So one day I had to come up with a name to use when playing Armagetron (a 3D tron game) with my friends. After watching monty python and the holy grail recently I thought hey sir fragalot sounds cool with the old midevil sort of theme and thats it.

Well, 'Mr.' because and I'm a man and that's the proper way to address a gentleman, and 'Unoriginal' because that's what I am.

It's kind of like Wayne's World when they go to see that band.

"The Shitty Beatles, are they any good?"
"No, they suck."
"Oh, so it's not just a clever name."

Britney, before you go, there's something I want you to have.
Oh, it's beautiful! But wait a minute, isn't this...
...yeah, yes it is.
But I though the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end?
Well baby, I went down and got it for you.
Aww, you shouldn't have.

Mine is from a line in a Foo Fighters song. I came up with it when I was about 19 and used it as an email address, and then I just started using it for forums. I don't even really like it anymore, but, it works.

When Quake III Arena came out on Dreamcast I went by a couple of different names. One was Modeseven, another was War Machine, and the other was Guile (one of my favorite gaming characters). When I was invited to a Quake clan it was the *NK* clan (NK for Nefarious Killers) and I was Guile*NK*.

Once the clan died, I decided to just go with GuilewasNK since I WAS in the NK clan. I just did that so if people run into me online from those days they will recognize me.

Sad part is is that I remember that from somewhere.

Also, post more.

From last year's thread:
Mine originated in high school from the tennis team. My junior year, one of the team captains was Atticus. Seriously, it was. Anyway, one match he wasn't with the team, so it was decided that I would be interim captain for the day. Someone had the brilliant idea that my name should be changed to more accurately fill in for Atticus. So, as I had often enough been nicknamed "Bott" (first initial, last name), "Botticus" was born.

It was better than "Oatmeal," my other tennis nickname (again based on my lastname... I think I've only eaten oatmeal once in my life). But that lent itself to the quality moniker "Instant Oatmeal" when I displayed my speed and prowess on the court.
My username is my name, Hank, combined with the Ted Nugent song, "Yank Me, Crank Me." I needed a new name for my email and whatnot, and all the ones I wanted were taken, so I came up with this one.

My XBL and PSN names come from the address of a sandwich shop I like a lot. It's on the corner of Viking St. and Longwood Ave., and I thought it would be a sweet porn name. They have a big sign that says Viking Longwood Market. I need to get a picture of it.

Well, I know I've done this before, but I couldn't find it in the thread botticus linked to, so I guess it was before that.

Its hard to remember now, I think it was the P.E. coach I had in middle school who also happened to be the football coach. He'd end some of his sentences with "are we clear?" and the expected response was "crystal." Dunno why but that stuck with me as kinda cool. I just changed the C to a K and added a 64 in honor of the best console ever ;)

Also, refresh my memory: was Landstalker the Zelda clone with the surprisingly good graphics and mindblowingly horrendous controls? Or am I thinking of something else?
It was an action RPG with good graphics and controls, but it was isometric. There were some really wild jumps in the game, and you either got the feel of the pseudo-3D or you really hated the game.

I thought the game was remarkable because it really felt like a living, breathing place. The characters and dialogue were great. The adventure was fun. Even the townspeople seemed alive -- they'd change what they would say based on circumstances in the game, and had more than one stock line like most RPGs.

I believe it's on Virtual Console now, and there was supposed to be a PSP remake but I don't know what happened to it.

I started reading the Wheel of Time series when I was around 15. For the last 10 years I've been using some reference from the books for all of my username's, emails, etc. As for the '23', lol I feel old for the first time in my life.. hehe do any of you kids even remember Michael Jordan?
^ twas a good day, and quite a few people called me "lil boo"..and my one friend currently shortened it and calls me "LB".

I don't have many gay friends.. most of my friends are straight.. my biggest hobby (gaming) is a predominately straight..so of course I have to know how to take a joke :) (But to be honest, none of that stuff actually really bothers me at all)

..And plus. I wasn't kidding with my response either.. /tmi

 hooray, I'm bringin culture to people's lives! wooooot!

So you just thought I was being sarcastic w/ what I've been saying? Is that what you meant?

Mine is a nickname I acquired while in the military and is a play on my last name Neuman. Most "guys" say, "what's up dog" to a fellow buddy/friend and one of my NCOIC's would say "What's up neudog" and I've kept it ever since. My wife even got me a custom Dallas Cowboys jersey with the name. This nickname is the only thing keeping me from changing my last name; long story.:p

JJSP = JJ, as I've been called since I was 7 or 8. SP, as I used to work at Smartpunk.com. Since I'm not there anymore, I guess I should come up with something better for SP to stand for.

TipYourMerchGuy (XBL) = Everyone knows the merch guy at shows. He's that dude who sells you a t-shirt and has a "tip jar" set up to help fund his trip around the world doing a thankless job. I've done merch for a few local bands back home as well as a few you've probably heard of, hence the name.

Silly Putty :D

Mine is apparently a common last name. I pulled it from US Census data when I was writing a story. I won't go into details but the bunny avatar is related.

Common misconception: my nick is not derived from Charon, the moon of Pluto/ferryman of the river Styx.

I also frequently use the name Kiya Ichiko when Charron is taken. That's my Japanese name, as given to me by a friend. It (very loosly) translates into "girl geek". So yea.
I AM WILLIAM H. MACY!!!!!!!! :whistle2:x
bobo2k4 -- that is freaking awesome, mine is a derivative of my last and my hometown, Saint Louis. Also, Wombat was taken...

Thomas96 - my name plus the year I graduated High School.

Thomaticus [Toh mah te-Kus]- came about as a result of me trying to determine what my name would be if i was a transformer. But since I've found that it sounds good outside the world of transformers.

i got written up in highschool for sleeping in class 65 days in a row and the teachers started calling me the sleep king.

Put the y in there to make it easier to register on forums.

I rapped in high school. After high school I developed a sort of self awarement that you shouldn't portray yourself to be a gangster in music, whether you are one or not, because it's a life you should be using music to get away from and a life you shouldn't encourage to people listening to your music.

I got so disgusted with lyricists trying to proclaim their hard life and how gangster they are, that I got sick of rappers/entertainers altogether. For a while I started going around making diss tracks about people in my local neighborhood, calling them out on it.

One guy actually got me good, telling me that I was criticizing people for using false images, when I have a nickname to push my own tracks. So after that, I gave up a nickname and started saying I was Nameless. (Yes, this was before the movie Hero)

I started using NamelessMC - "Nameless master of ceremonies" as a forum name, also because me and my ex girlfriend had a really heart breaking end, I didn't want her friends continually rubbing it in with their "that's so sad" talk, so to get away from all them, I got a new AIM, a new MSN address, a new forum name, all that, changed my number, moved. You know. Typical "I broke up with my fiance, we were gonna get married" crap.

The name kind of stuck by me even though I don't rap as much as I used to. Whenever I do rap, I go by my regular name, because I don't believe in creating a mask to make yourself more glorified than you are. I'm just "Sonny Ojeda" as far as you know. No nicknames, no capes, no masks, no bullshit.
