I stopped by my local gamestop after work and was able to pick up the last PS3 Dark Souls CE. It was their last copy and apparently nobody preordered that one. Weird.

Went around to a few BB's in search of Ico/SoTC and couldn't find any but figured I would also ask for the Dark Souls CE and I'm glad I did. In the last BB I asked the guy and he told me it was on the shelf and I thought he thought I asked for just DS but didn't understand I wanted the CE but went to check it out and got the last copy of the CE on the shelf, they still had a few regular edition though.

So my copy finally shipped. It was stuck in "shipping Soon" for about 24 hours but it has shipped. Scheduled to be delivered tomorrow 10/5 and it's also in Indiana and it weighs 1.30 lbs (dunno if that's the collectors edition or not)

I got $0 after 2 calls and 45 min on the phone, and mine is still stuck in "Shipping Soon". Of course, I don't have release-date delivery, but it should at least SHIP by release-date for me.

I'm mostly afraid that they gave out all the CEs preferentially and all the free super-saver shipping people get screwed.

I pre-ordered on May 13 and my estimated delivery date is October 12-17. Unacceptable even for FSSS.

I'm finally starting to make progress with my shipment. It was stuck in Indianapolis like yours since 10:00PM on 10/03. It left Indianapolis at 8:32PM on 10/04 and just arrived in Columbus, OH at 12:06am. Hopefully yours is making some progress too and we can both get our copies by tomorrow (today, whatever). The weight of my package is 1.4 pounds too, so hopefully it will be the CE.
 
f'n amazon shipped my shit to the wrong address.
luckily it was not able to be delivered (no one lives in that apartment i guess).
So now I have to pick it up from the UPS store tomorrow after work.
 
Wanted to contribute with my experience at Worst Buy which is pretty much a rehash of mostly everyone's stories (except those few who were lucky enough to snag a CE). I had preordered the PS3 CE early last month. After reading reports from East Coast CAGs about problems with stock, I had a bad feeling as I drove to my local WB. I figured that the best case scenario was that the store ordered one, maybe two copies at most. So I got there a couple of minutes before it opened and made sure I was right in front of the entrance. I went straight to the game section and showed my preorder receipt to the associate. He searched for it in the back for 15 minutes but told me that the shipment hadn't come in yet for the CEs. He claims that 9 were ordered and told me to call back tomorrow. Yeah right. It looks like I'll get the CE strat guide before I get my hands on the game! I'll probably go the GS route (although I hardly shop there) and call a few of the stores near me if there are any unclaimed CEs they can sell to me.

So to sum it up...fuck Worst Buy and fuck Namco!

Odd. One call of not even 10 minutes (and most of the was him issuing the credit) and I was good to go. I didn't mention a credit or say much of anything, really. He checked the order, referenced some note regarding issues with the distributor and offered the credit.

I just finally got shipping confirmation about five minutes ago. It's set to arrive tomorrow, weighs 1.3lbs and the confirmation lists it as "Dark Souls Collector's Edition". The bad thing is I already picked up an SE today (just wanted to play the damn thing) and can't say I'm really all that stoked about the CE anymore.
 
Man I'd be so pissed right if I had ordered from BB. Are they giving the $20 GC to everyone that preordered or only if you decide to downgrade and get the standard edition? They should definitely be giving everyone at least $20.

Really it should be $30 if you buy the standard and $20 if you don't since they're offering a $10 GC with it now anyway.

I think the $20 GC (which I got on each of two copies, one PS3, one 360) is given out only if you preordered the CE and whine about it. Once you bring in your receipt showing that you ordered a CE, they offer the $20 GC per preorder. This was fine with me, I think it was a very fair solution to the problem. Having heard all the bad stories about the CE anyway, I'm happy to have the games @ $40+tax per copy on release day! :mrgreen:

I see. Not bad then as long as you don't have to buy the standard. People still shouldn't have to complain first.

I was so pissed I forgot to get the $20 gc and just left with price matching it for $49.96. Seriously fuck Best Buy up the ass, is there any way I can convert these gift cards to amazon gift cards?

You do have to buy each game that you preorder to receive the gift card, AFAIK. I bought both 360 and PS3 versions, which I had planned to do anyway. I used the GC from the first game on the 2nd game, which made it a little better. Still have a $20 GC to use later.

Anyway, i now have 2 copies of the CE guide from GS.. i still dont know whats going on with the Amazon order. It still shows that my CE guide has NOT shipped. With how much they screwed up with the game itself im wondering if they oversold these things too. If ithe guide ships i'll return one of these probablay. If not i'll just keep them both. I want one to read and one to keep sealed. Hell though, if these are gonna be rare i wonder if its worth keeping all 3.

By the way no one ever answered my question: To those of you who had canceled newegg orders and that actually got an email. What was the e-mail address they sent a message from? I still have not got any email indicating my canceled order, or a $20 rebate. I had to manually go check it out myself after reading about it here. I wanted to try searching my spam folder but it would go faster if i knew the email address.

I always wanted one of those =D My backlogs to the point where I dont think i'll ever play them. These are just most of the the 360 games i havent played yet (everything but the very bottom small row above the original xbox, which are games i have played, and the top left half of the top row because those are some wii games i havent played). I think the only system i dont have a backlog for would be the game gear o_O. Looks like Demons souls is going onto the pile of PS3 games. I actually do want to play this one but my ps3 has been broken for months, and even if it was working, im not sure if id want to open it now with how rare its seeming it will be. maybe i'll get the regular version in a month or 2 when it drops. its good to read some people are getting their amazon orders in correctly though!

Yep. NBA 2K10 10th Anniversary game locker. The combination lock that came with it really feels like a piece of shit though. Other than that, I mainly got it because it featured Kobe on the box and cover. I haven't had interest in basketball games since NBA Live 2004. Who needs simulated basketball, anyway? I want to score 200 points on dunks and three-pointers. That's my idea of fun. Anyway. Not really that big. Most CE's arranged to consume the least amount of space as possible and all PS1 and PS2 games in boxes.

Blah, my Amazon preorder from 6 months ago is still just "shipping soon". WTF!? It should have at least shipped on the 4th if not gotten here today. I have Prime and all that too...
 
Did anyone preorder the guide book from Book Depository Ltd?
My preorder still hasn't shipped yet and I am considering canceling it and picking it up at a local Game Stop.

Purple is my favorite color as well. And, yes, that is the Hannah Montana Lilac-colored PSP. I don't care what anybody says, I like the color. :lol: The PC or xbox anniversary game lockers may be more useful since they can fit other things than PS3 games. I thought I saw the 360 version for sale for like 39.99 months ago. Even if you don't care for the game (who would want it now?), an opportunity to get the bundle for cheap is worth it strictly for the locker alone.

Leo, my ship status on UPS just updated and it is on the way for delivery for tomorrow, Wednesday, the 5th of October.
 
The UPS status on my order finally updated. Says it should be here by tomorrow.

I used the $10 credit i got for my game being late to pre-order MW3 Hardened edition since gamestop is no longer taking pre-orders for it.

They arent OOS at gamestop.com. That's the weird thing. People pay crazy ebay prices when theyre readily available for half the price. Whatever. Sold one of mine.
