Hey Everyone;
Yesterday was a loooooooong day. I was at the studio till 3 - 4 in the morning sending out Beta Invites to the very small lucky few who got into the early first wave of the beta.

Tokens are still going out randomly to the Charlieoscardelta.com members who sent in emails to the First Wave during the 24 hour period. However, keep in mind that the First Wave was just a bonus early chance to get into the beta. So all of those upset you missed the first wave, it was simply an EXTRA way to get in on top of the Charlie.com exclusive sign-up coming via the Countdown which will be posted today.

So be on the look out for a new SitRep coming along very shortly which will give you full details on the CharlieOscarDelta member exclusive Beta sign up, updates on International participation in the Beta, as well as heads up additional planned ways to get a token outside of CharlieOscarDelta.com.

In Conclusion:

Don't get all crazy over nothing, all we did yesterday was allow you a bonus and to top that off, EARLY chance to get your hands on some beta. If you got in, that's fantastic, congrats and enjoy, if you didn't then you still have hundreds of thousands of other ways to get in coming up very shortly.

PS. Don't hate on me if I'm not in here answering every question as I normally am, I'm hard at work getting more of you into the beta as we can.

No one has to, Its all on the OP. Information on how to enter the lotto with answers, to what deadite76 just posted about how there will be many more opportunities to enter after this lotto ends. help1 and I will keep everything updated on the OP.

Another thread will just cause confussion.
 
This game is insanely fun. Hopefully they raise the level cap when the actual public beta starts. So far it's becoming a day 1 purchase for me.
 
If anyone thinks they aren't very good at this game and would like me to prove them wrong later, then add me. I'm effing awful! Great game, though.

I'm really getting pissed off with all this talk of the countdown, the beta, just fucking tell us the date and time and leave it at that...fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!

We've got a big announcement!

Today we kicked off the German Games Convention 2007 by revealing the worldwide release date for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare: On Monday, November 5, CoD4:MW will begin deployment to retailers worldwide!

We know you've been waiting for confirmation on the ship date for some time and we thought the biggest games convention in the world was the perfect place to announce one of the biggest ship dates of the year. COD4:MW stormed into Leipzig with one of the biggest showings at the convention this year. COD4:MW will feature a theater presentation by members of the Infinity Ward team in the Activision booth, an exclusive hands-on multiplayer and single player experience for lucky attendees, as well as a hands-on party on Wednesday night for more than 500 of our closest friends.

After playing a couple hours last night, I think it's safe to assume Juggernaut is going to be the most popular perk. Without it you almost die faster than in GRAW. Good for realism, but it's no joke when you repeatedly spawn near the action, like that primarily indoors level. Lots of kills from behind there.
 
This is the dumbest way to handle a beta..... ever.

1) The website is for 18 and up, even though ESRB Mature is 17+, the COD4 team apparently really want adults only, then they go and bypass ALL of that allowing kids to play as long as they send some random facts straight to their email... okay?
2) People sent in several emails and got several invites, nice job there, real secure! Maybe just maybe require people to put their gamertags.
3) People got into the beta with wrong answers to the questions, why are they even there?
 
Glad yall are still getting invites but this sucks I got nothing and I submitted right after Syngamer last night. Oh well at least Bioshock is incredible. :D

Sadly, Bioshock should be here tomorrow or Friday...but since i own that, i'll likely wait to play it until after the beta is over :)

That's IW's error, if you're referring to the level cap. There's two spots on the site that gave differing answers. I don't remember where people got the 11 from, but the 20 is from a screenshot specifically stating the cap is 20. It's definitely 11, because I was in a game with fourzerotwo for about 5 or 6 rounds and his level never went beyond 11 despite racking up points like crazy.
 
So are they just choosing from the pool of emails they received once or are they doing it like every 12 hours or something

fourzerotwo said he would take both 11 and 20 as the answer because of that mistake, so yeah. Some people have stated they got the questions about the control scheme wrong. Heck, some people didn't even post a gamertag and have said to get a token, but I'm not sure whether to believe those stories or not.
 
They should have picked the people whom played COD2 and COD3 online and have a decnt rank. I don't think a n@@b to COD should be in the beta until all the COD Vets get there chance. If that was so I wouldn't be typing this and I would be playign right now ;)
 
are you guys getting these invites in your email? or on xbox live? also, i submitted at about 3pm EST today... was today the 24 hour period, or was it yesterday?

Email. The 24hr period was 8/21 5pm PT-8/22 5pm PT.
 
All e-mails have went out. Word on the site is they are doing it by rank of members now. However only official word I could find is it will all be handed out first come first serve Monday at noon.

On Monday, August 27th at 12pm Pacific Daylight Time, tokens to download the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Xbox 360 Multiplayer Beta will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. While Charlie Oscar Delta's tokens are linked to United States Xbox Live accounts only, we will be rolling the COD4:MW MP BETA out to additional select countries in early September. We will be posting the information here, at BETA HQ, so please check back for updates for your country.

More good news! If for some reason you can't get a BETA token code via Charlie Oscar Delta, there will be more opportunities in early September to obtain North American token codes, including at GameSpot.com. We will share that information with you soon. Stay logged on to BETA HQ for all of the details.

Remember, at noon on Monday the 27th, Charlie Oscar Delta's United States COD4:MW MP BETA token codes will be released on a first come, first serve basis. To participate in the BETA you need to be 18 or older, own an Xbox Live Gold membership based in the United States, have 1 gig of space on your Xbox360's Hard Drive and be able to answer 3 trivia questions correctly. They will test your Call of Duty prowess; but don’t worry, we have a feeling you'll be able to figure them out! :)

We will send your token code to the email address you provide during the registration process. If using an email client such as Yahoo, Gmail, or Hotmail, be sure to check your junk mail folder. Also, please add [email protected] to your address book. This will ensure that you don't miss out on any of the action. Infinity Ward will be sending out Token Codes in batches to ensure the Xbox Live servers are ramped up at a safe pace. So we all know how Mon will be on the Beta Site right? Remember Amazon's 99.99 Xbox 360 Core? Yea the fucking site will crash and burn like amazon did for 30 mins. :D
 
Hmm...I think I know why I didn't get in the beta now. However, come Friday, that will not be a problem.
I hope however I know the questions.

NOW they will do first come first serve? I have a class on monday starting exactly at noon, fuck.

I sent in my email at 9:30 PST last night, of course that meant nothing.
 
How the hell they gonna have sign ups on a monday AT NOON!!? If you have a normal job you are screwed! AND 1st come 1st serve as well that is crap...... Just noticed it's pacific time..... Luckily I get off at that time east coast time so if I come straight home and TRY to avoid all the traffic I might still get in....


EDIT again: IS it pacific time?? when I go to the site the count down is for noon my time... EST..
 
Well for me it will be at 2 and I'm out of work and out of school. When I was working it was a day I would have went in on, but as long as I went in Saturday and Sunday it didn't matter what day I went the rest of the week. So I would have just went in a different day then monday.
