[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

The CD came today for me, which is slightly amusing since I think I got the email the day before. Put it with the Ocarina of Time 3D CD that was from last year (I think. It's 4am and I'm only awake because of my cat).

Kept them both sealed, since thanks to the unboxing videos I've seen all the artwork already, plus friends who lest me listen to theirs. Definitely worth the listen.

Makes me almost want a Majora's Mask remake for the 3DS more now (but I also remember how much I sucked at that game)

Havent gotten mine yet. No idea where the hell it got shipped to. Just hoping its not sitting in my mailbox back at home in the freezing cold for the next few weeks

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME???

I have 2 Club Nintendo accounts. I registered my 3DS in one account (and also linked it) but to ''buy'' a game (Mario Picross) with the other account. Is there any danger when I redeem that code?

Are they Parent/child?

My girlfriend's CN account is a child account from mine, and I've bought a code, redeemed it on her 3ds, and the post-play showed up in her account, not mine. Useful to know for double-dipping.

I don't think it really matters where a code is redeemed, since places like Best Buy do sell digital Nintendo games on their website. (Or did last I looked there).

Thank goodness I didn't spend my coins on the charging cradle and waited. I kept hoping the Luigi pouch would come back in stock. Now I can finally get rid of some of these coins!

Well my Zelda CD finally came in today, but also found out today when trying to redeem my club nintendo points from my Wii U I got, that my account is deactivated. Seriously bummed, and now have to waste my time with a phone call tomorrow

What can get your account deactivated?
Im not sure, the only thing that I've ever done that may have got it deactivated would be either A. Having 2 accounts to redeem duplicate codes or B. Bull crapping the response parts of the survey (random letters). Going to call tomorrow, I should at least have been warned if I was doing something wrong, not just instantly deactivated. Really nervous because I ordered Luigi statue, but dont want to risk it getting cancelled

After spending every year of this promotion scrambling at the end of the club year just to make Gold, I'm glad to know I'll be almost (or maybe completely) hitting platinum for the first time after registering my new Wii U and other assorted Christmas bringings.

You can do a system transfer like the 3DS but otherwise it's tied to one console at a time. Once you get a WiiU you can transfer all the Wii stuff to it as well.
*sigh* thanks. I thought it may be something like that. Nintendo needs to get their shit together and figure out how the internet/user accounts work

Finally got my OST, but I can't say I am thrilled about the condition it is in.

Anyone know if the Wii Sports Club games on Wii U give coins?  I searched and it looks like the answer may be no, but I find that a little surprising if that's the case since pretty much anything purchased digitally gives you coins.

Pretty sure it doesn't.
Weird.

Oh well, I'm still planning on picking up Golf, Tennis & Baseball(when it comes out). Guess I'll find out soon enough.

Unless anyone has any recommendations for Wii U? $20 left in my wallet but I don't mind going a little over. No VC titles as I already have a bunch. I've only got:

Mighty Switch Force 2

Little Inferno

NES Remix

Super Luigi U

Also not looking for anything that was ported from 3DS, as I've already got all of those as well.

Zelda CD finally arrived, nothing wrong with it which is cool, as I see others have not got so lucky. Quick question, for those who got a Wii U, how long does it take to get the 160 point registration survey? I have already got the survey for the Windwaker download, but still no luck on the Wii U system it self

Immediately, but it'll be buried in your to-do list. It doesn't show up at the top like most stuff.

Late to reply, but I did get my OST on the 23rd, came in excellent condition.  Admiralvic's picture is pretty disheartening though (even if that would give me an easy excuse to crack the seal), I think that's a legitimate call to CN's customer service, that's certainly not a minor hair line crack.

Indeed! Sad to see that the damage also affected the inserts. =\

OK so yeah it looks like I finally am gonna have to start redeeming ALL my CN codes I have amassed... Not to mention opening games just to get the code out x.x SUCH SAVAGERY!... That Luigis Mansion Statue looks crazy nice and I can see it being in rather high demand. Now I actually am going to have to try and find where I put half those darned codes x.x

Luigi's Mansion statue looks incredible, but I don't have anywhere near enough vouchers to reach 1500 points.
Same here. I don't even think it would be possible for me to get that high even if I scooped the rest of the Nintendo games I don't have... Only way I could do it would be to start digitally downloading stuff, and I'm not about to drop $500+ just for that little figure. I believe this is the first reward that I legitimately want that I'll be missing out on.

It's been up for a while though so who knows, maybe they made a decent amount of them and they aren't as limited as we think.

I think it's a matter of making them after the preorders have gone through to know how many to produce. Once they start shipping and appearing on eBay, I'm sure one can be snagged for less than $50.

That's the route I'm probably going to go.

I missed a few years of Platinum rewards, but I know I can get the button set for $20 locally.

I'd rather spend my coins on downloadable games, especially if they are for the Wii. My line of thinking is that if they do appear on the Wii U, it'd only cost me $1.50 to upgrade.

The only thing I missed out that I was interested in was the 3DS XL charging cradle. If they never come back in stock, I'll just get the basic black one for $19 off of Nintendo's online store.

Anyone not get their posters yet? A friend got a shipping email on 12/12 but they never arrived. I got a shipping email for the CD on 12/18 and it came just a couple days later.

I think it's actually a matter of Nintendo trying to get people to redeem games / systems obtained during the holidays, increase sales during the holidays (looks good for investors) and get that liability out of the system. Remember, the Kirby coin was also a "preorder" item, even though it had an edition size of 1,000.

That's the route I'm probably going to go.

Well, I think supply / demand comes into play with the badge collection. Most people didn't want it and even less wanted to buy it. I think the Luigi's statue will suffer from a low ROI and while the supply might be low and the demand might be high, the figure won't be able to match 1,500 coins worth of smaller things. For instance, checking eBay the cheapest cradle I saw sold for $27 dollars, with most averaging $35+ dollars. These sold for 500 coins, so arguably the Luigi statue would have to sell for $81+ just to match the value of 3 cradles. The pouch also goes for $15+ and cost 250 coins. 6 of these are worth about $90+, so you can start to see why I don't think the Luigi Statue will be a commonly sold item.

Anyone not get their posters yet? A friend got a shipping email on 12/12 but they never arrived. I got a shipping email for the CD on 12/28 and it came just a couple days later.
Some people have reported getting them.

---

If you wanted to see what the Zelda OST looks like on the inside, I took some quick/decent pictures.

The posters were sent out before the cd. I had got mines before everyone started getting their crack cds. (about 2 weeks ago)

I got the statue, yea it might not be a good ROI but I liked the look and I've lost too many damned points lately due to nothing I want (rarely do I see something I want digitally)
