I got out of class at 2030 so its not like I had time to post from there to when I got home.

Plus he was online when I signed on so it didn't look like he was going to cancel our game. After he had signed off I checked the board and saw he had posted that there was miscommunication with us which in don't believe we had.

There is definitely a clear division in skill in this league. Maybe we need to start a third league for guys like me who are just learning and really want to just enjoy their time playing and not take time out of our schedules to get blasted and regret your time investment 5 minutes into the game...

Do we need another league?
 
well considering the bears have only played 2 teams that were .500 or better and they are 7-1 from a loss to the packers and the other team that was .500 or better was onl .500 so in my mind the bears record isnt as great as it looks. they will get a true test when they play the texans and then after that the 49ers and after that they will be 7-3 and then will lose the packers again later and season will end 12-4 becuz other than the packers twice 49ers and texans that schedule is cake. most likely get a bye week in the playoff and lose to the first team they play in the playoffs.
 
for sure DVO, their schedule has been easy as can be and they've gotten beat by the one good team they played (packers).

and for all the guys dropping out because of skill, I feel you on that. There is a big skill divide between players, but I go into most games knowing I'll get beat but I just try to make it not a complete blow out. Though I do agree that Blade's skill set is pretty high for this league.

Yeah, sorry. I've been having internet trouble today. They're re-roofing my building, and I wouldn't think that would have anything to do with it, but you never know. It seems to be stable at the moment, so I'll try to get on and advance us now.
 
Obviously there going to be a division of skill. Even if we took all players in both leagues, ranked them, and put the top 1/2 in the other league and the lower half in this league there will still be players that don't win many games and players that do. Also, the hardest part of my schedule is coming up. If lyric had let it get to the second half I would have dialed it backed greatly. It didn't help him that Steven Jackson got knocked out the game in the first quarter which made him almost exclusively have to pass. He stopped at least 2 drives of mine too. All the turnovers gave me the ball in a very favorable field position or resulted in a pick 6, my defense was winning this game for me. I believe I am not even the best player in this league and wish I wasn't being singled out.

I think having a fantasy draft or assigning teams based on skill would have been more favorable to me. I am for trying to balance the competition to make it more fair for everyone. Not that it's really an option at this point.
 
Well, it doesn't help when people can't even be bothered to practice, put in the time to get better, or even play their games against the CPU. I know there have been some "communication" issues, among other things, but these are the games that went unplayed this week:

Raiders vs Ravens (Flyersfan's 360 RROD'd...but he's been on auto pilot the entire time...and he posted saying that. Game could have been played any time)
Falcons vs Saints (superstar took over the Saints...but it seemed like some communication was taking place...just nothing resulted)
Cowboys vs Eagles (major miscommunication here. One person says a time was agreed to...the other says nothing could be worked out)
Rams vs 49ers (lyric rage quit the game and then quit the league. Blade could have played the CPU immediately afterward...but I'm guessing he didn't feel like it. Not really his fault here).

Ultimately, this is my thought on "skill disparity", I make it my #1 priority to make sure that nobody in this league is just unbeatable. That's the one thing I don't want in the league. People can say that fantasy rosters would help...but when you see teams like the Dolphins dominating, it kinda blows up that theory (though that's also why Chetty most likely won't be back for Season 2).

There is NO WAY to get better at Madden without taking some beatings. I took plenty last year..and have taken a few this year myself...and in that span of time, I've probably played close to 200 games of Madden. If you quit the league now, you might as well never come back (meaning for Madden 14, 15, etc) because you won't be any better off...and the people who stuck with it will have just gotten better. You WILL NOT get better at this game unless you put the time in and ask for help and advice.

I don't want to sound doom and gloom, but that's the reality of it. Quitting now is just going to get you further and further behind. The purpose of this league is to limit that. It doesn't mean you won't take beatings. But the people handing them out won't be so heavy handed with them and are willing to help you get better. If you don't take advantage of that, like I said, you might as well never pick up the game again.
 
So twick sent me a message saying to play the CPU, but then I see he posted in here saying hes leaving the league. So you want me to wait and see if he will be replaced? I can wait until the due date and then play it then if you'd like.

Pretty much, I didn't think to see if he had dropped the league in Madden after the game.

I am throwing this out there for anyone that loses to me, and wants to know what they could have done PM me. I'll give you advice on what can be changed or improvements to make. However, what I do works to my strengths, and may not necessarily work for you or the team you have.

A good example of improved players are you and Doc. Both of you have gotten better since last year.
 
Some people here really don't know football if they are questioning the Bears record. If you question there's then who has anybody beaten?

We'll have to wait and see the Bears eat alive the Texans but we'll get excuses like the Texans don't play well in prime time or something.

Dude, as a Bears fan, would you please just shut up. We don't need a bunch of "my team is the best/better than your team" crap in here. We all have our favorite teams, there's no reason to act like a douche towards anyone over it.
 
seems like we been losing owners here lately not good.

as for the bears we will see what happens but im not a texans or 49ers fan at all. but i will say this my cowboys suck and i wish the team owner would stop being the GM. and our schedule didnt help us this year at all. every team we have faced has been over .500 but one. and yes ballinhun becuz i know this will come the bears beat the shit out of us. but like i said the cowboys arent the team to be beating and making a big deal out of.
 
Am more than ready to join. I've never missed a game in the other league. So that should make ya'll happy with these latest posts. ;)

I would have been on ready to play at 9 had i known you were going to be there to play. I never got a conformation that you were going to play then, i just sent you a PM saying that i could play until 930 that night and never heard from you. I left my xbox on last night and shut it off late because i never knew the game was going down and was checking CAG for a response.

I'm not upset about it but I just don't want it go down as i "skipped" out on the game.

Either way Eagles/Redskins is scheduled for tomorrow at 630est

Yeah, it's just a matter of finding the right people. I figured we'd have a reasonably high turnover rate this year with so many new owners. But I'm really not even phased by the owners who come and go. I'm much more encouraged by the new owners we've gained who fit in well with the league.

Anybody that we can add as a "veteran" member, who is someone we can count on moving forward is a great thing. Even if we have 3 bad new members for every 1 good new member, to me that's a win. Just gotta keep pressing on.

I'm getting to you, man. Sorry it's taking a little long. My internet has been unreliable all day today. I thought I had messaged Ubernes earlier today to ask him if he wants one of the two available teams, but I just figured out that the message didn't go through. I think I've figured out that my wifi card in my PC crapped out. I'm running on a shitty USB adapter now, but at least I'm operational. Once Uber gets back to me, you'll be next.

Yeah, this is why better communication is needed. People make it out to be much harder than it needs to be. Not going to bother assigning blame here. I just didn't really feel either one of you deserved to play the other's CPU. It's one thing if the issue is completely one sided, but when neither person really knows what's going on, a sim is the most fair thing.

Gp I'm going to snag the Rams so you're not stuck with them twice, plus I want to get out of the AFC East and switch things up as well. Excited to be on board and get some more Madden in my life!
 
The Giants have claimed a week 11 victory, defeating the Bye Week in a shutout. Hopefully we can carry this momentum into the final six weeks of the season.

Just lost connection with Blade, down 21-0 in the 3rd. The lag was horrible, which was a big part of the reason I was down. Most of my button presses weren't recognized and it wouldn't let me audible at the line.

If n8 or Blade feel like he should play the CPU, that's fine. It is what it is.
