[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

I've read before on the official Nintendo support forums that the game codes you purchase through CN do not expire, so you should be fine if you don't get a Wii U for some time.

damn sorry about you guys bad CS experience i had my account banned i had a kinda bad experience guy said i cannot have a lot of family member's accounts ...long story short i got banned lol but since nintendo is so awesome they let me keep my account closed the other ones that i opened (there were 8 total i have 3 family member's) so i kept 3 accounts in the end and also they closed the other 5 its a family account so all points are combined i missed out on the zelda posters (which eventually came back ) but on top of that i kept all the points i registered. i did not know the rules before now i do they reopened my account with the exception i wont open more account for more member's i agreed so they are not that bad
i don´t understand, you have 8 CN accounts? or 8 members in 1 family account?

How do you get these Club Nintendo gold prizes, anyway? I have no idea how that works. I just earned gold a couple days ago but there's no apparent download option on the site.

Basically, you receive gold status by redeeming 300+ coins in 1 calendar year. If you redeem another 300 coins within a calendar period, you'll be upgraded to platinum, which is the highest status. Come July 1st, the year will end and sometime after that Nintendo will offer up some prizes. Gold typically gets a calendar, though later years have offered VC games. Platinum gets something else, which is its own can of worms. Finally, each person is only allowed 1 prize, so platinum members can select either a gold or platinum prize, where as gold can only select a gold prize. This is the gist anyway.

You wait patiently and all will be revealed.
Thats what you're suppose to do?! I always just sat here and made a list of complaints / grievances to post about Club Nintendo when they inevitably offered me something disappointing.

I liked the first part of your post better than the last part...

Okay, I'll wait it out. Really eager to get my hands on that free copy of Link's Awakening DX, though...

Whats the point of the first part...?

Link's Awakening DX was last years prize. This year will be something else.

Didn't know how easy it was to get platinum status, until cag.

How do some people stack up on codes?

Like right now I just get some from the warehouse,

& sometimes If I don't like the games, I trade them in and get another game that has the codes as well.

Thats basically how I have been going about them.

I only have like 10 right now lol, I know some of them might not work though.

Vic! D'ya have a stroke or somethin'?

I've noticed a disturbing increase in the helpfulness and pleasantness of your posts lately.

Someone posted in another thread how this could be used in the new Smash Bros games in regards to the custom movesets.

I think it would be awesome to have figures for your favorite characters with your own personalized moves integrated within.

I think the platform is rumored to release around the same time too.

Definitely will get more info at e3.

If Nintendo went Sklanders/Disney Infinity and then added that one Smash they would make even more insane buckets of money then they already will be.

I don't know. Didn't Pokemon Rumble U and the associated limited run (US anyway) NFC figures pretty much flop? I know people on CAG pounced on them in hopes of flipping, but beyond that I don't hear anyone ever talk about that game / figures. I suppose Smash might make a difference, though at the same time, you can't predict these things.

After about 3 weeks they completely dried up in a 100 mile radius here, so the silence might be nobody could get them.

Maybe, though I was speaking in general. Like, I don't recall many people talking / caring about the figures (besides flipping) / game prior to it releasing. In fact, I recall things being so understated that I preordered the game the day before it came out without even realizing the game released the next day.

Well Rumble was a mediocre game that was digital only on a system that's struggling to say the least. The figures were like an inch at most, this weird low poly style, sold only at GS in blind bags, and there were only six of them minus the promotional ones I believe. Basically not what anyone wanted.

I don't think/hope they'll actually do it but I think if they did quality figures in the $10-12 range that added a new character and even $3-4 ones that added other stuff that it would sell like crazy. I like that whatever they're doing is supposed to go across multiple games, let's just hope it's not something that makes us all hate Nintendo.

Am I the only one thinking that these NFC figures from Nintendo will have something completely mindblowing about them, and something else completely assbackwards, because it's Nintendo?

I actually like the "low poly style," though I also enjoy more abstract / cartoony artwork. There were also 18 of the figures (if you can believe that), plus 3 shinny variants, 2 preorder ones and I believe a few more promotional ones.

I think you're expecting a bit much from Nintendo. I want to say I have faith they will do something awesome, but keep in mind that the Pokemon figures I referenced had a MSRP of $3.99, so you have to expect something of roughly the same quality if Nintendo were to do $3 - $4 dollar versions.

Am I the only one thinking that these NFC figures from Nintendo will have something completely mindblowing about them, and something else completely assbackwards, because it's Nintendo?
I am in a similar boat, though I am not expecting it to be mind-blowing. However, I would be delighted if they offered some up for CN coins.

Never even heard of those Pokemon figures. I'll be honest: I love Pokemon enough to kind of want them.

As for this nintendo foray into the skylanders/infinity market: To have real life versions of the SSB trophys that would not only look cool, but add to my gameplay would be amazing. Yet I also do not think this idea will make much money unless it is advertised as much as infinity was (they played those commercials at a mind numbing constant, & turned Times Square island into a mini media sensation. The event was so big, it was on the news all over NY).
This reminds me of e-readers. Remember those for the GBA? They sold packs of regular Pokemon cards that could be used with it. I'm not sure how popular these things were but in my area nobody had them & they sat on store shelves (along with the packs) for years until the GBA life span came to an end.

Supposedly the figures are supposed to interact across a different number of games, so who knows?

If anyone can pull off something bigger than what Activision has done with Skylanders and Disney with Infinity, then it's definitely Nintendo.

But I hold my reservations until I see it in action and know more information.

I still have the e-reader and some of the cards.

I was still collecting Pokemon cards at the time, so it really eats at me to this day that I have 100s of those e-reader Pokemon cards, & never did anything with 'em. Couldn't afford the e-reader as a kid.
Can now though, so maybe I'll pick one up someday. For collectors purposes.

I have all the pokemon figures (including the 2 your got from GS).  They're stupid.  And the game blows.  Bought'm for my kid who instantly lost interest.  So 80 bucks wasted (getting the set).  The only thing that was cool is that one box equalled one set.  So, as long as you got a virgin box you got the whole set-ish.

Would anyone be willing to Get a Super Mario World (Wii U) Download Code for me https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/45025.do In Exchange for A Best Buy @Gamer $10 off any $29.99 or more Used Game Online coupon Code redeemable at bestbuy.com. Sorry if this the wrong place to post this figured it the best place since the Mario game ends tomorrow. And I would prefer someone who been on the site awhile and is at least somewhat active on the site with some feedback.

I'm about 100 coins short. Are there any cheap games (3ds or wiiu for under $10) that have codes right now?

I know no one reads it, but I updated the OP (finally), and would love if anyone could give me some feedback on the formatting (as well as content in it that should stay/go/be added).

The first Wii Fit gave me 100 points per copy. I picked a couple of copies up as filler during that last Gamestop used game sale and went 2 for 2 with the points being unregistered. Game is .99 or .89 with pur normally.

Thanks for the info in the OP. Didn't know Nintendo added the ITB surveys for MK8 digital (previously only the physical survey for me) and Tomodachi Life.

Sin and Punishment: Star Successor is really cheap (around ten bucks on Amazon) and you get a healthy bounty of fifty coins out of it. Was seriously considering picking up a copy myself.

NOT ONLY it´s 50 coins CN value, it´s a good game too, a shooter that can make an adult cry. (from Ikaruga developers Treasure) :D/ O:)

In addition to Star Successor, Metroid Other M is 50 coins as well if you haven't done that yet. Both are on clearance at TRU and if your store has them still they should be $8 each I believe.
