Dark Souls (Project Dark) - October 4, 2011
For your guide thing Jodou, theres a part in Firelink with 4 chests containing a Morning Star, 4 cracked red eye orbs, some Llyod's talismans, and the important one, a talisman. You can get to it by rolling off the staircase near above the guy who sells miracles. You don't have to have the elevator working to do it either, so you can save some souls and get a talisman free in this way.
Derp, there's actually an easier way I forgot about and that's to just roll straight down the elevator shaft. Yeah, I'll correct the guide thanks.

Okay, so I did the glitch to get 99 humanity, but now no one is dropping ANYTHING. I have 420 item find with the gold ring , and salamanders didnt drop anything. One clam I killed dropped nothing. Titanite Demon didn't drop anything (right b4 Darkwood Garden). Mushroom kids aint dropping anything. Did I mess up my game?

Dropping is just random, the only area with a 100% drop rate is kiln of first flame(before the boss)

Just finished it.

But before I did that, I spent a couple hours PVPing in the last area. I mostly just summoned dragon guys to fought against them. I only won once out of maybe 10 times, but that's all right. It was enough to get the last dragon scale to fully upgrade my moonlight greatsword.

Before I did the PVP, I was trying to get summoned so I put down my white sign and the next thing I know I was invading someone. I have no idea how it happened.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a shield? I like my armor (gold hemmed) and weapons, but I don't really like my shield. I've been using the Bloodshield.

Also, it wasn't until the last area that I learned those orange summon signs were for summoning black phantoms, they're sunbros. I saw my first actual red sign in the last area which made me realize.

Went through a little of the beginning of new game +. Killed the Asylum Demon in 2 hits with homing crystal soulmass and the Taurus Demon in 3.

I use a Magic Tower Shield +5(light, compared to all the other big shields)
Jodou, what was your strategy for the final boss? It's been driving me nuts.
Iron Flesh: then just two hand your best weapon
I've been using the hollow soldier shield, same damage reduction as your current shield, but with 7 more guard break reduction (+0.5 weight). I skimmed through the guide and was disappointed that not much else can beat it's guard break reduction when fully upgraded to +15, even among the bash shields.
Iron Flesh: then just two hand your best weapon
Lol, well that's the easy way but for a good shield just use the Dragon Crest for the 80 fire mitigation. Quite frankly, it doesn't matter what you use since most his stuff will miss if you find his blind spot circle-strafing. This entices him to try and grab you, so strike with he misses. I just did that for about 5 minutes and he barely scratched me.

Alright, sat down with the guide for a couple hours so massive update incoming.

Can someone help me real quick?

I am using a warrior class. I'm level 23ish right now and I have only been leveling Endurance, Strength, and Dex. Should I level anything else?

i play the xbox version but i thinking about restarting lol

i drank my fire soul, got the hp regen ring but it dont regen hp, and got my spell trainer mad at me (pryomancer, i attcked him trying to free him lol) and it'll cost me about 44k souls to forget my sins. =p

only at the depths so i know i could get back to the same point pretty fast now that i got those places memorized, the sewers boss is a bit tough tho

Gaping dragon is one of the easiest bosses in the game imo.

Just wait for him to charge & stop then attack him. Run away and wait for him to do it again.

Rinse & repeat

it's mostly teh 1st 5 seconds if he's goign to jump attack and the dogs for me

once i can kill teh dogs im pretty good tho. but really i died the most to him lol.

i fought this one guy guarding the basin too, took like 7 backstabs. got him down but then realized i wasn't high enough for the area lol. =p

i also want to reroll because i chose pyromancer and i want more of a soccer type class early on in the game hehe.

Wow, that part in Anor Londo with the 2 archers shooting at you from both sides has got to be one of the cheapest things I've ever seen in a game. fuck that fucking bullshit.

Yeah... I tried to go back in there before beating the final boss and I was still getting killed at that part.

yup.

deleted a level 56 character because i was stuck in anor lando at those fucking knights with spear bows. i had no tools to deal with them and no way to leave anor lando to get those tools so i just cut my losses and deleted my character.

i also deleted a level 37 because i set my controller down and it hit r2 and took a chunk out of the blacksmith in the undead parish and it was going to cost some ungodly amount of souls to pardon me.

my only surviving character is a 42 mage. i hope i don't fuck something up with him cuz i don't think i'll play anymore if all my work is negated.
Yeah Loonknight I got invaded by that same dude, he's an NPC. A lot of levels have something like that, you'll get invaded if you're in human form if you pass a certain area before defeating the area boss.

Unless you're being invaded by 'Cockslayer81031' it's probably an NPC that's invading you.
Okay that makes sense. Felt bad I didn't give it a fair fight since I didn't want to take any chances seeing that he just popped up and I didn't feel like dying since I didn't get to the bonfire yet. Now I can continue on waiting for a real invader.
I love beating people who invade that use fog ring.
Ha, well I don't even use lock on when I'm pvping, so yeah doesn't affect me either.

