Has anyone had any luck with book depository? I checked my order status and it says processing - awaiting publication. I ordered from them ages ago, am I going to get my guide?

Mine says the same.

I didnt realize this was only going to be available at Amazon and Gamestop. Sigh.
 
FYI, the same situation happened with the Deus Ex future press guide and Amazon. The preorders were up, then went OOP limited availability. After the initial run shipped, they then had it in stock for order within the next few days, and it is still available today.
With a release like this which actually promotes buying the guide, and nothing to state it's limited, I would assume they should be available again soon.
 
It's available online again at gamestop.com. Any coupon codes besides the 10% off strat guides with pur card? That one is 10POWERUP but I think it'll auto apply.
 
Just FYI, my local GS's are getting them in today. I went there 1 hour too early; the dude said to check back later in the day after the UPS truck comes.

I'm not sure how many copies I'm gonna grab... my order from Amazon hasn't shipped either. May as well pick at least one up from GS on my way home.

Thank hopefully thats true of my GS. I ordered online but will grab another if they actually have it in store when I go.

Mine hasn't moved to shipping soon yet, but I don't think these ever have RDD so my guess is I'll have it by the 7th like they estimate. I can't take all this suspense, ship my DS CE Amazon!
 
I got one of these today but I think I might just keep it sealed unless I see 2nd shipments coming through. There will probably be better online guides for the game.
 
I picked up a local copy at Gamestop.. I then cancelled my preorder with book depository.. considering it has not shipped yet and the mix of positive and negative reviews, I figure I better pay the few dollars more and besafe.

For this game i do agree. At some point there is likely to be better. But in the case of Bayonetta and Vanquish no online resource matched the guide.
 
I...just placed my order last night. It SHOULD be here on Thursday, but I think I'll try to pick up another copy today just to be on the safer side of things.
 
So... I cleaned out my local stores. Bought 4 copies; they're only $23.XX after tax due to PUR giving 10% off guides.

I had called a few stores which got shipments in, and they said they immediately sold out of them (in a few hours of receiving shipment)... which is why I decided to grab all the copies I could. Lol.

any particular reason? Will this be hard to find later? I did pre-order one from Amazon but after seeing this thread i double checked and it has not shipped for some reason. Not really sure why. It shows the stores in my area have some, maybe i should go pick a copy up. Is something going on with the Amazon orders?
 
Ya this guide, much like the Dark Souls CE, is gonna be rare. My GS said they had all copies sold already with 1 left.

I recommend if you can get it at GS to go now. Everything Dark Souls is getting rare
 
I was able to get it for $20 at Gamestop, I guess they have a promo where if you bought the game, you get 10% off as well. And 10% off with my PUR card.

My order from Amazon hasn't shipped either, and from Future's facebook post/availability only being from Gamestop + Amazon in the US (Amazon is sold out, most of the nearby Gamestops were also sold out - within a few hours)...

I'm just being cautious. Could always return within 30 days anyways; I don't mind the charge on my credit card for the ease of mind.
 
Grabbed one at GS. I asked about it and he asked me if i preordered it. I said "Preordered the guide?" - "Yes" - "No, I didn't....". But he went behind the registers and grabbed one and I bought it. Looked like they had a couple more.
 
after getting the CE Guides of Deus EX, Killzone 3 and Portal 2 from bookdepository, i have my faith on them that they will deliver my Dark Souls CE guide in the next 2 weeks. (will keep it sealed anyway)

Haha, almost the exact conversation I had with the my GS guy.(My GS is awesome, BTW)

"Ya we don't have many extra guides since nobody pre-ordered it."
"You can pre-order guides?"
"Well, ya CE versions."
"Wow, did not know that."
 
Went and picked up my CE preorder from gamestop and they had also just gotten the guides in. Got 20% off for buying it with the preorder.
 
I had it preordered through Amazon for $24.99, but after the fiasco of the Dark Souls CE (ordered back in early June w/ release day shipping because Im a paid prime member, got an email saying shipping has been delayed, we will email you in a buisness day with new delivery date). I contacted Amazon customer service and the guy straight lied and said it has been delayed because they never receieved the shipment. I then said well I know several people who ordered after me and had their game shipped on time....he basically said impossible because they never received stock of the Dark Souls yet.

