Best Buy Upgrade & Save - Now With 100% More Wikification!!

How does it work?
Trade in ANY DVD (except for porn, you weirdos) and get a $5 off coupon towards any Blu-Ray priced $9.99 or above.
Yes, ANY DVD - this includes things you bought at the Dollar Store, individual discs from compilations or TV shows, and ex-rentals from Blockbuster (RIP).
Cases and artwork aren't required, but it definitely increases the acceptance rate if you're bringing in disc four of Sanford & Son's third season.

Wait, that's it? There has to be more to it, right?
Well, not really. It's pretty simple.
Step 1. Trade in DVD's for $5 off coupons.
Step 2. ???
Step 3. Profit!

The usual FAQ/tips/etc.
Coupons are 1:1 - for each DVD traded, one coupon is given.
Coupons don't have to be used at time of trade in.
Coupons do not stack with each other. No combining U&S coupons for $40 off of the Star Wars box set.
Coupons MAY stack with price matches, manufacturer coupons, and current Best Buy promos. YMMV, ya know?
Discounts are taken from the selling price of the Blu-Ray $9.99 or higher. $9.99 becomes $4.99, $12.99 becomes $7.99, and so on. $4.99 Blu-Rays are still $4.99 though.
Coupons are B&M only - must be redeemed in-store.

Since this is a wiki post now, feel free to add in suggested titles (I prefer those $9.99 gems or sale items that become $4.99 after coupon, but to each their own) down below.

thats the combo i got. lol i forgot to put that. I had gotten it 2 days ago for $20, so i rebought it today and am gonna return the other one saturday to get back my $20, thus getting the movie for $14.99 overall lol I have to go back there on saturday anyway to trade a few more in and get some more movies. just pissed neither best buy near me had Evil Dead or Army of Darkness, but both had plenty of Evil Dead 2, 25th anniversary ones so i at least got that. Goin back tomorrow for a handful like the movie Nine (9), Adjustment Bureau, and maybe Cowboys and Aliens. I'm sorry but I love that movie, have yet to meet anyone who agrees. lol I like cowboy stuff AND alien stuff so its a perfect match for me. They were out of Donnie Darko special editions too which is $9.99 which sucked as well but whatever. If only this worked online somehow
 
Picked up Super 8 for $4.99. I think my BB had the wrong price($9.99 on the cover but the computer listed it as $12.99). Lucky break for me:)

So I just got home after doing the trade in and getting the blu rays and I didn't even notice because I had also done an in store pickup, the cashier just left the trade in coupon and the receipt in my bag. without anything being crossed out? Does that mean I can still use it >_>
 
Picked up the first 5 star trek movies. May go back for VI-X.

shame filmaf.com doesnt have all these in their database yet. hopefully ill remember to check later to add them.

I think I'll try trading some dvds that came with music cds. Not the same but maybe they'll take them.

I traded in 3 dvds and they gave me a receipt with all three on it, I've used it 7 times at multiple Best Buys, and they never crossed anything out, so yea keep using it until they cross it out.

It was a hard decision for me but I ended up with Spawn Directors cut. I think I'm gonna pick up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 and 2 tomorrow.
 
Side note: a TON of great Sony movies will be $9.99 tomorrow, so $5 after coupon. Included amongst the list is Drive, all Fast & Furious movies, Taxi Driver, all Underworld movies, and all of the Bourne movies.
 
The fast and the furious series is the new rerelease that has the blu-ray/uv/digital copy. Plus the slip covers match so I guess I'm picking those up.

Whats up with the Scarface BBY exclusive? Steelbook? I haven't been checking the steel book thread lately -goes to read up a few pages-

I forgot to pick up Star Trek this week doh.

We don't know if the FF will have the slips. They are dated the same date as the ones there where just released but we don't know if they will have slipcovers. And it is only the first 4 that will be $9.99.

Also Scarface is not, repeat probably not the Reel Hero Steelbook. That has different SKU all together and dated for 06-25-13. It is on the website for that date. If anything this one for $9.99 will probably have moviecash for Oblivion since they are both Uni titles.
 
Can someone compile a list of the Sony blu-rays that'll be $9.99 starting today? I noticed that Shutter Island is $9.99 and I'm hoping some other movies I enjoyed are also that price.

