CAGiversary!
Feedback
313 (100%)
After much anticipation I present...the CC 50% off sale! Let me preface the list with a few comments. This is 50% off the regular price--49.99 will be 24.99, 29.99 will be 14.99 and so on. The price that shows when the game is scanned will be the 50% off price. Essentially, the included games should range in price from $4.99-$24.99. Each individual title's price was not on the list and I'm not about to scan every game to find out. :)
Second, I was not able to confirm this directly since the price changes will be downloaded over Saturday night; however, this list is printed directly from CC internal website. I have no reason to believe any of these titles are wrong. This does not prevent CC corporate from changing these prices or titles at any point during the week. OK, I'm sure everyone is sick of me covering my back so let's have some fun...

EDIT: This sale is actually UP TO 50% off. The 50% is not guaranteed. Some will be 50%, some won't. I'll list prices for games as they come in. I apologize for getting anyone too excited.

EDIT: I've changed the format slightly. I'm listing all games alphabetically w/console listed after when necessary. I just don't have time to type multiple titles multiple times. You understand, right?

EDIT 2/6 3:35P EST: Well, it seems there has been a lot of hype and not much substance so far. This list is legit as the scans on page 9 will show; however, CC corporate is not known for downloading prices on time. There may be more price drops Tuesday morning since, if not all prices were downloaded correctly, corporate won't realize it until Monday then download them Monday night. There is also speculation that the sale will increased as late as 2/20-21 for the President's Day sale. Unfortunately, I'm unable to find out anything else until Monday at the earliest. I am going to go ahead and post prices that are listed on the thread by fellow CAGs. I can't confirm these so I'm counting on other CAGs for accuracy. Essentially, lower your expectations some but don't give up yet.

Thank you very much to twiztidjester for answering the many questions that came in while I was posting this topic. I appreciate your offer to help w/the list. I just wish I would have noticed it before. :(

Also to demonmanTNA for providing a scan of the list since I'm scannerless. X-Division rules! TNA on PPV Sunday, 2/13!

There are different value classifications for the generic stamped games. It looks like pretty much all of the value groups are included in the sale. These might not make a lot of sense (even if you work at CC) but check them anyway.

value bin 19.99-PS2 & Xbox
value bin 9.99-PS2 & PS1
value game PS1 2-pack GH (no price listed)
value program 9.99-PS1

Well, I think this is it. Let me know if I left anything off or made any bad spelling errors. I will try to post prices as they come in. Happy hunting, everybody! :D

Taiko Drum Master w/Drumcon (my store didn't have any)
I was there on Sunday, they had like 15 Taikos...on the aisle with the ps2 accessories..
Oh yeah, I forgot about that aisle. It used to be where the Xbox stuff was, so it threw me off. Silly me, thanks for the correction. I have a Taiko, but kind of want to get it for the second drum. Maybe I'll swing by again tonight or tomorrow.

OP, here. I just wanted to say a couple of things.

I understand everybody's frustration with this "sale". I have 13 games ready & waiting for some sale prices. As other long-time CC employees can probably confirm, CC has been quite unorganized for a while now. Unfortunately, I'm not surprised by the amount of posts saying that the employees don't know about the red dot sale, games or other merchandise. Their managers should be keeping them updated as to what's going on them but, obviously, that's not happening.

To those of you showing your appreciation for this thread, I think I can speak for twiztedjester and demomanTNA as well, THANK YOU. They have been a few posts crappin' on my thread and to you I say this: get over it. I saw a potential opportunity to make a major contribution to this community and I took it. I could have been doing something else on a Saturday night but I chose this. Did it pan out like I hoped? No, at least not yet, anyway. I'm not giving up yet.

Third, I read a lot of posts asking questions that were answered in the edits. That's why I made the edits and put that in the topic. I'm guess what I'm trying to say is...READ THE EDITS FIRST! You'll save yourself some hassle.

That's all for now. Carry on.

ok after my first score I decided to go to another circuit city. I asked for the list like before and they gave me the exact same list thats posted here again. They told me though that the pricing for the games worked like this

under 19.99 50% off
29.99-39.99 25% off
49.99 and up 10% off

or something like that
Are you serious?? That's so emo...
=\
But then how do you explain this? According to this ad, Backyard Wrestling 2 is $30 and getting the 50% "deal". :?:

EDIT: At my local Wal-Mart I noticed they still have it at $49.96.

That's quite arguable.

Maybe I'll just wait for a few more days until it all gets sorted out. I mean, I definately don't have to worry about stupid hoarders this time and the games I want are like $40.

I hear what you're saying OP, it's one of the few negatives of this otherwise great site and community. But it's human nature to be dissappointed and often shoot the messenger. For what it's worth, thanks for the heads up. I'll probably check out the sale tomorrow but CC has treated me well the past few months so if nothing pans out, no biggie.

