Call Of Duty: Ghosts

So is the freefall map going to be in the box like Nuketown was last year? I am thinking of waiting on a price drop to $40 in Dec (it happens like clockwork it seems) but I also want that map.

anyone see the upgrade to one for $10 from microsoft? i wonder if i buy a retail copy i can do that, or do i have to download the digital version? if so i might just go that route instead of the pre-order, only if i can play on either at anytime.

We’ve just been sent images of the Call of Duty: Ghosts playlists that will be available at launch. As we reported earlier today, the Ghosts MP servers went live, and with that the playlists have been revealed.

To start, there is no ground war. This doesn’t mean it won’t happen on next-gen, but for current gen, it’s absent. It should also be noted that there is no Search and Destroy.

You have 3 main options to chose from, Standard, Hardcore, and Clan vs. Clan. We already know what the standard modes are.

For the hardcore players, there’s only 3 modes:

  • Hardcore TDM
  • Kill Conformed
  • Search & Rescue
For Clan Vs Clan, there’s 2 modes:

  • Clan Team Deathmatch
  • Clan Objectives
The Standard modes are:

  • Team Deathmatch
  • Cranked
  • Blitz
  • Search and Rescue
  • Infected
  • Kill Confirmed
  • Domination
  • Hunted
  • Free-for-all
  • Team Tactical
As IW has said, the playlists can always be changed, and there can be more added.

errrrrrrrrrr domination used to always be day one game mode in hard core and that stoped in bo2 then later came into game my guess is we see it in the game within hte first month like bo2 it's the most populer game mode behind hc TD

In Call of Duty: Ghosts Extinction, you and three others will fight off an alien infestation in the aftermath of the events that took place during the single player campaign.

You can go in blind hoping for the best, but the newly introduced co-op game mode will reward those who fulfill their duty in specific roles and work together as a team. You’ll be able to play as one of four classes, each with their unique ability and advantages.

Recently, developers Infinity Ward have detailed each class so you’ll know what you’re getting into when Call of Duty: Ghosts launches this November 5.

Check out the specifics below, and don’t forget to catch some of the latest gameplay showing off the new mode in action.

Weapon Specialist

  • 20% more bullet damage.
The Weapon Specialist focuses on one vital task: destroy as many aliens as possible. The extra bullet damage really comes in handy when dealing with heavily armored threats or when fighting back a swarm of smaller enemies. Weapon handling continues to improve as the Weapon Specialist gains levels.

Tank

  • 25% more health.
The brute of the group, Tanks stand at the front and take hits that would otherwise knock out other, more fragile classes. The extra health lets you play more aggressively, getting into the thick of things and coming out alive. Additional levels further improve the Tank’s health in addition to their lethality.

Engineer

  • Provide armor for the drill and earn more bonus cash.
Without a functioning drill, your team will have a very difficult time progressing. The Engineer offers much needed protection to the team’s drill, incredibly useful during moments when you get overwhelmed. Drill maintenance and trap efficiency improve as the Engineer gains levels.

Medic

  • Revive allies more quickly.
When things go wrong – and they will go wrong – the Medic’s there to pick up the pieces and get the team back in fighting condition. Fast revivals can mean the difference between success and failure, and an active Medic can help turn the tide of an intense battle. The Medic gains faster movement speed and powerful healing abilities with additional levels.

November 5 is almost here, and if you’re planning to play Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox 360, I have a little info to help you make sure you’re properly prepared.

Ghosts will require a little space and time to install its single-player campaign data. This should be less than 3GB of space, but you’ll want to make sure you’ve either cleared space or you’ve got an appropriate USB flash drive ready.

Ghosts will play on an Xbox 360 with an internal 4GB flash drive. Also, any compatible USB 2.0 flash drive (formatted for Xbox) with enough free space will work, including thumb drives. If you’re not sure if your thumb drive will work or how to format it for use with your Xbox 360, simply follow these instructions.

If you’re just planning to head to the multiplayer lobbies first thing, you won’t need to install anything – you can jump in right away, and soak up that special launch weekend of double XP.

Also, remember that the dynamic MP map Free Fall (a bonus with preorders) is an additional download, so you’ll need a little room for that too. That should be less than 250MB.

