If you're talking about Paint.net, its like an upgrade of MS Paint. It allows you to do transparancies. I'm working with Photoshop 7 myself but I'm a total newb.

Check out these that someone came up with over at livecard.net:

code for the 1st one:
Code:

2nd part
Code:

Pretty neat.

Anyone interested? I know its big, its easier for me to work with them this way and then shrink them in size. Suggestions on making it better are encouraged. Thanks

[quote name='Tha Xecutioner']Hmm for now all I can think to add is the av of Cheapy holding out the cash (i.e. the top left of the page)[/quote]

Whoa, I barely saw your reply, didnt think anyone cared/was interested. Thanks for the tip. I was thinking about that myself, and maybe taking CheapyD's face off, just like an outline and have the gamerpic there, but not sure if it will look good. I'll work on it sometime later.

[quote name='edison']Linkin, thanks for all the tags, but when I try to use SD Venom tag I get the livecard.net error picture.[/quote]
My bad...I had the wrong code in my sig.

Here's the correct one:

For some reason, their site won't let me upload a background image even though I made it in PhotoShop as a .PNG file. Maybe it's a Mac thing?

Not really, as long as its not too small. I can resize in Photshop. Do you have any ideas on what type of layout you want?

EDIT: Also its better if I get a better image with no backround and no hair or face getting cut off. This is what I've found:

These are strictly for fourms only.

Thanks for the compliments :D

Apparently Mac users have to use the developer method instead of the Flash-based creator. Any tips on using that route?

[quote name='LinkinPrime']That's pretty sweet. My suggestion would be to put white borders on the games played like the boxers have.[/QUOTE]
Yeah, that'll have to be done in Photoshop, since I don't believe that's an option in the actual editor, so I'll try that when I have some time.

Thanks for the suggestion :)

The developer route is far superior IMO anyway. I usually just use the creator to try to line up text/gamer pictures/gamer tiles in the general vicinity they go in anyway. From there, I use the dev editor side to add things like custom rep, ect. and to line everything up completely, then save and preview to make sure it looks right. The creator tool lacks the ability for most of the customization anyway and it's rather difficult to line things up perfectly in it as well.

My advice would be to just tinker with it and learn the ropes and then as you get comfortable with that, start adding your own custom pieces. For instance, my current gamercard (in my sig) there is a custom overlay for gold/silver account status and custom completion bars, and custom status markers, but there is a bunch more stuff you can add. Just look in the help section and the basics for all that stuff is in there. If you get stuck, try their forums. They are pretty good for the most part.

Thanks to LP for sweet cards!

Thanks for the compliments, and your welcome ;)

[quote name='JohnnyDrama']Those are awesome LP, my favorites are the Venom ones. When I get a 360 and sign up for Live, I'll use one. Do you take requests? :)[/quote]

Sure...Though I can't guarantee when I can finish one, I usually do it as I get free time.

I really wish MS would just release the API to people who aren't registered as community developers. I like livecard.net, but I'd prefer more fonts and whatnot. Right now that's the big thing limiting me from making my current card public.

On the forums you can request the admin Lucid to add a specific font...as long as its free he can add it. I'd suggest dafont.com

[quote name='seanr1221']Comeonnnn LP, you know you wanna whip me up a gamecard ;)[/quote]
Yeah, no problem. I'll see if I can whip something up within the next couple days.

Any colors or specifics in mind?

If you copied the PS3 one, and maybe used a silver-ish color?

Actually, if changing the color is too much, you can pretty much just make it look exactly like the PS3 tag. I'm sure that would only take 15 minutes or so.

Thanks!

(Having the 360 tag taller then the other 2 bothers me ;) )

Ok then, do you want the gold bar ontop with your name? Also, I might not be able to match the font, unless you know what its called and where to get it from?

It's ok if you can't match the font. Looking at the PS3 tag, where it actually says Playstation 3, if you could make that say Xbox 360. Then just change the Daxter to be my gamerpic, and the 5 games are obvious ;)

Like I said, don't worry about the rep, gamerscore, gold bar or anything, a basic cut and paste job ;)

I figured it would be too weird if it was black just like the PS3 so here you go:
