Most likely yes, it would be best to preorder. It may or may not be like the Halo 2 LE which is still available everywhere.

Edit: Can't forget about Oddworld Stranger's Wrath and Brothers in Arms either.

The LE material is also going to be on XBL at a later date.

It's being advertised at a few places like Circuit City too, so I'm sure it'll be available on the shelf for at least the first week or so.
 
And now it's final that I shall pre-order this game. Does anyone have any specifics on what the collector's edition will include? All I know is that it's mandatory for pre-ordering and it includes one extra character. I'm wondering if it's appearance will be any different; like if it will be a metal case (a la Halo 2) or if it will just something like, "Limited Collector's Edition" on it.
 
You don't really need to pre-order this at all. It's a "limited edition" in the same sense that MechAssault 2 had a LE that was the only version available for the first two months. You won't see a non-LE of Jade Empire for quite a while.

Real-time, not that realtime-ish KOTOR turn-based setup. Closer to Zelda in that regard.
 
Well Overstock.com/ has this for $45.10 and I decided to order it from there since I didn't know if BB would get the LE or not plus the shipping was only $1.

No, it's not. Admins at the official Jade Empire forums have said over and over and over again that there will be NO downloadable content.
