COWABUNGA DUDES! TMNT out now on XBLA - 400pts!

Played a bunch of co-op games earlier today and it was the most fun I've ever had with a live arcade game. Everybody was just shooting shit about how they remember playing this game when they were younger and how damn hard some of the boseses were. I think I've beaten the game 3 times on co-op with four people and sometimes I forget which turtle I am. I'm up for some more games later if anyone is on, just send me a friend request.

im having CRAZY lag right now with it, but when I fire up ghost recon, everythings fine, is there something I can do to change that? I want to get in on some co-op with people here as well. add me :D

LOL DAMN this is HARD! i forget about old games and how they were SO hard just so they can take more quarters from you :(

gay i think i got fucked..

i was fighting shredder and we killed each other at the same time.. the counter came on the screen and i could not continue since the option to pick turtles never came up... game over for me... fucking gay
Personally. This Game brings back alot of old great memories and im so glad to see it here. But i tell you what these damn kids who ask who krang is who shredder is, need to learn about the turtles and not just get the game for the achievemenst.
i tell you what ive played with so many people who say "go for the pig guy" (bebop) "these damn robots" (mousers) and "whos this guy" (general traag) stupid people 10 years younger than me.

ive noticed that when the game lags, or someone has a red connection the game is incredibly slow. i had one where the lag was so bad the game was unplayable.
Right, since it's licensed--- Konami itself is unable to actually be listed as the publisher. All TMNT games must be published through the person with the current rights.

For example, you can *NEVER* see an old NFL game published on Live w/o it being released by EA because of the exclusive contract since it would involve the franchise rights that are signed away.

It's definitely a good thing to see stuff like this getting released now. I'm hoping this leads to greener pastures like the release of the Simpsons and X-Men arcade games (which never got home releases) or even the old WWF games back in the day. Since they all involve licenses, they will involve other companies, but it is definitely a good sign when one company makes a deal like this.

I'm officially looking for people to be added to my friends list to play this with. Feel free to add me! :whistle2:D
I would shit myself if WWF Wrestlefest is ever released on live.

Are you serious! They fucking ask that?? fucking kids! I played with some dumbasses like that on Root Beer Tapper who just kept saying the game was gay and thought it was new and only bought it for achievements.

I haven't even played it online yet because of the dumbasses. I wish people would actually play a game normally for once instead of do something like beat a thousand mousers for an hour....bleh. Oh well, at least I got 5 seconds of fame, I was number 3 for a few minutes lol.

This game is damn near impossible to beat in Online Multiplayer. Bebop, and the Two Rock Monsters don't even let you get more then one hit in before they just shrug you across the screen. I played 2 games with the same 4 players and both times, we were down to 2 lives by the time we reached Krang, we didn't have a chance. Great fun otherwise though.

I only played one 4 player game online so far, and we almost beat Shredder.

yeah, I think that's the problem. the sounds weren't even playing correctly it sounds like gunstar heroes gone mad with all the sounds clashing together creating a big bunch of fuckin' mess.

Just went through with Cheapy, got about halfway through the Technodrome before we both got squelched. The difficulty seems reasonable though...on a good day it's certainly beatable. A little bit of lag but it was almost welcome with all the crap going on.

I noticed that if you're doing a multiplayer game it plays the full intro (I was bitching about it being cut off in the singleplayer earlier) which is neat-o.

if anyone wants to play co op i can beat the last three bosses without dying

couple times i got to the last boss something happened and we ended up back in menu

let me know, beating it on co op is the only achievement i need :D

Wait, to get the co-op achievement for shredder you have to.. NOT DIE? LOL *CRIES* That's INSANE !!

I wanna do 4 player co-op! Let's start something. C'monnnn!

oh nah but everyone one i play with can't even get to shredder and some people in this thread said they can get to krang

so as long as we can get to krang i can beat them and shredder without dying so we could beat the game

the only boss i have trouble with is when you fight bebop and rocksteady at the same time

I beat the game. It's like unlimited continues..so I dunno how people can't get that far? (Unless it's different in co-op?)

Yep. 20 continues for Live play.

Can anyone explain the direct attack achievement? Thanks and if it's a stupid question know I've had a long day.

Press X+A buttons at the same time for a direct attack.

Achievments Q...

Just beat the game on CO-OP XBL, beat Shredder, and lived to tell about it, yet no achivement unlocked? What's going on with this?

