gkleinman, founder of DVDTalk, will provide details at midnight tonight (6/16). I will update this topic as more information develops. Odds are that it is this weekend, but I don't know for certain. Sorry to jump the gun and post with so little information, but I know not everyone here reads DVDTalk, and I wanted to provide a heads-up.

Anyone interested in the sale should prepare their wishlist as soon as possible. DDD slows down considerably during these sales (at least, it has in the past), so it is best to have a list of what you want before it starts.

thanks op, been wondering when this sale was going to occur. It is tempting to pick something up, but I really don't want to buy DVDs anymore. I'm waiting for a High Definition DVD to come out (Blu-ray or HD-DVD). I don't own many DVDs anyway. All I have is Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, and Star Wars. No other DVDs to even speak of.

I'll also stick to video games. I feel I get more value and replay out of my games then a DVD.
 
Beast Wars sets 1 and 2 backordered. Expected shipping 6/27. ouch! Is DDD known to be often canceling orders? Cuz I have no use for just set #3.

Holy crap, you can use the code on DVD storage racks too! I'll definitely have to look into that further, since I've been in DESPERATE need of some proper shelf space... right now I've just got this one cabinet with DVDs literally spilling out of it.

Also, a friendly reminder to all CAGs.... if you're having trouble finding something, try getting a little creative with your searches. I was looking for Sex And The City DVDs for my girlfriend (YES, for my girlfriend), and for some reason the 6th Season PART 2 set wasn't showing up. So I did a search for just "6th season"... this time it showed up, because for whatever reason, they listed that one as "Sex & The City" (ampersand instead of the word "and").

Yes, you can basically place as many orders as there are valid codes, which is why I have been trying to get people to try the unconfirmed codes and post whether or not they work. We currently have a larger compiled code list than either FW or DVDTalk, and it would be nice to know that they are all valid.

There are too many unknown variables (number they have in stock, number of people ordering it, etc) to be able to give an informed answer to that question, but I will say that the risk would increase if you ordered it. ;)

You may ask, and thank you for checking the codes. Not knowing how DDD tracks their code usage, I didn't want to try a code I was not about to use, fearing that it might make it impossible for me to use the code at a later time when I am ready. Therefore, I felt it made sense for people to post them as they use them.

Sweet! I got my shipping confirmation for the order I placed at 6:00 this morning, and nothing was delayed. (They had said this morning that Dead Zone: Season One was OOS, but that shipped, too)
 
If your thinking of buying something but still not sure keep upping the quantity it will tell you how many they have in stock. It works kind of like EB but you gotta manually find how many they do have. Once you hit a certain number it will say this item is no longer in stock.

I haven't seen either the Boomstick Edition or the Book of the Dead editions of Army of Darkness/Evil Dead series. I only found the regular editions of the movie.
 
For all of those anime enthusiasts out there, though Samurai Champloo and Full Metal Alchemist come out after this sale, Yu Yu Hakousho comes during it on Release Date: 06/21/05. Woo!, well at least for me. Really really like the series. Not up there with Comboy Bebop, but the show is very enjoyable for me.

Edit: GF asks if you guys know which are the two NGE movies. Those are the only things of NGE that we're missing after I picked it up for her last year for $40 at rightstuf.

Goddamnit! I've been waiting for this sale forever then it comes too soon, but I'm still determined to buy something till guess what, my tire blew out on the freeway. Now I have to spend $300 on 2 new tires... seriously, God does not want me to have anymore DVDs.

They raised the price on one of the DVDs I bought yesterday. It's the "Life Aquatic" Special Edition. I was just reading the e-mail I received about the sale and it has it listed for $17.99. I know I paid $16.91 after the 20% discount. Right now I just looked it up on the site and they have it priced at $22.48 and I'm certain it was $21.14 yesterday.

Luckily, I placed my order when I did. I'm not worried about it but that sucks how they were kinda sneaky like that. :whistle2:k Still a good price either way.

I've read from other forums (DVDtalk specifically) that they raised some of their prices on some movies before the sale, not too many though. They also raised all of their ADV films by 10% or so I heard.

Better never buy a video game system again. 5 years down the line, there will be a better one.

The only case where that would matter is with source material shot in HD. For basically all movies and the majority of available TV shows, 480i is all we need.

You know, I noticed something with the e-mail they sent me announcing the sale. In it, they had several sets pictured, but all of the prices showing were wrong (well, at least on the three I checked). The e-mail showed Seinfeld: Season 4 as $29.66; on the site it's actually $32.37. The e-mail showed Sopranos: Season 5 as $59.99, but it's actually $61.41. Chappelle's Show: season 2 was listed as $23.04, but is actually $25.79. Not huge differences, but still....if they're announcing "Hey, come buy these sets!", you'd think they'd list the correct prices. Weird.

By the way, the price on the Chappelle set has been $25.79 since it came out, so it wasn't raised just for the sale. I've had it in my wishlist since it released.
 
I've already dropped $200 this sale, but I'm still thinking about getting some more. One of which is the critierion set AKIRA KUROSAWA-FOUR SAMURAI CLASSICS---which consists of HIDDEN FORTRESS (1959), YOJIMBO (1961), SANJURO (1954), and THE SEVEN SAMURAI (1954)--- All 4 movies have outstanding reviews, but I was wondering if anybody has seen any of these movies and could let me know if the set is worth $60
