CAGLS: Madden 13 Gentlemen's League - We Finished! Thanks for Playing!
Ok, I'm trying to figure this out since I screwed myself out of being able to re-sign any of my guys. Are you saying that the salaries page is now right? Because looking at that, it's now showing guys like Kenny Britt and others with 1 year remaining, but has an actual 2013 cap hit amount. Does this for sure mean these guys aren't going anywhere?
Well, like I said, I had the same thing you had with Britt, except it showed Harvin with one year left. We advanced and he still has one year left, but it's the 2013 salary this time. I don't know anything for sure, but it looks like everything's kosher.

right after my wifes show i plan on going into a hardcore investigation on this. and when i say hardcore i mean full out zoom of the P in the V and i plan on going deep on this one

Actually some players that need resigning are showing up under this for me. I think it's fucked at this point and we should just see what happens.

so far ive looked into every way people have talked about how they think it works and each way is flawed is going to be another wait and see wut happens kinda deal its looking like
I believe anyone on this list should remain on your team into free agency.
I'm hoping this is right because it is also updated with people who did have 2 years left on their deal, and now they have 1 year left. So, if it updated those guys properly...and left my other contracts as is...but moved the salary to 2013, I'm hoping that means they're good.

I looked at the player card contract thing, and I have no idea what the fuck that is. Britt's shows 1 year left, and the breakdown shows 208. I thought maybe it was indicating the year the deal was signed. But then I looked at Chris Johnson's, and his shows 4 years left, but the breakdown shows 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013. It's just all over the place.

They're showing up on the salaries page you mean...showing one year left with a 2013 salary cap hit?

im just hoping that the money it shows for 2013 thats taking a cap hit on everything goes away with the player and we get our money back or this could screw people.
They're showing up on the salaries page you mean...showing one year left with a 2013 salary cap hit?
Yes Brandon Jacobs is in there and maybe a couple of others.

FML...part of me selfishly really wants to make this next week an exclusive re-sign period as well. I'm completely fucked here (and so are the Colts and Jags). I looked at my salaries page, and counted the players...and it's showing 53. So...unless the CPU re-signed every single one of my guys, something isn't right.

lol i hate putting trades thru i cant even focus on anything else madden wise until i know my verdict. trades are like my crack and i just need my fix. damn it EA ur my drugs u bastards arent evne a good drug either

i dont think doing an exclusive week would be a bad idea but does that mean only signing people from our own team before we advance to the second part of open FA moves

EDIT: and also only go after players that should be on ur team not players that were just not gonig to sign anyways. im hoping mike wlallace still isnt in pittsburg i want him lol
i dont think doing an exclusive week would be a bad idea but does that mean only signing people from our own team before we advance to the second part of open FA moves
Yes, it would mean another week where you can only negotiate with your own players.

So basically I should have offered the guys I just resigned lower then what I did cause I'd get another crack at them...

thats not for sure really in the other league even if u were the only person to send a guy a contract offer they still wouldnt sign till the last week of FA and some would still even say fuck it i wont sign with anyone which i consider very odd  EA sports damn u

So something like this:

FA Week 1 (Say tomorrow from 8 PM until Thursday at 8 PM): Restricted FA
FA Week 2 (Say from Thursday night at 8 until Friday at 8): Free-for-all commences
FA Week 3 (Say from Friday at 8 until Saturday at 8): Free-for-all continues
FA Week 4 (Saturday at 8 until ?): Final round of FA
Draft:???

I am talking about right now. They just signed you immediately found out. If we were to have an exclusive week in open FA, I could have taken a risk offering these guys lower contracts this week. However, I overpaid to make sure I kept them. I didn't know I was going to get another week to offer them something.

Dude, me, the Jags, and the Colts all got fucked because we were on auto pilot when we advanced. I was so busy busting my ass to find replacements for teams I didn't know we were going to need to replace and sending PM's to people to try to get us advanced as quickly as possible, and preparing a PM to let everyone know the exact offseason procedures that I forgot to look at that before advancing. If you're that big of a prick that you can't cut somebody a little slack, then just run the league yourself. I'm fucking killing myself over here to make you guys happy, and you're going to bitch about this? Really?

All the colors of the rainbow are present.

i dont think i will make the draft if we draft sunday but its not like i have any good picks i wouldnt mind drafting on 17th of Dec. we might need to get a vote on the date of the draft
So basically I should have offered the guys I just resigned lower then what I did cause I'd get another crack at them...
I did the same thing with some of my guys.

I'm making this known now: I have the second overall pick and a few second rounders. The draft, therefore, is my Super Bowl. Now and likely for next year too sadly. If it's on a date I can't make (which will always be Monday-Thursday night) I will be hella pissed.

You may now resume your being scared of free agency.

I haven't offered any of my guys contracts yet, but I was only planning on doing so for 1 or 2 guys anyway, and I'm gonna wait til I'm sitting in front of the game in the morning to figure it out.