I found out the hard way that you can only get achievements in Public matches so if you were in a Private co-op match then that is why you didn't get the achievement.

20 continues in co-op, but lets fuck shit up! c'monnnnnnnnnnnnn. :D

played this with a few CAGs today.. so much fun. We made it to Krang, then got beaten.

Motherfuck.
Was anybody else having HORRIBLE lag while in an online game? I just had that problem, and it was so bad our game got d/ced.
Zewone, JimmieMac, CaseyRyback, and Myself had a ton O' Lag earlier today. It was only because that Ass Zewone was DLing shit the same time we were playing :)

argh got to stage 5 with some people then the host just leaves and the game ends

why can't they pass hosting duties to someone else if the host leaves

Can you get better at this game ? From what I remember the game is a quarter muncher that you just keep feeding since you just have to grind your way to the end.

You can learn where everything is (ie moving cars, etc.) and also get better at beating the bosses with hit and run strategy. It all really depends on who you are playing with.

Was the NES version a lot easier than this? I remember flying through the entire game solo in about fifteen minutes when I was younger, but I died about fifty times playing through now. Still, great memories, and it has actually aged relatively well.

It seems to me that the NES version was much longer (not only due to the two added levels). The levels went on forever in the NES version, with much more bad guys, definately. Plus there were shameless Pizza Hut ads all over. Thank god the arcade doesn't have that!

The NES version was a bit longer, with two extra levels:
-After the sewer level you goto a NES exclusive level called The Snowfeild and the boss being a bounty hunter polar bear named "Tora".
-After the Rock Quarry level (after beating Lieutenant Granitor) you enter another NES exclusive level called "The Dojo" and fight a samuria called "Shogun".

On top of those, here are some other note-worthy differences:
-Worse (8 bit) graphics.
-The levels were longer -- enemies of the same color would only appear on screen at the same time.
-In Vinnie's Valet Parking Garage, you fight Baxter in his fly form instead of Bebop & Rocksteady at the same time.
-Pizza Hut logos present all over the NES version. Similar to the Pizza Hut appearances in the first movie.

I just can't enjoy this game.

It make have been mindblowing in 1989 but compared to sidescrollers from the 16-bit era, it feels archaic.

The NES version is what I played for hours upon hours, I just remember it being easier than this.

Thats because Pizza Hut had a tie in with it. In fact, original copies came with a coupon for a free personal pan pizza.

I certainly don't remember it being easier. Only time I was ever able to beat it was when I found out the cheat codes from a friend a year later.
Thats because Pizza Hut had a tie in with it. In fact, original copies came with a coupon for a free personal pan pizza.
Anyone have pics of the coupon...maybe we can put it in the next CAG Coupon Pack...for shits and giggles...

As far as I can tell, the music and SFX from the original are all intact! Anyone find evidence to the contrary? Someone earlier said that they "remixed" the sound, but I suspect they were actually comparing it to their memories of the NES version. Oh man, and it's so nice to hear the real theme song in attract mode!!!

After two live co-opgames, its still just as fun as I remember it - as long as you play with somebody with average or above connection. This is the best $5 game this side of Geometry Wars and Uno on XBL IMO.

yes i do have the coupon in the basement still in the game box, but no scanner right now.

The NES version was way easier. I owned in that game.

I could start with the stock 3 guys and go to the end only dying a few times. The extra life after 200 kills was all I needed to pass it. The bosses in the NES version had patterns you could exploit and beat with out taking damage. Also when the level started you got reset to full health. Along with the most 3 foot clan robots on the screen at a time.

The NES version was way easier.

EDIT: And that IGN review blew. I bet it took him 15 minutes to write that. What a crappy ass review. It's just some lame ass rant about not being able to put quarters in your xbox. I bet the reviewer wants XBLA to cost 100 points a play so it feels more like a real arcade. I like unlimited continues, it makes me feel like I own the game or am at an arcade with the game on "Free Play". You know what I mean ? Isn't that everyones dream ?
wow... horrible review. sounded more like a rant about growing up and the game being cheaper...?
All I read was "wah wah wah." If he is really that torn up about not having to worry about quarters, maybe MS should sell "credits" for 20 points each and would require them to continue playing. But then again, I'm claiming this idea just in case it really happens. Mine!

This game's a blast but damn can you speed through it.

Also, I really feel the need for the DoA 4 stick to play this game.
