Kind of a silly statement considering you just took over the Browns in the other league, and are without Joe Haden because of an overzealous owner who wanted to do a bunch of trades and then bailed on the league barely half way through one season. All these "rules and restrictions" are an effort to prevent those kinds of things from happening as best we can. Listen, I'd love to just say "Hey, go all for it, dude. Who needs rules? We're all cool guy adults. What's the big deal, brah?"

Then people perform 27 trades in a 2 week span, cut half their team, run up scores to gain more XP, and otherwise play like like complete asshats because "it doesn't bother me". If people could be trusted to not do these things, we wouldn't have any rules. But people tend to push the envelope when it's the difference between a win and a loss. We didn't just make up these rules because they seemed like a good idea. Every single one of them is there because somebody has shown a need for it. The notion that you can have a successful, sustainable league with little/no rules is a pipedream. Plain and simple.

Also, as I said, the committee wasn't sold on the deal anyway. They failed to see how it benefitted the Ravens much at all. Richardson's going to need a lot of XP put into him to even come close to what Rice is...and by the time he gets there, Brady will be retired. At least Flacco and Rice are both in their primes right now. I can completely understand why you like the deal though, lol ;)

TRADE REJECTED

While this specific proposal is rejected, there's only a minor change that needs to be made. The committee felt that the difference between the players was close enough that the draft pick wasn't necessary. Remove the pick, and this is approved. No need to resubmit.
 
Trying to get a hold of my opponent. He wanted to schedule 11pm est tonight, but I am hoping to give it a go earlier. Can it be added to the OP that I would prefer not to play late night games on weeknights? I have an infant that takes precedence over this league. Thank you.

Your availability for weeknights is listed as 5 PM CST to 9 PM CST. That's pretty specific. People just need to actually look at their opponent's availability when trying to set up games. I'm in the same boat as you, man. I can't play late during the week either.
 
when you're on defense and you make your cornerback "shade left," is it the defense's left, or the left side of the screen? i.e. Darrelle Revis on the right side of my TV screen is guarding Calvin Johnson. If i shade left, does it mean it'll jump a route towards the middle of the field or towards the sideline?
I just found this function, and you can also spotlight a receiver! lol had no idea that was around

Pretty sure it's his left. Considering your LE is on the right side when you're looking at the screen, I would assume this works the same way.

Once again it waits until the 3rd quarter to do it. I was up 28-0 and CJ was close to 200 yards again. Twick just told me to go ahead and play the CPU. Hoping no big injuries occur in this one. Have I mentioned I hate do-over games? lol

Ah, now I see who your opponent is. Yeah, lyric is usually only available late at night. This is a tough one. I hope you guys can get it in...but it might have worked better if you guys could have worked out a different time earlier in the week. I completely understand where you're coming from, but if you really can't play at 11, you probably shouldn't have agreed to it. Like I said, tough situation for both of you though.

I didnt really agree to it. I contacted him once the week flipped forward, and asked when he wanted to play and I said any day after 4cst. Message I got from him was I can play after 11 tomorrow (today) and thats all I got. So I will jump on at 11 and hope hes on.

He should be. He's pretty reliable...just, yeah, really only plays at night. I guess in the future, maybe being a little more restrictive with your timeframe and letting people know your situation would help. That's what I usually do. It might make me sound like a pain in the ass, but at least it lets people know what they're dealing with, and that whatever time they pick is truly a time that I can play.

Cutler comes through with 5 TD passes (to 5 different guys) and 0 interceptions to lead the Bears over the Lions 35-28. I feel like I only won because my D sucked a little less than Detroit's. :lol: I think there was one punt the entire game. Urlacher sealed the win with an interception on the Lions drive in the final minute.

Madden is crazy. Last week I think I threw 7 or 8 INTs with Cutler. I couldn't connect with a receiver to save my life. This week, he couldn't miss.

What do I do if I don't want my game advanced but I can't get in contact with my opponent?


We talked on Sunday but couldn't set a time for Monday. In checked his availability for Tuesdays and it says available whenever and I PMd and messaged via Live but no response.


I don't want the game simmed without us playing. I'll be near my Xbox and checking the board so let me know what I can do.

If your corner is on the right side of your tv and you shade left he will play towards the middle of the field. Shade right would put him towards the sideline.
 
Ok, we have advanced to Week 8! Anybody who still has trades to get done, you may already be out of time, but I suspect that if neither person has played their game and both are on at the same time, a trade would still go through this week. But once somebody has played their Week 8 game, trading for them is done for the season. EA really made it more complicated than it needed to be, but yeah, when we advance to Week 9, trading is officially over.

Anyway, awards for this Week 7!

NFC Offensive PotW: Jay Cutler, CHI - 17-21, 312 yds, 5 TDs, 2 att, -4 yds
NFC Defensive PotW: Brandon Browner, SEA - 2 tackles, 1 INT, 1 TD

AFC Offensive PotW: CJ Spiller, HOU - 19 att, 185 yds, 2 TDs, 2 rec, 39 yds, 1 TD
AFC Offensive PotW: Kyle Arrington, NE - 2 tackles, 2 INT, 1 TD

Week 8 games will be due 10/27!
 
And Spiller can thank the EA servers for his award this week, lol. ;) I had CJ at 140 yards and 2 TDs in the first half in my game against Twick. When I replayed against the CPU, Mario Williams was blowing up my Oline, and I had to throw the ball a lot more. Kenny Britt did have 2 nice TD catches though (see DVO...I told you I use him, haha), so I guess that's good for his and Locker's progression.
 
Just had a great game with the Cowboys, came down to the final play. Giants pull out a 24-21 win. Just to put it out there, I had a 4th and inches in Cowboys territory but out of FG range with two minutes left. I opted to go for it, knowing that if I converted I could drain more of the clock. I was actually trying to draw the Cowboys offsides, and thought I did, which is why I snapped it. I converted the pass. Hope that wasn't something that's frowned on, but I thought it was something a real coach would do.

Sounds like a realistic play to me. If you punt it just outside of field goal range it usually ends up around a 15 yard net punt. Not worth it to me.

Yeah that was my thinking. Of course I almost blew it by later missing a 45-yard field goal with 30 seconds left. Man I hate Lawrence tynes in madden.

cgarb had trouble getting in touch with him last week. Like you said, the guy never posted in the thread, so I haven't bothered to change his contact info from DVO. But I guess DVO has been directing people to me when they ask about him. Considering this was one of DVO's "boys", that's not gonna fly. Feel free to message him on XBL, but if you don't hear back from him in a couple days, we may look for a replacement.

He just sent me a PM about our matchup a little while ago. I told him it was too late for us but that he should try to contact his opponent this week.
 
does anyone know The rams owner i have sent him a few messages and nothing back for the last 2 day the only reason im asking is because his availablity is vague, I was just wondering if anyone else knew how to get ahold of him?

Close game. I decided to start Ronnie Hillman today, and it played in my favor. Kaster was right about him, as he produced 171yrds and 3TDs.

Well, if he can communicate with his opponents, that's fine. I just don't want to have to deal with questions of "What's up with the Saints owner?" every week. I guess I could just put in the OP to contact him through XBL...but yeah, things do happen in the thread from time to time that people need to be aware of too. Not trying to kick the guy out. Just trying to find a common ground here.
 
Arian Foster better step it off before he finds himself on the trade block during the offseason. he better start having the big games i know he can have.

only way i would move him is for a WR. like a victor cruz type or a high draft pick in the first round and another player or pick to go with it
