lol we just bought a new house so it's gonna be a while before we move again. It does make my wife mad though and I think I won't survive too much longer if I keep getting boxes the size of the Reach one.

I may buy collectors editions, but i buy video games, and those are meant to be played. I open all my CE's ( only one I havent is my ME2 CE because I got that on sale after I bought ME2 ) I also open all my blu-ray steelbooks, and everything.
 
I know I'm new to the C.E. craze but I honestly don't get why people go ballistic about high release #'s of C.E.

All that means to me is I can buy a C.E. months after it's release for nearly half price!

I could give fuckck all if it goes up or down in value, I'm a fan and I love to be able to have a something cool associated w/ my favorite game.

Anyone who really thinks they're gonna maintain the thread needs to open a "2.0" version of this thread and lets take it from there.
 
RE opening CE games, I do, but it definitely is a decision I have to make. For one thing, I have a huge backlog so I probably wont be playing any new CEs I get right away, so they might as well stay sealed. Secondly, it always bothers me that once its opened, it can never be unopened. Just my own ocd, but I can understand those that don't open their CEs. Although I could never justify to myself buying a CE and the regular edition, I usually just get one or the other.

Bioshock 2's LE has some of the coolest physical content in a CE I remembewr recently.

It comes in a really nice box with a really nice full size book of all the concept art, an LP containing the soundtrack, a CD with the soundtrack (i think), and a bunch of replica propaganda posters from rapture that have UV ink on them so they display hidden messages if you hold them under a black light.

I was really impressed with it, and it's the guilty party associated with my continued purchase of CEs in the last year or so even though they always disappoint me.

Nice, this is more like it. Suggestions from me would be to highlight the game titles a little better, maybe boldface them, and include the original MSRP as well as the current sale price. Thanks for taking on this task!

Pictures? Probably not, as it's just as easy to google what the contents are, and sometimes the links show it. Also, I thought about the price, but it seems subject to change randomly, so a LE game may be $10 one moment, and $25 the next. $25 is still cheap, imo.
 
I don't see why everyone was bitching that the last thread OP couldn't update the main post. It's not that hard to read a couple of pages of content, and it makes it harder for slickdealers/lurkers to find the deals.

All of the complaining is because people are too lazy to search a few pages. Just wait till the thread gets to be around 20+ pages, then you'll have people asking questions that were answered dozens of times in prior pages.

It happens in every thread and there's nothing you can do about it. You could try "SCREAMING"(typing in CAPS) at them till you're blue in the face to read the OP and skim the thread but people will do what they wanna and it's accepted that that's gonna happen.

I like this thread, but honestly, you shouldn't have hijacked the other OP's thread. I suggest you talk it over with the original OP thread and see how you both can combine your threads or take on more duties. If he can't than assume responsibility. I suggest you both seek a mod to sort this out.
 
Do you guys know how much the price of Bioshock 2 limited edition for ps3 at best buy? I looked online it says 70 but I want to make sure that's the right price at the store. TIA

go check your store...it's usually ymmv with deals at best buy like this. If your gamestop has it, it should be 30.

It comes in a really nice box with a really nice full size book of all the concept art, an LP containing the soundtrack, a CD with the soundtrack (i think), and a bunch of replica propaganda posters from rapture that have UV ink on them so they display hidden messages if you hold them under a black light.

I was really impressed with it, and it's the guilty party associated with my continued purchase of CEs in the last year or so even though they always disappoint me.

I think it's like $34 at my local BB, but it's YMMV. Or was the $34 price tag for the 360 version? Lol, I dunno.
 
yeah the price for Bioshock 2 CE at BB is YMMV. My BB has it for full price. I picked one up at Gamestop though, and I must agree that it's a pretty awesome CE. The box it comes in is really nice and having a Vinyl of the music is cool.

The CE for GTA IV isn't really worth it IMO. While the lockbox quality is pretty, the lock itself is pretty cheap and you can open it without the key. I bought the amazon lockbox bundle, which comes with the art book too, a little while back for around $15 (haven't checked the price since) so if thats all you want, then it's worth it buying that, otherwise don't waste your time, you'll be paying $50 more for duffel and keychain.

Have u try to replace the lock on the lockbox? (like removing a Cash box lock and placing it on the GTA)

If you plan on using the lockbox as an actual lockbox don't bother. You can just pry the edges of I remember correctly.

Got my copy at Wal-Mart for $28.98 a few weeks ago, they are all gone now.