Just how laggy is this game for everyone? Because if it's just me, and this is how every one of my games will be, I'm not sure I can do this for a whole season.

hey blade during the offseason do u remember in the official league wut week we could actually put the trades thru in the game?
Just how laggy is this game for everyone? Because if it's just me, and this is how every one of my games will be, I'm not sure I can do this for a whole season.
Hit or miss. There were some people that I played that I had some lag issues. Other times it was fine.

Here's the thing, if I end up losing (or even having to get into a bidding war over) players like Britt or others that SHOULDN'T even be free agents according to what the salaries page says, I'll be dropping from the league. I'm not going to care to fix my team if it gets fucked up that badly all because of a simple oversight. So, if you want to push it that hard because you MAY have overpaid for a few of your guys, then we'll see how it plays out.

In any case Troy gave me a good throttling. My prediction is a 5-11 record.

Not trying to be a prick, but I am trying to get my side of things done for myself and the league as well. As such now other people get what could be considered an advantage. I would run or help run the league if necessary. I have been fine with everything that has been happening, everyone else is freaking out. I am just stating how it turned out for me, just as someone else expressed the same. I am not at fault for any of this.

If that happens, I would be in the same boat having Manningham, Akers, Justin Smith, and more go to FA.

Then you'll be better than me at any rate.

u could just give exculsive rights to team on certian players and if u cant sign them once preseason comes around u could sign them for hte one year deal then the next offseason work out a contract. problem solved people will have to use integrity of course. and we pretty much know all the big name stars that would have hit FA this year so people cant like. i know for a fact that d bowe and mike wallace wes welker if not signed now would have been released from there team becuz they all have one year left.

Nate, Nicks is not showing up (at least on the website) as someone I need to resign. I think you might be ok with Britts, since it seems they are on the same deal.

this times a MILLION. I'm losing three of my CB's, ROLB, LOLB, my left end, DT (and back up), and SS (and backup). I won't be even close to competitive losing the majority of my defense.

i think at this point we just need to advance and see wut happens really then work from there and figure it out. we are guessing here in the dark without really knowing wuts gonigto happen. its good to prepare for the worst and if it turns out good then thats fucking great and if it turns out bad for alot of people then we do need to develop a plan of some sort.
plus once we advance we can tell who is tryingto sign who in Fa becuz the teams helmet will go next to the person they are trying to make offers so we will know who is trying to be a total prick and cheat.

also n8 i dont want u to leave the league u built this league and its great but i think with u being the only commish it puts alot of pressure of u and u sometimes freak out becuz people are asking alot of u. maybe and this is just an idea u get a second or a second and third of command in this league so people arent always coming to u for stupid shit and take some of the pressure off. and if its something thats ify u talk within a pm together as a trio or if there is only two commishs then within the two of u.
If that happens, I would be in the same boat having Manningham, Akers, Justin Smith, and more go to FA.
You weren't able to offer contracts to any of those players just now tonight? I wasn't able to offer contracts to ANYONE. Because of being on auto pilot when we advanced, the CPU did all of my actions for me. I don't know who was offered deals, who accepted, or anything because it's all locked. The same situation applies for the Jags and Colts. But like I said, if you think cutting us a break would be so unfair, then whatever. But if it screws me, I doubt I'll stick around.

Everyone take a breath. Let's figure out a fair way to do this. Can the Colts, Jags and Titans figure out who they might have lost that they might have resigned? Maybe we can give them dibs, and just have those players only be available to those teams for week 1.

i think best thing to do right now is advance make sure everyones off auto and see wut happens from there and from there make the game plan to make it work becuz at this moment we are in the dark completely
i think best thing to do right now is advance make sure everyones off auto and see wut happens from there and from there make the game plan to make it work becuz at this moment we are in the dark completely
We really shouldn't advance until tomorrow though.

I'm not trying to freak out about it. But when I bring it up and people respond like selfish, ungrateful assholes, it bothers me. All I did after that was point out the reality that if it caused me to lose my best players, I probably wouldn't feel like playing anymore. If anything, I'm just being honest.
i think best thing to do right now is advance make sure everyones off auto and see wut happens from there and from there make the game plan to make it work becuz at this moment we are in the dark completely
I don't disagree...but that only works if everyone can control themselves and not submit offers immediately. I had planned on 24 hours for each week of the offseason anyway, to be fair to everyone who had to work. Being fair...what a novel concept.
Everyone take a breath. Let's figure out a fair way to do this. Can the Colts, Jags and Titans figure out who they might have lost that they might have resigned? Maybe we can give them dibs, and just have those players only be available to those teams for week 1.

ya, late tomorrow so everyone has an opportunity to get on.
I think this is the solution right here. Colts Jags and Titans owners figure out whats up with their teams (though if the Colts owner is really done as someone said he was several days ago) tomorrow and we advance once they have an idea of whats going on and can make necessary adjustments.

And I think you guys are being too hard on Blade, he was just griping about spending too much money on players, much like many of us CAGs do about our backlogs

Can someone (and I know this is a lot of work) check out the salary screens for the Colts, Jags and Titans, sort by 2013 cap hit, and see who shows up as 0. This way when we advance, we have a list of who may be there and who potentially should be left untouched for the moment. Then we can give those three times first dibs.
