CAGLS: Madden 13 Gentlemen's League - We Finished! Thanks for Playing!
Whatever you decide to do I am fine with. I just want to start playing again and get pass all this crap.
:applause:

well if they summit an offer u can look and see that they did on which player and everything i will help keep an eye out for it. and pm everyone and let them know wuts going on and y. and also in very big letters and with color added put only offer players contracts that were on ur team that contracts got messed up on and people can quote it to make sure its on every page the we progress thru in the thread

Wonderful, I was going to let Greg Jones leave in the offseason because I didn't want to play a FB almost 5 mil per season. Well since I was on auto when we advanced the AI decided to franchise tag him. fuck off EA.

ya, this shouldn't be difficult. make it so day two you can only bid on players that were on your team, and that goes for everyone. after that, free for all. that should solve any and all problems, and no one should have an issue with that, there is no reason to.

If players were signed, their new contracts should already be reflected. Welker and Moss's contracts show up as the new ones they accepted.
on thoughs 3 teams no one is at a 0 cap hit in 2013
I find it hard to believe that the CPU resigned every single player for all three teams. There again the CPU Jags franchised a fullback, so I'll believe anything at this point.

well in 2013 every player is getting paid something now there are players that arent getting paid shit in 2014.

so wut now r we advancing and seeing wut happens

any word on the new trade propsal i see atleast 4 guys that r in the committee that are online :)

Right but if you go to the Giants, I bet there are a bunch of players that say 0 for 2013, since I haven't done any resignings yet.

That was my conclusion as well...and why I suggested the extra day of exclusive negotiating. There's no way that can be right.

no one says zero in 2013 thats the messed up part u dont know who is actually leaving its part of the glitch ya i know lame right

Just checked. Everyone listed has some kind of salary for 2013. So who the hell knows now.

jza im just hoping we can make the trades work thru the website. we declined the trade we tested we wont know if it works until our trade passes or fails but i hope passes so we can test this shit out lol

I think it works. The Vikings and I just completed ours and I was able to see the offer from the website.

EA Sports. Who the hell knows.

New slogan. Thoughts?

They are. I'm able to see the player on my roster on the website. But if you want to double check, LT Matt Kalil went to the Giants.

DVO, I already did. I received Canty and Beatty, and he got Kalil. Dunno about the pick, but it should have worked as well.

All right. Then we're DEFINITELY doing another week (day) of exclusive negotiating. It's just completely unrealistic not to. Every team in the NFL KNOWS which players will be free agents. This "surprise" crap is stupid, and no team should be dealing with it. I'm sorry if that caused anyone to overpay for any of their players, but just be thankful you got them back. Some of us are trying to not lose 1/3 of our team here. I'd place that of a higher importance than worrying about a few cents on the dollar.

So, LET IT BE KNOWN, tomorrow (12/12) at 7:30 PM EST, we will be advancing to Stage #2 of the offseason. At that point, NO ONE is to make any contract offers to players who were not on your team this past season. Again, you will ONLY be allowed to negotiate with your own free agents. On 12/13 at 7:30 PM EST, free agency will be opened completely (barring any other catastrophic EA fuck ups).
Even the players signed to 1 year deals as our FA pickups have 2013 cap numbers so who knows.
i was able to sign the guys from my FA so the computer might have signed that guy for u.
i know one guy that i signed only wanted a 1 year deal as a backup qb

well im gonig to bed its late and im tired i guess i will find out tommrow if my new trade went thru or not good night everyone and a big fuck YOU to ea sports its messed up in the game
Can we make the last round of free agency a shortened round? I have to think there really won't be much left at that point.
Yeah, I'd be open to that. We don't need to take a full 24 hours if it's not necessary. Honestly, if we had everybody indicate that they were ready for any of these weeks, I'd be fine with advancing early.

I know it's still early to tell this, but any chance of the draft being Sunday evening?

Also, I think we can advance early as long as everyone selects ready to advance when they are done making their offers. That is what I've heard at any rate.

Once u make an offer on a player and he doesnt sign with anyone the next week after we advance ur offer will still be there with the player until he picks one he likea or declines them. So fa really doesnt have to take that long at all. Which i. Ok now goodnight everyone lol

Posting this again for the new page

So there's one downside to making Week 1 a restricted week. It allows teams another shot at resigning players that they didn't want to or had negotiations end with during the regular season. May not matter in the end though.

That's true. But in some cases, it may actually be somewhat fair, considering how many owners we've replaced this past season, and how many players the new owners never got a chance to negotiate with. Honestly, I'm not even sure doing this is a real "solution" depending on if the player behaves differently in open free agency than he would beforehand.

Like if Britt is in fact a free agent, and I make him an offer, and he doesn't accept it...and waits for the following week to get offers from other teams, then I'm still screwed. I guess the assumption you have to make is that he would have done that anyway with the offer had I been able to make one during Stage 1.

My only concern is if I make him an offer, will he actually accept/decline it right away...the same as he would have during Stage 1? Ultimately, I feel like it's the best we've got...and at least giving everyone first dibs on any players they didn't get a chance to negotiate with is the most fair thing we can do.

Yeah good point. I'm wondering if I should self-regulate myself and not make any offers for the guys that said fuck off to me during the regular season (one really in particular) until Week 2.

You don't find out till the next week if they accepted.
I figured the Pats would look different. That's cool with me, just looking to play in an active league with a good group.
Sounds good. Just need your sign up info (Gamertag, time zone, general availability) and I'll send you an invite.

Never mind beaten to it.

Gamertag is XboxChromosome, central time zone. Generally on around 7 p.m. through the week, and all weekend. Pretty flexible with hours as I work from home most days.

Why do we need to rush it? 24 hours is a fair time for each period, especially with people having full work schedules and the timing of the last day likely being Saturday or Sunday (when a lot of people are out of town). I dont see a need to rush through FA signing here.

Any way we can push back the advance time closer to say 10pm EST or even later? I don't know exactly when we advanced last night, but it seemed late and with a normal work day I wouldn't even walk into the door until 7pm EST. Unfortunately, it won't be a normal one and I won't get back til 930pm or so. This 1st round seems to be the most important so I figured a few extra hours wouldn't be too bad. And I want to resign my guys (I don't even know who is a FA yet).

We advanced at 7:30 PM EST last night...the plan was to do 24 hours. Is there a reason you didn't do your stuff last night? Because of the various problems with free agency, we're making Week 2 an exclusive negotiating week also. So, your guys won't exactly be on the open market if you don't re-sign them this week.
any word on trades yet? :)
Trades are being put on freeze right now because there have been some proposals with players with the dreaded "1 year remaining" issue. Not saying yours was one of them...but it made more sense to just take a timeout from trading until we see who is actually available to be traded.

ok i know mines not one of them i checked lol becuz i knew that would be an issue with the trades. well i guess i better pm jza and tell we wont be meeting up during my lunch break

Had an office holiday party last night and didn't get back until late. No need to make any special arrangements for me though. I'm sure I can manage. My biggest problem will be not knowing who was on the Rams last year and who I have first dibs at. I just don't know this team very well yet. I don't think there's anything that says who their former team was (could be wrong on this).
