Circuit City Clearance list. 5 - 10 dollar games as of June 18

Yeahman

CAGiversary!
June 18.

Since this list was bumped I changed it so that no one would think that the old prices still counted. At this point I don't know if CC has any kind of percentage clearance going.

Has anyone been to the Buffalo (Amhurst) CC. If so what GC games can you remeber thme having and were there alot (ie. Red faction II, Wave Race, Beyond Good and Evil)

OK I checked the Van Nuys CC today and they had a 2 shelf amount of GBA games.

Apparently there were no more Jet Grind Radios because that person who posted it really did take the last one.

The Wave Race GCN games they probably had are gone too all they have for GCN is some Looney Toons game, The Hobbit, P.N. 03, and maybe 3 other titles. (a pitiful GCN selection).

No Tenchu 3, no Gungraves (the games you all probably wanted).

I price checked a few items but didn't buy anything...

Golden Sun (1 copy left) - $19.99, although if you ask them to take your Best Buy Gamer's Gift Card you can probably get it for $14.99

P.N. 03 - $29.99
Breath of Fire II (2 copies left) - $14.99 (I thought it was going to be $10..)

The also had a few Phantasy Star Collections, maybe 3 Banjo & Kazooie's, Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu, a few Lunar Legends, a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh: The Sacred cards (maybe $15 if you try to use a gamer's gift card match)

They had a 1 shelf selection of PSone games but I didn't bother to check them. Nothing all that special really. Sorry, I didn't check the X-box games.

BTW the Northridge CC, when I checked the other day had Red Faction II for GCN in stock too.
Man, there are quite a few CAG's here in the Valley......

Celcius, at least you can say there are honest CAGs in the valley....I told you what to expect at the Van Nuys CC. :)

To those who find a Rez at your CC and are wavering about it...GET IT. Rez is an amazing experience combining old school vector elements with modern art and polygons. Anyone who says "eh, it's just a short rail shooter" just doesn't get it. Did anyone complain that Pac-Man had one maze!? Did anyone complain that Q*Bert had one pyramid of cubes!? It's not about this phony notion of "how many hours can I finish it in"...it's about brilliant design, fun, and the desire to play it again and again. It's a truly unique gaming experience that will make you come back for more so you can master the scoring strategy and experience the amazing visuals and music. Not to mention there are plenty of unlockable features. It's a game that captures the simplicity-yet-with-addicting-strategy of early 80's games, but with a look and sound 80's games could have never acheived.

*pant pant* ...can you tell how much I F*ing love Rez!??! My cheap ass even bought it for $50 right when it came out. If anyone passes it up for $25....YOU SUCK!!!! :)

GET IT! ....or else you suck. :)

I'm going to go play Rez now.

I agree. When I first played it, I thought it was TERRIBLE. The graphics are something like a Vectrex system without the overlay. But, as you continue playing and you morph into other forms you really start to get into it. The controller vibrates to the beat of the mostly techno music. It's an "art piece" like ICO. It's a great game if you give it a chance. Rez for $25 is great. I bought mine at Best Buy when they were $19.99 but $25 is as cheap as you'll find it now.

Went to the Local CC to grab some of the games on the list and to my surprise many were stilll there. I walked in and they had a bin with a whole bunch of games in it. I asked a manager " Is this the 50% bin?" He looked at me and said that those games were reduced but not 50% off. I spotted a buddy of mine that workls there and told him about what they have at their CC. He was shocked at soem of the prices that I told him. He took me over to a computer so that I could log onto CAG and print the list. and I spent about 45 minutes looking for some of the games on the list. My friend went over to a co worker and showed him the list and confirmed (he scanned some of the games to see how much they come up for) that the list is real. He joined in the search and grabbed a couple of games for himself. No one in the CC knew about the price drops.