It bothers me that this is the least excited I've ever been for a COD game and watching streams this weekend with people complaining about crap spawns (we know IW is infamous for this) and the horrible "lag".  I was hopeful that they would have focused on improving the net code but realistically I didn't think they would in that short time.  I'm curious how MP performance is on the Xbox One and PS4.

Granted, I am still picking up the game tomorrow but probably not the usual Hardened/Prestige/CE version I typically do.  I'm more excited to play with old friends then necessarily on the game itself.

One quick question. I'm looking at getting the hardened edition for the kids and me. Do the in game bonuses and added player features unlock for all the Live users on the same console?

Quick question just rented it from Redbox and only got one disc. Is the whole single player campaign included on that single disc?

Campaign is pretty awful, like, Warfighter awful. Some MP modes are pretty great, though. Cranked is brilliant.

Graphics look dated but don't all CoDs?

Got about 3 hours of MP in tonight and my early verdict is just meh.  Honestly the last CoD MP I enjoyed a lot was BLOPs.  I just prefer Treyarch over IW now I think.  Even with bigger maps I was getting spawn killed more than one should.  I will play this weekend for the 2XP and see where it goes from there.  So far it seems like BF4 was an easier jump in, play and enjoy experience for me.

Side note: Is it me or the loadout setup a little over complicated.  Also, are there no longer bonus XP for doing things like getting a certain amount of kills with a weapon?  I could not find where that was at all.

i've always thought treyarc made the better MP maps, and IW was better with the campaign.

was stoked to hear raven soft were taking part in ghosts though. makes me think the MP maps should be much better this time.  fondly remember the first FPS that hooked me; soldier of fortune 2, and the map layouts raven did were great.

so i'm hopeful.

The maps are good. There is A LOT of verticality to them which can be frustrating at first since you really need to be aware of what could be above or below you. I am not unhappy with the MP, just indifferent right now. Cranked has the makings of a fun mode though. Need to try Blitz but I am afraid it might be a lot of camping.

Blitz wasn't too bad with camping. Maybe one guy would stay back and defend, but most people actually rush ASAP and try to get to the zones.

I haven't gotten used to it, but I feel like it is a little too easy to die at times. Favorite weapon has been the Honey Badger, but the MSBS is insanely strong. Also, Strikezone is my favorite map.

Yeah the fast death have happened to me also. I am not sure if it is the guns or a lag issue. There are times when I die shooting and the kill-cam shows me just running. I also need to change my expectations. With BF4 I usually get to run around a bit before taking fire. I forget that with CoD you need to be on your toes all the time. I got shot in the back a lot the first hour because I was being too lazy with my movement.

Edit: My biggest gripe is that without any perks to help, snapping to down the sights is insanely slow with my assault rifle. I hip fire it more that I have in the past. I will eventually find a loadout I like though. It will take a little time.

I do like that you can unlock any perk at any time, as long as you have enough points. Really allows customization without having to grind. Quickdraw is very useful.

Pretty sure there's a perk that lets you aim faster. Came with my Assault class character.

I like the unlock system as well, but honestly, I'm level 20 and already have pretty much all my favorite gear. Not much to egg me on and I've only been playing for 2 days now.

Domination is a lot of fun on the bigger maps like Stonehaven and Whiteout. I've been really effective with the Chain SAW LMG. All hip fire, baby.

I'm only about six to eight hours in and the only game type I can find that isn't Operation: Hump Corner, Then Window is Hunted which is essentially Gun Game, Sticks & Stones and Drop Zone all rolled into one.  Equally fun, hectic and frustrating depending on the starting pistol you spawn with so you better hope it isn't the super shitty Revolver unless you enjoy a panic knifing lunge fest.  The new slide mechanic, Stonehaven (simply because it has plenty of flank opportunities while reminding me of DA:O, Skyrim and Highlander) and the Support Teammate killstreak are probably my most favorite things about this game.  All three are consistently f*cking dope.

Everything else is either ridiculous (Guard Dog, people STILL refusing to grow a pair and play the objective under all circumstances, losing close quarter gunfights to hipfiring ARs w/ SMGs), mediocre or your typical CoD antics.  Extinction Mode has a lot of potential however so until I get around to learning/tolerating the maps better and have enough points to make proper stealth and shotgun classes I guess that's where I'm headed next.

