CAGLS: Madden 13 Gentlemen's League - We Finished! Thanks for Playing!

Anyone interested in LT Chad Clifton(88 Overall)? I'm looking for players at CB, FS, LOLB, TE or WR. Let me know if you're interested. Don't want any draft picks, but I'll throw in some of mine. Shoot me a PM if you wanna talk. Will take a downgrade(ratings wise).

49ers send
mario manningham overall 77
age 27
contract remaining 2 years
Bonus 2 Million
2012- 3.61 million
2013- 4.39 million

he needs a decent CB where im still needing more help at WR since stephen hill hasnt done much for me its pretty much been the aj green show when it comes to passing need more threats in that area to help dalton get better and open the running game for foster
TRADE REJECTED

The committee felt that despite Newman's OVR, his age had to be greatly taken into consideration. Being 34 puts him at great risk to see his effectiveness take a sharp decline. Most felt that Manningham was worth more than this type of player and a 6th round pick. His contract isn't even really that big of an issue to consider it a "dump" either.
Even trades get through the process more quickly than lopsided ones. Kind of common sense, no?
Common sense isn't so common anymore.
Common sense isn't so common anymore.
Indeed. I'm going to start caling it "uncommon sense". I suggest that everyone else does the same. Who says we can't change the world? lol

Oh sure, he couldn't do it before Week 1 so I could have played the AI and maybe gotten a win? Aww who am I kidding, I probably would have still lost.
I was just informed that the Cowboys owner is going to have to drop. So, I guess Dallas is available again.
He hasn't left yet, so I'll play the CPU when you boot him.
He hasn't left yet, so I'll play the CPU when you boot him.
Yeah, I told him not to leave for now, until we find a replacement. I just like the idea of having an owner tagged to each team so I can control what they can do a little better (toggling auto pilot), rather than having the CPU just do whatever it feels like. I'll get on now to switch him to auto pilot so you can play though.

I'm happy to get these empty spots filled so quickly. I just want to put out there (and of course this isn't directed at anybody specific...I just don't want it to become a "you never told us that" thing) that when bringing new people into this league, I want them to be active in the thread. First and foremost, this is a community league. I don't want to see it dominated by a bunch of people who couldn't give a crap about CAG, and aren't active on here.

What I would LOVE to see happen though is for new people to discover CAG and to join us in our discussions and our banter. That's the type of growth I want to see. But I don't think anybody here wants to be getting their ass handed to them by someone who never shows his face in the thread. Don't be surprised if we start weeding out those kind of members after season one. My #1 priority will always be protecting the contributing members of this league. It's up to each individual player to determine whether that includes them or not.

Bears beat the Cowboys on a last second field goal 21-20.

Damn. This was a tight CPU game. I kicked five FGs total. Cutler didn't have an open look downfield almost all game because the O-line let everybody through.

your kicker must be getting close to his goal.

TRADE REJECTED

The committee felt that the 49ers were getting too good of a return here. Vontae Davis is a pretty beastly CB and Fleener can be groomed pretty easily to do exactly what Vernon Davis does. San Francisco either needs to throw in another player or a draft pick to balance this one out better.

How high of a pick are we talking?

Would a 4th round pick work?

Obviously, I can't answer this. The trade is reviewed by 5 different people. All I can tell you is that as is, the committee didn't think the trade was fair. Talk it out with the Colts and submit another proposal.

Really don't think this trade was that far off that it should've been rejected. That's why I don't like the idea of a strict committee. It should prevent totally unfair trades that ruin the balance of the league or destroy one team. It shouldn't nitpick trades that are pretty even but not exactly 100% fair.

this is why we needed a committe to stop trades like this.

Dude, how can you not see that while you chastize others for coming in here and questioning another person's sportsmanship, you pretty much continuously complain about league policies? lol.

It's in the league's best interest to "nitpick" trades like this because when the better teams in the league is pulling one over on one of the weaker teams in the league...all it does is widen the competitive gap. Blade has already found plenty of success with a good 49ers team. This rich get richer mentality is only going to hurt the league.

We don't need ANYBODY building up some unstoppable power house team just because they come out ahead on each and every trade. If we allowed stuff like that to happen, I can promise you, there wouldn't be a league to play in anymore. Do you not understand that? The trade committee is here to PROTECT the league...just as the policy of not running up the score to gain more XP is here to protect the league. I'm really tired of having to defend these policies. If you disagree with them so strongly, you're welcome to leave.

We have advanced to Week 5! I hope everybody got the player they wanted from free agency, because signing free agents is now OFF LIMITS again until we either have another free agency week...or the offseason begins.

Week 5 games will be due by 10/15!

Wait, so we can't sign a free agent if we haven't had a chance to get one yet? My group didn't come up until yesterday and I wasn't able to get online last night to get my free agent. Was planning on signing someone tonight. Is that not allowed now?

Well, that's how we've done it in the past. If the majority feels it's fair to let everyone get one player regardless of how long it takes them, I'm open to discussing that.

You don't have to give everyone an unlimited amount of time, but if you were in group 7 or 8 and you didn't have a chance to log on last night you are SOL now. Group 1 has had several days to get with the program and select a free agent, but 7 and 8 not so much. I was guessing I would be in group 7 or 8 but I had no idea until it was actually announced or when it would be announced. I just had to keep checking back randomly throughout the day which sometimes slips my mind when I am really deep in my work. I didn't see the post for group 7 until this morning actually and I can't sign anyone until I get home and log into the game.
I agree with giving group 7 and 8 today to sign someone, everyone else has gotten plenty of time.
This. Plus kaster (not sure what group he's in).

All you had to do was look at the overall team rankings in the game and you could figure out what group you were going to be in. Also, posting in here guarantees you that player.

Just had a pretty good game with DVO to move to 5-0. It was a lot closer than the 35-7 final score shows. Aided by fumbles by both sides, the game was only 7-7 with about a minute left in the first half. That's when Pacman Jones jumped an out route to Aj Green for a 31 yard pick 6 to make it 14-7(talk about redemption). Then coming out of half, I returned the kickoff 99 yards to make the game 21-7 and the rest was history. Ryan Tannehill quietly having a very good first 5 games of the year. 139.1 qb rating, 10 td's to only 2 int's, 67 comp% and 14.3 YPA