Well, now I'm starting to be invaded by guys obviously level capped. Just got three-shot by someone using a lightning sword. Only reason he got me was the lag was so fucking god awful. They seriously fucked up PvP in this game by not having dedicated servers among other things. It really gets to the point of who can strike first and keep swinging, because you're not going to get a dodge off with 2-3 second lag. Oh well, I'm on the home stretch now for my plat so it won't be long before I shelf this one for BF3.

hehe damn took only like a hour getting back to the drake sword. amazing how difficulty prolongs this game

im really digging the sorcery too as i get to use magic a lot more. i just wonder if i should of burnt the points in teh str for the drake sword as im mostly just shooting magic =p

being able to use the Drake Sword early game makes things A LOT easier.

u can leave Anor Londo lol, just go back to the place where u were dropped off and talk to the devil bird and h'ell take you back to Sens

So I just killed the Undead Merchant in the Undead Burg not knowing that he wasn't en enemy.
Will he respawn or am I just without that merchant now?

next merchant is Andrei The Blacksmith, only thing significant that first merchant sells was a repair box(which u can get from andre).

at least u got my favorite pvp weapon XD

Chaos Ughikatana +5 >

Those 2 archers in Anor Londo are easy if handled right. Walk up the thin platform, and when you get to the top, sprint to the right until you get to the archer, and carefully fight him or knock him off. The other archer can't shoot you when you're there, you just gotta run quickly so you don't get shot in the back.

Having the hardest time with the Anor Londo boss. By myself, I can always get Smough down to like 3 more hits til dead but Ornstein always stabs me in the back or side. Ornstein also rarely lets me heal even though I run behind a pillar.

Tried a few times with Soltaire NPC helping, but it's hasn't worked out so far since both always go for him and I can't seem to fully separate them. I hate how I can easily be summoned to help others with this boss, but as a human in my world, I haven't seen anyone to summon in the past 2 hours! Tried looking at the base of the stairs after the elevator and at the boss fog gate - nothing! Wasted 10 humanity already and even leveled up a few to 42.

killing Smough first is such a pain LOL

Also i found out if you kill the princess Anor Londo turns dark & all the huge knights turn into "special knights" and theres a hidden mini boss battle

Yeah it is! I heard about everything turning dark, but never heard about the sentry knights becoming special and a mini boss battle.

Anyhow, I'm so happy now! After numerous failed attempts I finally got a good group to kill the boss. At first I thought we were screwed because right off the bat, Ornstein charged at us and instantly killed one guy, but the other guy and I managed to pull it off.

Nice!

I wonder how hard it is to kill Smough first when you're going Solo.

I'll find out on N++, not even sure if I want to plat the game anymore LOL its so frustrating sometimes.

Edit to this post.

The mini boss is just the fire keeper from the 1st anor londo bonfie(she turns hostile)

But the two giant knights turn into respawnable dark moon knights that drop 15k souls each. (perfect place for farming)

Oh, thank God. I just had the most bullshit invader come in and slaughter me and two phantoms. I just started Andor Londo, and before I know it, I encounter a bell gargoyle. I was able to summon two phantoms before he had a chance to kill me. So they come in and we take him out easy.

They're leading me along since it's obvious I don't know where to go. we make it across the beams near the ceiling when I get the phantom has invaded message. I'm thinking, "cool. no problem", cuz I got these two guys who got skill and know what they're doing. So we wait for him at the bottom of the first ladder. He comes down, I can barely see him, cant lock-on, and got slowed down by the same spell the stone nights used on me in the darkroot garden. We never stood a chance, 3-5 quick hits is all it took, he even had time to taunt us after a kill.

At that point I stopped playing and started looking up what spells/equipment he used and just shook my head when I found out. Seems like the multiplayer in this game is broken in so many ways.

I'm trying to find out what is the best sword to use, something extremely similar to the Blueblood sword in DS, does anyone know if there is one like that?

Sadly, nothing in this game can compare to The Blueblood Sword.

I use a Chaos Ughikatana +5 and its as quick & powerful as the Blueblood.

The same thing apparently happens if you kill Dark Sun Gwyndolin underneath. You have to kill her twice for the platinum. I never bothered going back to Anor Londo to find out though.

Well I managed to get my platinum around 83 hours. I had to start over with my character (too high SL at the time) once I found about dragon scales/souv of reprisals. It is easier to get those as a low level due to the crap matchmaking in this game. I'll check out the game again after reading up on the future reactions of the new patch from the PvP community to see if its worth coming back to.

hahahahaha, last night they Hydra in Ash Lake just glitched and killed itself somehow. I'd sprinted past it to get to the dragon covanent bonfire, and when I was coming back all of a sudden I saw it floating away/clipping through the sand, and then I suddenly got 2 dragon scales and 20000 souls :D

Apparently it was so terrified of my lvl100 self that it fled in terror ;)

That just happens if you run past it and visit the dragon.

You don't need dragon scales for the platinum, do you? It's also possibly to farm souvenir of reprisals from normal enemies too, although I haven't actually tried that yet.

That link doesn't say any of those things; leaked notes? I'm fine with those except fixing the item exploit. All removing that does is make grinding souls tedious if you want to make a new PvP character and if they'd fix the real issue of their shit matchmaking system, wouldn't harm anyone.

Also, anyone who has beat the game must watch this. Really inspiring to see the best boss strats available all in one place:

It didn't for me. I went all the way down the hollow to the dragon after blighttown. Decided not to join the covenant yet since I didn't want any sin. So I ran all the way back up. Pretty big waste of my time all im all, though that ring from the hollow is pretty sweet.

I've been thinking of upgrading that, but at the same time I've kept my eye in the Iaito, it has a +300 on something.