Thanks. I'm in for Drive and the first 3 Underworld movies (already have Fast and Furious and Taxi Driver).

Has anyone seen Underworld, Underworld Awakening, and Underworld Rise of the Lycans in stock at their store? I can't tell if it's just the BB stock checker being crappy or if my stores actually have no stock for these. Only a couple stores nearby have Rise of the Lycans, but the rest are unavailable everywhere.

Looks like some misinformation. The Bourne and one Underworld movie are in the ad for 14.99, so 9.99 after coupon.

Good luck finding them in store. My local store didn't have any Fast and Furious films in bluray for a weeks now. The only Underworld seen has been Awakening, which in ad is 14.99.

I saw American Pie 1, 2 on the website for 9.99 (on their online ad; ad with trade/save)... I haven't seen either in stores for at least 8 months.
 
Usually the last week of the promo my BB stores are wiped out to hell of any 10 dollar blu ray. I hope they restock this week with some stuff.
 
I'd like to know where you all are seeing the Fast and Furious movies on the website for $9.99, when I look all I see is $14.99. When I went to the store the signs they had posted had two different ones for the DVD versions. The signs for each movie had one DVD version for $4.99 and another for DVD listed for $9.99. So, I think the blurays are not on sale.

There are two listings, one at $14.99 and one at $9.99. The difference is rumored to be a slipcase.
 
Went to a different store today and found a few new movies I will have to go back for like Taxi Driver and The Patriot.
 
Took in 5 dvds I was handed 5 coupons, BB employee didn't even look in the bag >.>

the first 4 fast and furious movies are indeed 9.99. I just bought all four and drive for $25 using the coupons. The 9.99 fast and furious blurays all have slip covers and movie cash for fast 6. Also, if anyone is having trouble finding them, i found them on an end cap. So you might wanna check those.

Good for me because I already have Underworld awakening. I just want to buy the first 3 movies that are $9.99.

Thanks, my store didn't have copies with slipcovers today, but there was an employee doing a bunch of rearranging to the dump bin movies. So, maybe they were going to be changing out some endcaps.
 
Grabbed Iron Man 2, Avengers, Heat, and Star Trek Saturday.

I wish i could have gotten Louie S2 for $15 :( . Anyone get an extra copy/wanna trade?
 
Think Life of Pi is worth a blind buy at $15? I didn't like Avatar that much so if it's all show and no go, then I'd like to avoid it.

I thought the movie was excellent- it's definitely not all show (I saw it in 2D, not 3D).

However, I don't blind buy any movie for $15, so I can't recommend you pick this up at that price! :)
 
Life of Pi is nothing like Avatar. It's introspective, philosophical movie with some great special effects.

I also don't blind buy (but period, price doesn't matter) so I can't recommend that. And I'd put extra caution in this one as it seem to be a bit or a love it or hate it kind of movie among my friends/family. So I'd check it out via a Netflix or Redbox rental first.
 
Life of Pi starts off realllllly slow, but once he gets to the raft, it gets a lot better. The visuals are really good, better than Avatar, and they help push the story. With that said, liked the movie, but will be waiting for about $10. Although its good, its just one of those movies that I can't see myself watching that often.
 
Picked up Taxi Driver, The Patriot, Airplane, and Sunshine today all for $4.99 each after U&S. I think I am done with this round of U&S movies. I think I ended up with at least 20 new movies this time around.

I watched a UV copy of it last night and I enjoyed it. As others said, it does start a little slow, but picks up after about 40 mins or so. The visuals are absolutely amazing, it's like watching a nature documentary at times. The story is told really good, and there are some really intense parts. I do have to say for me personally that I probably won't watch it again for a long time, and perhaps just for the visuals if I did.

If I had to describe it, I'd say it's like an Indian version of Cast Away but on a boat, and with animals instead of a volleyball. That's a simple way of looking at it, it is a deeper movie than that though.

I got quite a few as well, can't really beat $5 a pop for good movies
 
So if I trade a DVD I get whatever its worth PLUS the $5 coupon? Or just get a $5 coupon across the board?

The DVDs are worth "nothing"... you just get a $5 coupon for each applicable (read: mass-produced, non-pornography) DVD.

This why people are giving BB a whole bunch of $1 or cheaper titles from dollar stores!