Here's what I got

Red Faction 2: (Priced 49.99) Paid 9.96
Wave Race Blue Storm (Priced 49.99) Paid 9.96
Beyond Good and Evil Paid 9. 96
Haven Paid 4.96
Slipheed Paid 4.96
Shinobi Paid 4.96
Freaky Flyers Paid 9.96
Robotech Paid 9.96

Mostly all the games were priced were priced 49.99 and when I went over to pay the girl looked at me with a strange face like if I were up to something. Well, I did all my shopping ENJOY

BTw this CC is in Hialeah (Miami) FL

THERE IS A TON OF STUFF LEFT
Man, there are quite a few CAG's here in the Valley......
Maybe we should start our own San Fernando Valley thread just to keep abreast of what's still available and what's going down in the area. Or we could PM each other; unfortunately, I don't see a way to keep a "buddy list" of sorts in the user profile menu. Guess I'll just have to start remembering all your names. :p

I bought it for $60 on Dreamcast the day it came out. If that's not diehard, I don't know what is ;)

Thanks for the thoughts on Phantasy Star, Dead of Knight and ayolykewhoa. I appreciate it. I think I will give the PS collection a try.

Thanks for the report on Van Nuys CC, Celsius. I may head over to pick up that copy of Golden Sun if it's still around when I get there.

Masterkyo, which Circuit City store(s) did you visit? And yeah, I love seeing the faces of those CC employees when they see the prices ring up after they just tried explaining to you that "the price tag says $50 and it's as simple as that."

I was able to get Gungriffon Blaze, Silpheed, and Mr Mosquito (finally found one!) for $5 each yesterday. I also picked up Chessmaster (for GBA) for $10.

Does anyone know yet if F-Zero is $25 at the stores (as opposed to only on-line)? I'm sitting on the fence with this one. If it's available at the stores, I can wait a few more days until I have to decide...

Ignore my post /\. I just read a different thread and it is $25 in store as well. Now I have to gain enough self-discipline to let it stay there or else I'm going to be selling some blood realy soon....

Yeahman I just want to say thanks for still staying on top with all the updating. It is greatly appreciated, keep it up. Once more thanks!

Well the policy at my CC is that they don't take any pricematch from websites, but they will honor the prices on their own website. So you could try that, if it rings up at a different price, well see if they will match their own site. I'm pretty sure they would

I thought I had my best deal ever a couple weeks ago when I got 7 Sega GT/JSRF combo packs for 1-cent each at Circuit City, but I think I got an even better deal today.

I found some old Brute Force pre-order packs on the bottom shelf of the strategy guide section at my local CC. The pre-order pack contains:

1. Brute Force: Betrayals 275 paperback book
2. Brute Force hint booklet
2. The Ultimate Halo Companion DVD (Halo movies & screenshots on it)
4. The Xbox Exhibition Demo Disc Vol 2 (has the FULL Japan version of Capcom VS SNK 2 EO (without Live support)

These were ringing up at 1 PENNY each. The cashier let me buy all 7 of them. I also found Rez (PS2) for $25 at the same CC. My total for the 7 Brute Force preorder packs and the Rez game was $27.01 with tax.

Hey don't mention it D4rkwolfe. I've picked up some great deals by keeping up with this thread.

Not only that but hopefully I can even get money back. Since a couple of people have reported that BOF V is now cheaper, I need to see if any others are cheaper.

Besides you started the list, so thanks to you.

Here's a few I haven't seen mentioned yet:

GC Batman Vengeance $10
GC Defender $10
XB Batman Vengeance $10
PS2 Rune Viking Warlord $7.50

I might go to Circuit City today, and I would like to ask a few questions. I bought Quantum Redshift (Xbox) for $9.96 a few weeks ago and I found out the game is $4.96 now! Can I take my receipt to CC and get a refund on the difference? Do I need to bring my copy of Quantum Redshift with me?...

If the purchase was made within 30 days, you can bring the receipt for a 110% refund of the difference. There is no need to bring the game.

Thanks guessed, for answering my questions. But I have a few more, does Quantum Redshift have to be instock at the store to get the 110% refund of the difference?...

Nope. And you can do it at any CC, it doesn't have to be the one from which you purchased the game (in case there is one closer or more convenient to you).