I got back home..
i just picked up

FF XI 37.49
DRUAGA 17.99
OUTRUN 2 9.99 + tax

so...not bad deal... anywayz GOOD LUCK!!

Well, some people might be pissed at CC itself really. I'm not mad at the OP just wondering what's going on as I read the posts.

No that is not true the list that ViolentLee posted is the correct list. What happened was the list we originally had was a mistake and they updated it today with the one ViolentLee had the sale is going to go on until 2/19 and they way ccity.com (only avalible to emloyees in the store) there may be more titles next week.

I just got back from Circuit City. Nobody knew anything about the sale. I asked about the list, 3 different people shook their head and said "There's no list, there never was a list, the info you have is wrong" etc.

A few games were marked with a tag on the shelf, but those were just the regular on sale items.

The hdd was on sale for $37, but they were out of it. The games I scanned were regular price. Tried a bunch I remembered were mentioned.

Truly, a crappy day.....

I'm going to jump in and say that I'm in full agreeance with you neo. I saw a chance to help out CAG and even if it didn't pan out like I was hoping, there was some good deals regardless.

If I hear anything in regards to this promotion that is valid, I will post it. Hopefully if the rumors people are saying are true then perhaps we'll still see some good deals down the road. Like its always been said... patient people are rewarded well. :D

Yea and the list you had wasnt your fault it was corparates fault i have the new list in pdf format from ccity.com what store do you work at?

Thanks OP--scored the last FFXI HD at my CC--left the last Taiko Drum Master for someone else to take home.

If anybody cares, the CC in Grossmont center (San Diego) had 5 Taiko Drum Masters when I was there tonight.

And a lot of the TV plug'n'play were 50% off. The two-paddle Atari controller was $15 (personally recommended if you're old enough to remember warlords, breakout or circus), spongebob, frogger, and spider man were $10, Sega's 6 in 1 was $15 and there were a couple more I can't remember (if you're old enough to remember the atari games, your memory probably isn't what it used to be).

I went down to CC today myself, and the story seems to be the same, the store was unprepared. One of the associates let me see the list (really didn't even have to ask), and the games were listed, but no prices. I picked up a few games I wanted off the list, and asked them to be scanned to check to see how much they were, and it came up as the original MSRP. Well, the sales associate was nice enough to go through all the trouble to actually get a discount applied the to the games I wanted (VJ2 and Baten Kaitos) by asking the manager to see what % off these games were. Apparently, they weren't 50%, but 30%. I passed in BK, which was $34.99, but did take VJ2 for $27.99 (which I was considering buying from Gamestop for $29.99). So, yes, not everything is 50% off. It seems like games that were released in late 2004 (like VJ2 and BK), and still going for full retail are being marked down to 30%, while the older ones (like the ones released in 2003, or had their prices dropped) are likely to be 50% off. That's just my theory, and that's if they get around to marking everything down.

I think the next time Circuit City does another sale like this (as well as the $5 fiasco last year), they should be more prepared, and actually have everything ready and organized for an advertised sale. They're not doing the employees any favors when customers come up to them and ask about promotions they don't seem to be well informed on.

It is not the idividual stores fault it was a corprate error.

Does anyone want Taiko? I was planning to bag one for me but if one of you wants one as well I'm game.
Btw Jester is right since I saw "sword Of Mana" cheap or as cheap as can be found now. :whistle2:(

Well here are the games I checked today:

XBox:
OutRun 2 $19.99 (ouch)
007: EON $19.99
Scaler $19.99

Guess, I'll try again tomorrow. . . OutRun is supposed to go down to $9.99-- Gotta get in on that deal!!!

I was at the Sawmill Columbus store, and didn't see any of the $5 Halo 2 watches that someone else who went to this store had mentioned. They must've been all bought out. :x

Hey, if anyone really wants Sword of Mana, my TRU has had like 10 or so brand new/sealed fpr $7.98! :)
shrike, which CC did you hit up? I checked Mills and Ferguson, but no dice.
When did you get over there? I made my way through there around 7-7:30, and left one behind at each of them.

That's what I meant. I don't at all blame the employees of the store for corprate's mistakes, and it was great that the sales associate I was talking to today was able to help me out as best as he could. Whoever is responsible for executing these sales in corprate really isn't doing a great job here.

Lock and no new thread...
I say lock this thread, its huge and pointless. Make a new one and only post the few deals we are certain of.
So, the original list that's on the front page...is that confirmed to NEVER happen? Are we certain that it won't start at a later date?

I don't think we're certain of anything. I've heard several different things, but then again, I haven't been keeping up with this thread past page 20. Last I heard, more sales may be kicking in over the next two weeks, but who knows for sure. They may be gearing up for a President's Day clearance.
