[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here.

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

Yes, if you remember donkey kong as just the single or dual level game from way back, like on atari 2600 I think, or just the few levels in the arcade, this version has many more levels and more puzzle elements, more like a precursor to mario vs donkey kong games, but still fairly simple levels, though some can be frustrating until you figure them out.

They take time and just last night I was filling a few out when my wife made it clear I should be preparing my kids for bed. So clearly Nintendo owes me something for tearing apart my marriage.
If you're putting video games before your family you clearly have to get your priorities straightened out I'm just saying

Blah selection this month, no surprise.

My only other complaint is that they at least could add some more choices(like another 4), but then they probably will just end up repeating things much faster.

I'm thinking the recent lack of n64 VC titles means they might be close to bringing them to the wii u. This way when they are ready, people can get them without having to pay an upgrade fee.

Picked up Kirby's Dream Course. Can't go wrong with that. On another note we stop getting points for the DDP program at the end of the year which sucks. I've gotten at least 6 $5 credits this year due to the MK8 promo and redeeming the games from CN.

Nintendo really needs to just go all digital and give us some substantial downloadable games. Or man up and flesh out the physical rewards. I should have redeemed the Luigi's Mansion figure if I knew that would be the only good reward this whole year.

So i just read tthrough the last few pages and learned 2 things:

1. Club nintendo again lived up to its normal expectations.

2. Someone got the word "pedantic" on their word of the day calendar this week.

Maybe it's because we have seen better prizes from Japan or other months. I'm a Nintendo fanboy but this years platinum prizes pissed me off. The games on that list that I wanted I had and the ones I didn't is because I didn't. As far as the selection from month to month it's okay to throw some games that no one buys but the whole point was to get exclusive prizes. It now seems as though they throw up games that sold enough that now they can just get rid of some digital copies without cutting into profits.
This; all of this, ver fucking batim.

I can confirm that Donkey Kong ['94] holds up remarkably well, and Kirby's Dream Course is one of my all-time favorites. Great singleplayer--nothing like it, really--and my dad and I played a lot of the VS mode together back in the day.

That said, I am awfully glad that I grabbed that Pikmin bag when I did. :p

I checked my account for the first time in a while and I had a bunch of surveys expiring within days of now. That means I surely missed some others. And you know what, I don't even really care ;).

Well, I've been meaning to pick up Donkey Kong.  And it's awesome.

You were so awesome Gameboy, why did you have to go?!

I'm just kind of sad I haven't seen any good WiiU rewards in...ever.

I don't really understand what's so great about Donkey Kong. Especially a GameBoy version of Donkey Kong. It's not even in color.
Well, it WAS in color back in the day, using the Gameboy Color thingy. That's my one complaint about the game, they didn't implement that part.

But, the game is so much more than just Donky Kong. The first four levels are paired down versions of the arcade game in the Japan level order. After that, they go nuts with 96 more completely different levels, most of which are pretty clever and puzzle-like. If you liked the old arcade game, you will like this game even more.

In case anyone didnt know at gamestop between Oct 13-Oct 26 you can get a code for Gengar Plus his Megastone for free for pokemon x or y

And also leading up to halloween via mystery gift and get gift via internet option you can get a special Pumpkaboo pokemon

Aye, Kirby's Dream Course tis excellent. And I'm glad I grabbed that pink Animal Crossing 3DS/XL pouch. It doesn't have any nifty pockets or anything, but does have nice netted interior padding and soft exterior that doubles up as a screen wipe. I much prefer to use it over the cheap black zipper case I bought from Walmart that also holds 10 game carts, but is as wide as a secretary's ass after 20 years working for the State.

Found a few more duplicate codes for anyone who wants them.  Enjoy!

TNU-2X3Z-FX9H-B77 (New Mario DS I think)

PKR-MDCZ-Q4N2-EWC  (Mario Kart Wii)

GVC-MGA9-65JK-MCV (Zelda Twilight Wii)

Sorry for what is probably a dumb question, but it is possible to achieve Elite Status on more than one account within a Family Account, correct? I'm already 10 points away from Platinum on my main account, so I figure I will start logging games to my wife's account to get another elite status gift at the end of the year.

Nope. If you want more than one status reward your wife would have to have a completely separate account.

Nintendo: Actively hating American families since the abysmal WiiU launch.

Protip: The surveys practically fill themselves out if you click and type random answers for every question. Nintendo doesn't deserve 3 minutes of our life providing them statistical data for every game we buy unless they start offering us exclusive Amiibos such as Samus without her armor. Until I see that, they'll get answers to the likes of "Broccoli" or "Narwhal" when asked what I liked the most about Theatrhythm.

I usually don't even post vegetables. I just say, "ok" or "yay."

I treat those surveys as an opportunity to tell them what they could do as a company to get me to spend more money.  Something like this:

"Nintendo needs a true unified account system that is not tied to a console.  It also needs a service along the lines of Achievements/Trophies/Cards/etc.  I would spend more money on Nintendo products if Nintendo would take the time to develop services that have become an expected standard across other platforms."

And people wonder why they said to hell with the physical rewards.  If I was getting broccoli as a response on a marketing survey, I'd do the same thing.  Nice going, Kerig.

I should not have taken those Kirby's Epic Yarn patches for granted that they'd be available forever. Now all that's left is some postcards and a dumb WiiWare game for CN rewards. :whistle2:(
