It just bombed in sales, but overall it got a positive response from critics and gamers.

Just like darkness one (to a lesser extent) it was a solid A- tier game that didn't get the promo it deserved. A great game at that price, don't hesitate! Both Darkness 1&2 are easily worth $20... each.

Not as much polish as the blockbuster AAA+ titles these days, but there's no reason to pass it over if you're interested in single player FPS games.

Yea I loved the first Darkness game and still have it. I just wanted to get this at a lower price since my backlog is enormous.
 
Wow, I never thought a lot of people liked Darkness 1. I picked it up for $5 years ago and sold it quickly afterwards, I thought it was just terrible. $20 for 2 is pushing it for me, I probably won't consider giving the second a shot until $10 and under.

Darkness 1 definitely has "rough edges" (it shows its age in the modern market) but I don't know how you could have played it at release and cast it aside at $5. It definitely lacks a lot of the "hand holding" elements of modern shooters in the first 5hours (for better or worse) but the gameplay and story are pretty solid.

Not sure how much more polish you are expecting. It was an awesome campaign with a bunch of collectables - and you wanted to get all of them just to hear the story behind it.

The voice acting was top notch. And the added on missions give a lot more to do after the campaign.

It's one failing is that the main campaign was about 6 hours long - which most people consider too short.

Six hours?:roll: That's frickin' ridiculous. As for the collectibles thing, that has and always will be to me one of the ways companies pad their games length artificially. Unless it's recordings that flesh out the main storyline more or the collectibles are unique items with a story all their own behind EACH one, it's just a waste of time to bother getting them imo.:whistle2:#
 
Wow. I'd love to pay $20 or less for Darkness II. I had a lot of fun with the first one. Kinda wish Starbreeze had done the second one as well instead of taking on "Syndicate", but I hear the devs did a good job on Darkness II. Show us the money BB!

I felt this way about arkham city. It was a pretty good game but the a.lot of the challenges and side missions felt like filler

If you can get it for $20 I would say pick it up. I rented and played it off and on for a 2 weeks and had a great time with it.

The store by me wouldnt ship store to store and still allow me to use the gamers club coupon with Dead Island last month...how are you able to do this? Silver member?

I stand around and bs with the gaming reps while I'm there. For example, earlier today I had a lil conversation regarding my ban from trading with the rep at my closest store. He got a kick outta the fact that the banhammer finally caught up with me. Last week when I asked the rep at the other store to make the store to store order for Homefront, he was discussing which items to grab at closing stores to get the most profit out of them. He was also telling me how when he worked for CC 4-5 years ago that he cleared them out of anything halfway decent in some sections during those closing sales.

But I am also a silver member(on two accounts:shock::lol:) for this year, though my main account is probably due to all of my trades.

Anyway, I picked up my copy of Homefront for PS3 today. It's complete.

Then I went to the other local store to thank the rep who ordered it for me(and to tell him bout my banning finally:lol:), but he wasn't working today. So I stopped by a local GS to see if I could buy some games for the Target promo, but they reminded me I'm on the 'naughty' list and wouldn't sell me any.:cry:
 
How do they remember a face if you've been banned two year I'm lucky to see the same people working there for 3 months and there are about 4 gamestops within 5 miles of each other overhere it's weird they all know your banned :/.

Strange thing for me is I was talked into trading at BestBuy instead of Gamestop by the same guy thats done all of my trade-ins, and yet I still got banned. He knows I didnt do anything to get banned and had him call Corporate to find out why I was banned and even he couldn't do anything. I like my Bestbuy in store people they are all cool, but I cant get anything like you get done and Corporate sucks ass.

I've wasted so much time being nice and getting nowhere that I'm pretty much only using coupons from the magazine at this point for $5 games. I couldn't care less about any reward zone points or purchasing anything else from Bestbuy.

Just a heads up for people:

It works on the specific coupons, but not on the general used $10 of $29.99+ coupon. You will get the 20% off for the store closing but the 10% GCU will not come off (Yes it was on its own receipt). I was just at a closing BB.


I tried to PM the twitter account and first they told me it could have been hacked. After I disproved that they said the deals are online only, so they can't pm anyway. :roll:
