San Andreas straight through took me about 40 hours.

I've got it pre-ordered at GS actually. Had it since the release of the demo on XBL. I can't wait, comes out on my day off as well.

i'm gonna try and pick up a used copy with the beta invite for cheap. my buddy says if they get one in, he'll hide it for me until the price drops or until it's right before the beta.

Preordered from Buy.com using the Paypal deal so it comes out to $43ish shipped after the paypal rebate. It shipped on Friday via UPS Ground with an est delivery date of Tuesday.

Why do people think we're getting this for the fuck ing beta? I love halo, but seriously, Crackdown is awesome; it is fun, addictive, and entertaining as hell. I'll play/test the beta, but it is DEFINITELY not why I'm buying the game.
 
I am on the fence about this game since I have Virtua Fighter 5 coming out that same week. Who knows I may just crack and buy both games.
 
The Demo sold me on this game, add the $10 coupon and you have a release date purchase for me!

Oh and I think it has some beta thing for some other game!

i dunno man..id be lying if i said that i wasnt getting this for the beta. the demo was fun for a little bit, but it seems the game will get boring after awhile. even if teh beta may not have totally sold the game, it def. increased the exposure.

Without the added incentive of the beta, I definitely wouldn't have picked Crackdown up.

...Yeah. I have yet to even PLAY Crackdown, I was simply asking a question if people are really buying this JUST for the Halo 3 beta, and going by this thread, some are.
 
how long do you think the beta will last? if it's only a month long i think i'll wait until after the beta is over and pick up crackdown when it's cheaper.

My guess is the beta will be very short. 2 weeks sounds about right. As for why I'm buying Crackdown, it's the beta. The demo for Crackdown, was fun for a while, but with only one kind of mission it will have a hard time keeping my attention.
 
Two stores near me have it but can't sell it yet, obviously. One store has 38, the other store has 45, all copies have the Halo 3 sticker. It's not going to be hard to find at all.
 
Well, sure the Halo 3 Beta is pretty sweet but I was gonna buy it anyways.



Besides, the beta doesnt start anyway on launch...itll be sometimes in spring..
 
Wait... Crackdown has Helicopters????

I was EXTREMELY dissapointed with the lack of helicopters/planes and boats/ski-dos in the Demo, because I assumed they'd be missing from the game, but when I go to http://www.xbox.com/ they have an animated background with HELICOPTERS....


I've never seen a Helicopter in any of the videos... does anyone know about different types of vehicles in this game? Are there helicopters and boats?
 
Maybe once you get all the orbs there are Helicopters?

Call me crazy, but they would ruin the game. Jumping building to building to find orbs is half the fun.
 
i didn't see any helicopters but i only got 350/500 of the agility orbs and about 70/300 of the hidden ones

there's one boat but its grounded

think the picture is inaccurate

the one thing i don't like about this game is no side missions, so once you're done not much to do besides time trials or find the orbs

Well... it was just concept art.

If there are helicopters, they are probably just police helicopters, and not user controllable.

But there probably aren't helicopters. It was just art, after all, but it was art that just reminds me how dissapointed I am there aren't helicopters.
 
EBGames has me on "Processing" with overnight shipping. I was under the impression they ship today in order for me to play it tomorrow, or did they finally forget what it means to have a game on launch day?

My friend is dropping the game off to me tommorow at lunchtime, as I'm still too tired to goto school. I can't wait to play the real game. I've played through the demo like 20 times.

USPS yes, but not UPS or FedEx. They recognize Presidents day but do not observe it. EB/GS afaik ship UPS still, hopefully it'll be shipped out tonight and I'll get it right when I get home for lunch.

I'm lazy as all get out and have owned a 360 for all of 20 hours at this point, so please forgive me. I played the Crackdown demo today and enjoyed what I played. I'm thinking of picking it up--the Halo 3 beta though, is that just going to be multiplayer or single player campaign as well?

I never thought you would buy a 360, If you get live gold hit me up with a friend request and we can play co-op crackdown.

Im 90% sure its multiplayer since they were talking about it being a "stess test"