I was trying not to whine too much but guard dog at 5 kills (4 with hardline) is a bit too easy for the power they have. It is one thing to have a lower level streak that may get you 1 to 3 (RC car, Predator) kills but that dam dog can stay around for too long.

So you dont prestige in this game?? You go 1-60 with a character and then it unlocks another character ranked at 1

Pretty much. The only cons it has is being unable to shoot people, fly and call in extra killstreaks. Guard Dog seems at the very least a 7 - 8 kill tier killstreak that does way too much already for 4 - 5 kills. I've grown accustomed to dealing with a random pack of dogs tracking their dead masters racking up bodies on the way to them. Why? Because 9 times out of 10 trying to kill them is either a death sentence or complete waste of time. It can take up to a half clip to get the job done depending on the weapon and its attachments on top of attracting a lot of unwanted attention in the first place. Not to mention it has a consistent Commando lunge, Growl Radar, general ease of reup and will remain on the field indefinitely until something or someone kills it.

So uh... why is the seemingly mediocre Predator Missile of this game (Trinity Rockets) 7 kills and this isn't? Because they can split into smaller rockets that sort of track people that are usually in doors or running too fast toward buildings whenever it appears to occasionally kill? LOL... I honestly don't get it.

I wont be getting this for a while yet. I already see all of my friends playing daily, but I just don't have the time. I will eventually get it, just not sure when.

I saw the cut and paste video the other day, that's pretty sad. I look at it like they were cutting corners, it's most likely that the MP budget far exceeds that of the single player, so to save some money for the single player they copy and paste a scene. The single player hasn't been good since COD 4 anyways.

Likes:

- Hunted and Infected are good additions to the playlist. Search and Rescue is a nice variation of Search and Destroy.

- This "Soldier" system is refreshing from the ol' Prestige system. No complaints here about it.

- Encouraging players to try different weapons, weapon modifications, different modes, attempt skill-based challenges, etc. is a fair way to handle character customization.

Ineffective:

- This "contextual lean" system is an interesting concept, but I haven't found a reason to use it. It can be disabled in Options, so that says a lot about what developers assumed players would decide to do with it.

Dislikes:

- No idea why they removed the Connection Status indicator from the player display screen—especially when the multi toggles between dedicated servers and player-hosted servers. It would be nice to see if it's me, someone on the server, or the server itself that's the problem when things lag.

- Everything blends together. I think the maps are uninspired. Nothing really pops. Seems like they decided to go for a more "realistic" approach, which looks uninteresting. I don't know if it's just me, but I have had a difficult time differentiating between objects in the background and players.

- Premade, uncustomizable Patches and Backgrounds is a downgrade from the Black Ops games.

I think my next-gen multiplayer game of choice will be the enhanced Battlefield 4. Ghosts further confirms that Treyarch is now the superior Call of Duty developer. After Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward games lost all soul. Just my two cents, tho.

I am a big COD fan, but MW3 was my low point. The MP maps stunk in MW3 imo. Are the ones in Ghosts better or similar to MW3? Is it just 12 players on the 360 and 18 on the Xbox One?

Has anyone been able to get Free Fall to install on 2 consoles. Used the preorder code on one console and the code is invalid on the second console. Nothing is showing up as an item in the store.

most (all?) of those xbox codes are 1 time use (else we could just share them infinitely)

or are you asking something else, will?

Since I have downloaded the map, I thought that the store would give an option to redownload it. I thought it might recognize that I have "purchased" it and be downloadable on a separate console. It's not found in the COD store or in the general XBox store where you can purchase avatar items and whatnot. I imagine it will eventually make it to the store anyway, I think I'll survive until then.

There is a learning curve from BOPs2 to Ghosts. Depending on how you

played BOPs2, you may have to change up your play style. In the previous game when you are getting shot

you have a chance to get to cover, run away, or counter attack. In Ghosts you die within 2-5 bullets (not including snipers)

so there is very little chance for survival or counter attack.

I'm loving the game myself, the only problems i find are the atrocious spawn system, and some of the maps are too big and/or convoluted.