I canceled my guide from Amazon, and just went to GameStop and bought one ($23.62 after tax/w PUR card) I honestly prefered that I saw the guide in person so I know the guide condition is great. They received 5 guides around noon, only 2 guides left 3 hours later. My local gamestop also got 1x CE of Dark Souls for each PS3 & 360, of course those are for those who preorder, but the kicker is 10 people preordered before the CE upgrade cutoff date, so folks will be pissed.
 
Gamestop web site is showing available at several GS near me. I might go grab one. My Amazon Dark Souls pre-order (the game itself) arrived this afternoon, CE edition as expected. So yeah, Amazon is full of crap if they say they didn't get stock yet.
 
are the guides sealed? so if I go to a GS and they have them, I'd get 10% off if I use my card? I thought the 10% of guides was only on the website. this is good to hear for future reference for CE versions.

They should be if you go today. I know the guides they have on display are usually open, but when I picked this one up it was still sealed. You get 10% off if you use your PUR card, and another 10% if you buy the game when buying the guide.

The Amazon CS rep was name GAGANDEEP (WTF, Gag them deep?), he was pretty clueless, you can tell he was doing script reading, very generic responses, then he said sorry for inconvience here $5 credit, kinda a slap in the face since I pay almost $80 a year for Amazon Prime. I rather him of kept that $5 so he dont think he solved anything. Anyhow my order has been in the "Shipping Soon" stage for over 30 hours, rather rediculouse.

huh well i was out buying stuff for dinner and swung by the 2 GS's in my town. One had 1 left, the other said they had none except for two that were on hold for an employee.. that stores always sleezy though so who knows. I grabbed the one left at the decent store. It was mint and wrapped so thats cool. I'll see if i get my Amazon order. I wonder why it hasn't shipped yet?

I did the pickup in-store option at 3 different stores that had them "in stock". I'll check tomorrow and if there's a CE then I guess 20% off guide.

If someone does in-store pickup at GS, does the store"have to" hold it for you (even though no money is used yet)?
 
Picked up a copy at GS (they only had two copies remaining when I got there) just in case anything goes wrong with the Book Depository order. I've never had issues in the past with BD but wanted to be sure I was able to acquire a copy of this guide just in case it does a Bayonetta.
 
I put one on hold at gamestop. I hate to buy it there, but amazon pulled the PO. I guess I will get 10% off with any game purchase, but I am not a 'silver member' so I don't get the extra 10%.
 
Had to cancel my Amazon order and go with Gamestop. Got 10% off as well, so not bad overall. Guide it quite nice, tons of pictures, although you can't really tell whats going on. But great info and a must buy IMO.
 
Just got back from Gamestop with the guide.

Went by earlier and it was busy enough that I had to wait in line for almost half an hour to be told that none of the local stores received them.
They called a few hours later when UPS dropped the shipment off.

Sent an email to Book Depository to cancel my order.
If they don't, might try selling it to a fellow CAG for a fair price before going to Ebay and underselling everyone's $100 books.
 
So I realize half he CE went digital.. but saw the EU unboxing and thought we would ge the 2 cd's of music and behind the scenes in the US... is that the caes or are those also downloads?
 
So for those of you who have it... is the guide actually any good? (not concerned about past guides from Future Press) Thanks for any info!
 
Anyone know whats up with the Amazon orders? I went to gamestop and returned/rebought my CE and guide at one store for the 20% off.. good deal, but id like a 2nd copy, this guide looks really good. I had it pre ordered a while back, but it still shows it hasn't shipped yet. Which is funny because the delivery date shows between the 30'th and the 7th.. wtf?

Really good guide, 383 pages long.

I just started thumbing through my guide and it's pretty detailed with the weapons, enemies, and armour.
Can't comment on the important things like bosses and extra's, don't want to spoil things for myself so I avoided them.

Yeah, just canceled my Amazon pre-order. Went to my local GS, and when I asked about them having the guide, they actually hadn't opened the box with them in it yet!

So picked one up for 22.50, forgot the PUR card does 10% off of guides as well.
