What level are you currently and what are your stats? I'm like Slvl 17, just entetered lower Undead Parish. I love the feeling you get when you unlock a shortcut and you realize you don't ahve to go thorugh the long brutal way anymore

I want to make sure I'm speccing such that my guy doesn't suck endgame.
I don't know how they'll make NG++, +++, etc. They can't make it harder and harder if your level eventually caps but the enemies doesn't....right?
Also, did anyone try to Dragonhead infinite item cheat with humanity? Confirmed to give infinite humanity?
I'm SL100 because I'm still debating how to allocate my final stats. Chances are if the PvP crowd starts showing up at 125 again, I'd probably redo my character anyway.
With shortcuts, this game is brutal. The further in you are, the more they like to hide them and bonfires. For as punishing as the game is, I think this is a misstep since with practice this shit just gets tedious. I'm right at the final boss now and they made this game far too long. The level design for the final areas even feels like they started to get lazy because after you get through the shithole that is catacombs and tomb of giants, it feels like a walk in the park. I'm not sure if I even want to play through this again two more times for the plat because it seriously burns you out.
I used the exploit last night and it works on any item you can equip. Humanity caps at 99, but is worthless after 30 anyway unless you're ranking up chaos servant (which you need to spend 30 for a spell if you want that trophy). That brings me to probably my only complaint for the game: there's just too many secrets and shit going on to keep track of.
I'm a completionist and this shit drives me nuts. Seriously, even when I was using the guide for certain areas, do you think they would mention that black phantom X is here and you need to be human for him to invade? NOPE! And now that the boss is dead, guess what I get to do if I want to get their weapon: NG+. That's just one example, but when you're trying to accomplish as much as you can on the first playthrough, it really doesn't help when they're constantly moving NPCs around where you buy spells from and even removing them from the game at certain times. Demon's Souls was just much less complicated and sadly, I see it as the superior game in terms of design. The bosses were a hell of a lot more engaging to beat, too.

So can anyone walk me through upgrading weapons and ascension? I seriously don't understand what I'm doing wrong that none of the blacksmiths will upgrade my Scimitar+5 to +6 and higher. I want to make Queelag's Furysword and I assume you need a Scimitar+10 for ascension. You guys had started listing items that made getting certain trophies easier I think, yet I can't find any blacksmiths that will touch them even though I'm almost positive I have handed out all the embers in the game now. Seriously, this shit should not be this complicated so I have no clue what is wrong.
