kickboxing/Wrestling

Overall Ratings:
Kimbo Slice 89, Roy Jones 87, Manny Pacquiao 90

To be clear, I'm temporarily retiring Slice and Jones so I can use my Rogers and Rutten CAF's.

Sorry, Matt. It's 1AM here, and I've got stuff to do. Tried messaging you while you were watching Netflix, didn't get a response.

We'll have to try for Tuesday night.

Oh, yeah, I have my options set so that notifications are disabled when a movie is being watched. I had no idea that you wanted to play since you hadn't responded to me in the thread. I fell asleep during Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, anyway.

Tonight should be fine. Just let me know what time frame you can play in.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? You know what, I'm not gonna $$$ you out on that one... yet.

Same deal as last night, I should be home around 10:30 EST, nephews are still here so there's a chance of a hostile takeover before they go to bed. I should be available the whole night, though.

Okay. I can be on at 10:30 Eastern. I'll check for you then. If you're unavailable due to the nephews, we can probably play later on. I've been getting to sleep early by my standards, but it's still not that early.

As for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, I'd never seen it. I just realized it was on instant streaming for Netflix, and recently, Conan was talking with some actor on the Tonight Show and they discussed how trippy it was. I wanted to see for myself. I think I only made it an hour into the film, however,

They failed to mention you need to be messed up to experience it; lol.

Anyone know anything about a UFC Find It On Demand contest from Time Warner? They sent a copy of UFC 2009 to my girlfriend's mom's house as a prize from watching UFC Undisputed 2009 on Time Warner's Find It On Demand - except she's 57, Vietnamese, and doesn't know what UFC is. Google showed me zero results of any such sweepstakes.

*plays for the first time since patch*

HOLY SHIT I can tap the computer on Expert now! I also got the "World Class Grappler" achievement on Beginner in less than a minute using a guy with a 71 submission offense.

Now I can do a third career and win submission of the night to complete my trophy case.

Gary, I wasn't on when you messaged me. When will you be back on?

Don't you have to win all the trophies in one career? I finished up my Fedor career and still didn't get it even though I had 10 wins via submission...and not a single freaking Submission of the Night award. I had like 9 KO of the Night's though...and 5 Fight of the Night's.

The other thing I wondered is do you only have to get one of each to get the achievement, because if you notice there are spots for 10 Sub of the Night and 10 KO of the Night trophies...and getting awards in 2/3 of your fights seems almost impossible to me.
I think there are only 5 spots for each, but I was wondering the same thing.
No, there's 10. I thought it was only 5 at first too, but if you go through them, you'll notice there's a 2nd row. That's how I ended up earning 9 KO of the Night trophies, and still had one empty spot left. I can't imagine the game would expect you to have every single spot filled. Although, if that's the case, I'll just move that achievement to the "never gonna get it" category.

Gail Pennyfeather | Shaun Parent | KO | Round 1 (Forgot time, lost it when my router hiccuped)

I'm retiring my heavyweight fighter effective now. However, I'm not retiring from the league as a whole. I'm contemplating about creating a light heavyweight and going into that division. So, I'm out for a little bit, not out entirely.

Like I told Matt a bit ago, I have no immediate plans to trade this game in. I'm gonna hang on to it for a little while longer.

EDIT: Whoop. Wrong round.

Thank God for that. (in response to whiptcracker)

Anyhow, I finished my fight with Regian. It's too bad he's leaving the CAGFC, but he said he's keeping the game so there is a chance that he may come back with a different fighter later on. But the fight was admittedly pretty one sided, as I was fortunate enough to land a few big shots to the head and get in some good striking and a knockdown with the clinch uppercuts.

Gail Pennyfeather l Shaun Parent l TKO l 4:10 of Round 1

EDIT: Well, Shaun basically said what I said and beat me to it, though the round he listed wasn't correct. I guess that doesn't really matter much, though.
