I used my 48 hour card that came with Crackdown and have played exactly one round of anything on Live, that being a GP on Burnout. In that single race I had both the 12 year old kid who knew nothing but profanity, AND the guy trying to pass himself off as a girl. It was like every stereotype for the service embodied in one match.

I remember being a tad bummed when there was no voice chat in Mario Kart DS. I take it all back. ;)
 
You said it, daroga. I rented Lost Planet and I always seemed to get a kid like this in every game. He'd sit there in the lobby and say "hey guys. hey guys, what's up. does anybody here talk? start the match. start the match, come on dude start the match start it start it" and then proceed to just sing the whole time.


The best part of this movie, hands down, is with 6:20 to go, he whips the camera back to himself to show his mouth dangling wide open. That moment almost makes it worth it :rofl:

this game is so good. Sooo good. Like makes me not want to play anything else for a long time good.

Watching shit blow up in this game will never get old. Neither will sneaking up on people and kicking them out of 14th story windows.

Don't even get me started on shooting out tires on the freeway, because that is just another kind of hilarious.
 
Got the game at Best Buy yesterday, pretty fun so far, having a blast! I'll probably be on tonight sometime if anyone wants to co-op. Feel free to add me if I'm not on your list.
 
Kind of strange, was just sort of pissing time away this evening driving around the Volk island leveling up my Driving. Knocked a car over the edge of a bridge, and one of the Volk guys was still on the sidewalk, dead. Like any good citizen of Pacific City, I decided to throw him in the drink.

Threw him in, 20 seconds later I get the Shot-putter achievement (?!) apparently the body just kept going.

Do you want something equally fun? Go to the Quarry over in Volk territory and see if you can knock a disabled missile or two onto the nearby highway. After you do that jump down to the highway, pick up those explosion-less missiles, and chuck them at fast-moving oncoming cars. The results range from "that's pretty funny" to "oh dear lord, I should have taped that!!!" My best was getting three cars to careen into one another and then launch themselves over the other missile that was left in the street, with two of those cars flying upside-down off the highway.

I think what really solidifies this game for me is that, every other five minutes, my friends and I are saying "man, you've GOT to try this thing out over here! It's insane!!" to each other. Finding something interesting, or observing some of the finer in-game touches (ie: sub-achievement notes for multi-part achievements), just makes it even better.
 
just some minor issues..anyone find the map system very confusing? the icons are very small and when i need to get to certain areas, its very difficult to find the right way, i get lost often. its too bad their map system isnt similar to saints row where u can plot your destination point and it'll map out your route, that would be much easier. also i finally play co-op for the first time. but your partner could be in a totally opposite side of the city. its impossible to find out where there are other than an orange arrow icon on the map or just follow the direction where their status bar is.

other than that, just finished playing for over an hr...i'd actually prefer a structured story line and missions, but its actually fun just building jumping and collecting orbs. along with piling up cars and creating insane explosions

the map system could have learned a lesson from Saints Row indeed. But it's generally not that bad.

I tried this right after reading your post and it worked for me too. I killed a volk, carried him over to the bridge and tossed him over. It made that achievement alot easier :D

I actually got my car juggler achievement on accident. I was on top of a building and a ton of hit sqauds had shown up at the base of the building with their cars. There was probably 20-30 cars all packed right next to each other so I just went ahead and shot a missle at one of them. Big boom. I went back to what I was doing and apparently one of the cars had stayed in the air for 7 seconds on its own without me doing anything cause the achievement popped up.

I guess you could always try putting a whole shit load of cars and barrels together in an attempt to recreate a situation similar to mine.


I really hope the rumors about downloadable content in the form of new missions for this game end up coming true. I really, really, really want to play more missions. This game is freakin' awesome!
 
i played for the first time last night, and i got like 6 co-op requests from people i don't know. is your game broadcast on live for people to join in?

it seemed a little weird to me

When you first start a game I believe you have the option to have your game be open to people not on your friend's list. You probably selected that.

that would be fine, but i dont remeber there being an option like that, and none of these people were on my friend list
 
It's there. I clearly remember it. It asks you to select 3 options.

Have a game anyone can join
Only Friends can join
No one can join

You most likely selected the first option without noticing it. That's why people who aren't on your list can send requests.
 
damn this ame is addicitng! i'd prefer more of a storyline and tougher gang fights, which are pretty easy. but once you power up and have better agility, this game is so much better. building jumping and just finding orbs makes it worthwhile.ive tried shooting out tires for crashes but all they do is spin out or stop. i did get a car to flip over once but thats about it.
 
Anyone want to help me get the tag teamer achievement? I want to knock it out all in one sitting. Just go in and kill the bosses in Time Trial mode. PM me if you want to help.
 
Okay, it appears I dismissed this game prematurely. After spending a few hours with the demo over the last few days, this game is DEFINITELY a buy for me.

It has leapt ahead of Gears of War on my list- although I will admit that a huge part of that is the fact that it's new and tons of friends are playing it online- and now it's between this and MLB2K7 since I only have enough for one right now.
 
I really enjoyed fighting the final boss for the volk. That guy was both fun and challenging. It takes so long to get to the top of the tower where he's at. It took me a couple tries, but then i got to level 4 in explosives/agility/strength, and it made it a lot easier.

I heard a rumor about them releasing a deathmatch type thing for this game. I think that that would be a lot of fun. Also, i wish they had a mode where you could have like 4 friends online together just to mess around with. Make it so you can't do any missions, just for fun

The final boss was actually one of the very few bosses in the game that I killed on the first journey into their "lair." I really surprised myself on that one but I just took it slow and steady and always made sure to stop between floors and let my health completely regenerate.

Damn, that would be ideal. The missions are obviously crap in this game, but the ways that you can mess around make it fun enough anyway. But yeah, it would be great to be able to have a group of people screwing around.

There were romours in an OXM that said there would be a 16 palyer deathmatch or something. Would be awesome, but sometimes words get lost in the wind... or when copies are all ready off the shelves.

I have had the game lock up twice in co-op with the same person. Not sure if it was our connection or what. Still a blast. I was on until like 4amish last night with Rich. It was so much fun.

You do know you can replay it in super hard difficulty right?
