CAGHL 2k7 - League Champion: Thatstoobad (Nashville Predators)

You're going to have to wait a little longer for the playoffs.

Since there are a still a bunch of games that need to be played, I thought it may be best to give an extra day to the last week, so you guys have through MONDAY to get your games in now. I know it may be hard to get your games in this week, but I'd hate to simulate a bunch of games that really have a big impact on the final standings (including which teams make the playoffs), so try to do what you can.
 
I was looking forward to the playoffs till I saw all the inactivity. Makes me REALLY worry about the availability of certain people. I mean, I only work 45 hours a week so maybe that has something to do with it. Stay up alittle later or turn on the 360 and get the games in. It only takes about what? Twenty minutes to play a game? A playoff series will take you a whole hour if it goes three games. Gah.

I am sorry I never PM'ed you back about our game, I honestly thought I did, but would you be able to play later on Monday night at maybe 11:00 pm est?

Well I have a problem because I can't connect to Shadowcat because he can't open his NAT and nerevfan hasn't been online with his 360 since May 17.

I just started running into it with Halo 3. I spent about an hour messing with my router, but finally figured it out. If anyone else wants to Open their NAT and has a Linksys WRT54G, I'm the guy to ask.
 
It's been fun...I enjoyed the league...but if i make / made the playoffs please give it to someone else...I grow tired of the constant crashes etc etc..

I was checking for you on my list around 11pm and didn't see you. That sucks. We also tried this afternoon and his game locked up twice. Must be a bad disc.

Doesn't matter now. The regular season is now over.
 
First of all, I'd like to thank everyone for playing in the league. It seems like the hockey leagues are the only ones that ever work here, so it's nice that we were able to get through another one. Plus, this season had far less unplayed games than the previous seasons.

Last night, in my final game of the season, I lost to ajh, crushing my attempt at a perfect record. It was a really close game, ending in a shoot out.

Since he won that game, ajh ended up in a three way tie for third place. He had the most wins, so he took 4th. Amicus and Cheapy had identical records, but Amicus won the head to head match up, so Ottawa took 5th, resulting in Philadelphia taking 6th.

There's no set time limit for the playoffs, but it would be nice if the games could be done within a week or so.

The same. Playoffs should be fun and look forward to the next season created when 2k8 is out in September. And possibly the summer tournament if there is one.
 
I'm trying to get me and Cheapies series done by the weekend. Hopefully we can get the games in by Sunday night? We might be able to move this first round right along. I am liking this 8 man setup as it goes down to 4, then 2 really fast.

Congrats to Nashville for taking the first round. Looks like Ottawa and Pittsburgh is gonna end in great fashion to.
 
The playoff brackets seem messed up to me. The top two seeds should not meet each other until the finals. It should be

Well I gave it my all last night against the leagues best and lost both games 2-1.
I thought I might be able to pull an upset in game two but I could not get another goal after a very quick goal in the first period.

Had a great time again playing this year with everyone and good luck too all for the rest of the playoffs.

The website sucks, but I should be able to edit playoff the playoff teams (I had to do that to get the correct matchups before we started), so each team will be reseaded after the first round.

Nah, I had some time to kill when I advanced the league to the playoffs, so I wrote it and made that and the picture.

Hehe. I got rocked by Cheapy's goalie and his offensive onslaught. Great games Cheapy! Good luck to everyone in the rest of the playoffs, especially amicus and silencer. It was nice playing with you all. I hope to see you as the Rangers in the next season/tournament. I'll be keeping an eye to see who wins the Stanley Cup.

Special thanks to thatstoobad for putting together a excellent season. You have my support as long as you continue to host these. I was really happy with the league setup, and honestly It's the best league/tournament I've been in years since everyone (pretty much) was active and very friendly. No trash talking and no crying. Was really great. Thank you.

That's hilarious. He used to do them a lot more in previous seasons, but no one ever looked at them besides me, thatstoobad, and thatstoobad's mom. Great season from everyone. Best so far.
 
Silencer scored 7 unanswered goals to win game 1 8-3, but the Blues held tough and got some great goaltending from Legace and some timely goals by their scoring lines to win game 2 5-4 and game 3 4-2 to take the first round series. Great job by Silencer, I wish you could save games like in the Halo 3 beta because these were awesome games.

Now do I play Cheapy in round 2 or is it thatstoobad? If it goes the way an 8-team bracket is supposed to go I should play Cheapy. If not I guess I'm playing the 1 seed now.

The highest seed will play the lowest seed, and the two middle seeds will play each other. Thus, It'll be me and you next round, and Amicus and Cheapy will play each other.

By the way, really nice job with your series. I have to admit I'm pretty surprised with the results of the the other games.

cheapyd and I just finsihed our 2nd round series.

cheapyd with the 4-3 overtime win in game 1. then i followed up with an 8-5 victory. then the final game involved 2 real good goaltenders in a back and forth battle exchanging 1 goal leads until the time ran out for a 3-2 ottawa victory.

fuck. lol. I didn't know who would come out on top in that one. Great job man, just like in real life the Senators are in the stanley cup.

So yeah, It'll be me and Amicus in the finals. MSUhitman and I played our games last night. The first one was pretty crazy, where I had a 4-1 lead going into the 2nd period, he tied the game going into the 3rd, then he was able to get a 2 goal lead on me going into the last few minutes, where I barely tied it. I scored near the end of the first overtime to get a win that I probably didn't deserve. The second game was more my style, a slower paced 3-1 win for me. MSUhitman played really well, though, completely dictated the flow of the first game.

Congrats thatstoobad. You're long overdue. Great season everyone. This season probably had the most competitive league in all 3 years.
 
Thanks. The series was super close, and after the first game I thought I was going to lose the series. I'm pretty surprised I was actually able to win.

Thanks to everyone for playing in the league and being able to get pretty much every game played. This was definitely the best year that we've had a hockey league, but that's mainly because I was able to win it.

As far as a summer tournament goes, if someone wants to set one up they should go for it. I'm going to be starting a new job soon, and I'll have a lot less time on my hands then I do now, so I don't think I'd be the best candidate for it.

Tournament or no, I hope that everyone returns next season for 2k8.
 
when i got up by 2 in the second game, i kinda let up. boy was that a mistake. should have kept pushing. 2 goal lead is nothing. and then when u caught up, i couldn't keep up.

and to go down 3-0 so early in the 3rd game. to battle back 3-3 with 5 to go only to be scored on right away was deflating.

anyways i had a lot of fun. do we always play the 2k version? i guess the EA doesn't have leagues yet.

as for a summer tournament, i'm going on a month long vacation soon, so i won't have access to my 360. but if one starts, good luck.
 
Congrats to thats toobad in what was a remarkable season. Also congrats to amicus for coming in second place. It was a helluva season, and I'll probably wait till 2k8 is out then we can start a new league from there. But if anyone from this league decides to make a tournament I'll gladly join.

See you as the Rangers next season.
 
Bull shit. This whole league was rigged from the beginning. I demand a full-league playoff to get the true results.

Congrats to thatstoobad. You got through 3 tough series despite what the seeds were and took home the gold! Thanks for running the league; it was the first successful one I've been in since the IGN PS2 NBA 2K3 league. Enjoy your 110 nerd points; wish they were mine :)
