i dont know who i play because im not home tonight but i can play my game tomorrow after 5PM eastern so just let me know when you want to play??? im new england

Also the games i played tonight remind me why i dont play madden online. the first 10 or so games were alright but tonihgt was ridiculous. playing the NYJ with the panthers was horrible, one he would wildcat then hurry up all the way down the field, my D was terrible and i had no chance, or 2 he would play actiongo deep to hill everytime and he would just out jump my corners, nothign i could do. and even if i stopped him he would go for it on 4th

2nd was against the 49ers, would run the same play all the way down the field, the ONLY way i could get him to run for less than 6 yards was to blitz, and when i did that he would just audible it out to a quick throw to vernon, complete cheese, and hurry up the whole time. and then proceed to go for it on 4th and 2pt conversions everytime.

it ruins the game for me, atleast i know ill get a good game in every 2 days playing here
 
Just popping in to say hello - and hope everyone has fun in this league! I played in this league for Madden 12 and it was a blast. I wouldn't have time for two leagues with my current schedule, so I didn't opt to sign up :p
 
Hey, Superstar. That's understandable. Best of luck to you in the other league. Unfortunately, I don't have time for two Madden leagues this year either. But it should be awesome having a full league over here. Not having to worry about juggling two teams will be great!
 
What is the stance on using a different playbook? I'm the Chargers but lets say I want to use the Cowboys offensive playbook...is that allowed?

Yup, totally allowed. You can use any playbook you want. Even though I'm the Titans this year, I got so comfortable with the Saints playbook last year, I'm using it again.

Seahawks (me!) might not be able to play their game tonight. Going out for a while and if I'm not home by 7 or so, rest of the night will be taken up by the Giants game. I believe my opponent already is set to auto-sim, so if I don't get a chance to set it myself and I'm holding up the league, please don't wait for me.
 
Just accepted your FR. Tonight miht be a bit tough, any time in mind? Can't guarantee I can make it, but tomorrow will probably be a bit better.

Looks like a lot of games haven't been played (not a huge deal) and a lot of teams aren't listed as "ready" (a bigger deal). I hope everyone is at least able to get their personnel moves done tonight. I'll be advancing us first thing tomorrow morning.

Do you think he could take over the Panthers? He's read over the rules and is signing up for CAG (though I think there's a 24 hour wait until he can post.)

I am glad to see this league come back. I had a lot of fun playing in it last year. I saw the title, but it appears the Panthers have been filled (Damn). I am going to keep my eyes open and watch to see if any teams come open over the next few weeks.

As long as he's not as good as you are, that's cool, lol. I've seen the absolute beatings you've already been putting on people in the other league. I'd break my game in half before going through an entire season of drubbings like that.

Well, the Panthers were just being "squatted" before. We can't have any empty teams, otherwise the CPU would be constantly signing free agents. But it looks like Doom's brother is interested in taking them, so yeah...you're one post too late. I can definitely add you to the waiting list though. I'm sure it won't be terribly long before something opens up.

He's just tired of ranked cheesers so I told him he'd probably enjoy playing in this league if there was a spot.

Tebow really almost has almost 800 yards passing through 2 games? lol when i saw that one.

EDIT: I thought pre-existing injuries had a glitch where it wouldn't allow the players to play but i see Suggs leads the league in sacks with 4.

Sigh. Look, man. You either want to play in this league, or you don't. People join the waiting list because they'll take a team, any team, not because they don't like the team they already have.
 
Well, the thing is...I haven't seen much about him trying to play his games or do much with the team so far. If he's not going to give the Cardinals a real shot anyway, he might as well give them up. As for going on the waiting list and taking a different team...it's still better than having a CPU team. So, while I'm not thrilled about it...I don't know that I'd disallow it. He also has no way of knowing when another team will open up. I guess you'd have to hope it wouldn't be for quite awhile, so at least there's some kind of "punishment" for abandoning his team. But...I also can't force people to stay motivated to play. People are most likely going to piss us off one way or another, lol.

But I would also tell him, don't be surprised if people think less of you because of it. A lot of people got stuck with bad teams in here. That's just what happens when you get in on a league late. But those people are probably focused on how they're going to build the team up through the draft, trades, free agency, etc.

Just because you have a good team doesn't mean you're going to win the Super Bowl either. Just like having a bad team doesn't mean you're going to do terrible. Some people are just good at Madden and know how to get results no matter what team they have.

If your participation and enjoyment is 100% tied to how many wins you rack up each season, you may end up disappointed pretty quickly. OR...you could be the best Madden player in here and smoke everybody with the Cardinals. But if you're that hung up on them being a "bad team", then yeah...you've kind of already given up.
 
Chiefs, i'm going to set up my team on auto pilot when I get back from work (probably an hour from now, or commish can do it if I'm not back i guess), not going to be able to schedule an exact time tonight.

Also, I noticed the Pats vs Eagles game seemed to get a little out of hand. Not to accuse anyone of any wrong doing, just want to make sure everything was "gentlemanly" here.

I know with it being a preseason game, turnovers were probably all over the place, and that could account for such a high score. Just want to make sure Hemingway eased off the gas in terms of airing the ball out or hurrying to the line (unless he played the CPU...but I thought I remember scrub0bk talking about playing the game).
 
Got my game done..Chargers pick up there first pre-season victory with a 17-3 win. There was alot of weird things happening. The game played slow again but no where near as bad as other games. When he would throw a pass I would switch to the safety or cornerback and press Y to try to pick it and nothing would happen..this happened at least three times. He also had some bad luck with dropped passes. I love that they even switch the punters after the first quarter...and your back up kicks the ball literally 2 yards haha...overall though a fun game.

Yeah, that has to be one of the dumbest things in the game. Even just the notion that a kicker would have ZERO clue how to punt a football is dumb as shit. An offensive lineman could kick it further than the kickers do in this game. Further proof that EA has no idea what they're doing.

It was INT and i didnt throw the ball once the whole second half all running i tried running the clock down

Thanks for the honesty. Like I said, I wasn't accusing you of anything. Turnovers tend to be the #1 reason scores get crazy. Just want to make sure we're being gracious in victory. You'd be surprised how much people appreciate when the person beating them recognizes that enough is enough. It keeps the morale of the league high...which is good for everyone.

It seems like every time I say anything I start an uproar :whistle2:#

I have no problem with playing as my team, and will be much more active once the season actually starts. I sim my preseason games in offline leagues, and wasn't planning to change that. Didn't know it would be so frowned upon.

No one is complaining about simming your preseason games. What Nate and others had a problem with was your "quick to drop the Cards and hope a better team comes along" post.

lol...2 comments, one of which was mine, just trying to add some clarity for both sides. If you call that an uproar, just wait till the regular season. You'll probably think the world is ending, haha. It's fine, man. I think it's just because the only times you've posted lately have been about getting rid of the Cardinals.

Like I said, if you want to volunteer for the waiting list, I wouldn't stop you. But for one, there's no telling how long it would be before you got back in (or...if you'd be any better off in terms of the team you got). And also, people will respect you more for building that team from the ground up. I mean, it's not even like they're horrible. The defense isn't bad, WR's are very good, QB is ehh...but so are a lot of them. Have you found a playbook you're comfortable with? I know for me that makes all the difference.
