Wow, the Iron Golem at the end of Sen's Fortress was a great place to get summoned tonight. I got summoned 4 times and on 2 of them I got sunlight medals, even. That is such an easy boss to kill, especially when the host summons two people. I actually got summoned 5 times but in the first one the host got killed almost immediately. The other times I noticed the golem either getting knocked down or stunned or just confused a few times because we were able to pelt it and it didn't even fight back. One time it was like 10-15 seconds total .
After that I backtracked to where Solaire is in the beginning of the game. That was a pain because while the cage provides a shortcut, you still have to fight a snake knight and deal with the snake mage while crossing the first set of axes. I tried to ignore the mage but he almost knocked me off the path while I was trying to get through so I had to go back and up the stairs and take him out with arrows first, which takes a while (didn't want to risk running through those blades to get him up close). I have 5 banked humanity from the summonings and I didn't want to lose those - I'm saving them for the bonfires in the Painted world and Anor Londo if I can keep them that long...
I was disappointed but not surprised to see Solaire gone (I suppose he is in Anor Londo now since I went to the outside of that before backtracking). But going up to the altar (which does not fix itself - always looks broken thus answering a question I have asked here at least twice with no answer

) allowed me to join the covenant. So now I want to get back up there and get summoned a few more times and just get that ranking up out of the way now.
But I have to get back up the cage first and that makes me nervous because it is quite far from the bridge with the axes - it looks like you
might fall if you try to step on but I assume they are meant to be ridden up so I'll just have to try it. And also there are two of them that are open and I'm afraid the wrong one will result in me getting killed...
He is an Anor Londo, he is easy to find, he is sitting next to the 2nd bonfire that you find so I killed him and took his armor, he was quite surprised.
The distance between the walkway and the cage you ride up to Sen's Fortress roof is pretty far so I was worried about falling too, but you don't, there is an invisible plank or something that you walk on. There is no difference between the two cages, there are two just like there are two lifts to the Undead parish, one stays up while the other stays down. Run past the first set of blades, pause under the bridge so the mage can't hit you and let the knight on the walkway come to you. Then either kill him outright or hold your shield in guard until he hits himself off the walkway. Move into the cage and the door will close before the mage can get a shot off.
What level are you? At first I was using the golem for summonings but I can go for long stretches when no one summons me so I am afraid I am too high or too low. The reason he gets stunned is he is like the Tower Knight from Demon's Souls, enough hits to the heel cause him to get stunned and then fall to his knees.

Now I'm kind of lost. There are those huge dragon ogre dudes on one way, then there are mini-Capra Demons the other way. I would like to get back to firelink soon...
Only way back to firelink I think is to backtrack to lower blightown and ride the waterwheel up to Valley of the drakes and then new londo ruin, at least until you get the Lordvessel and you can warp.
