Dead - EB/GS $5 off any used DS game $14.99+ - Dead

ther4p1st

CAGiversary!
EDIT: DEAD

Just came in through the emails, or at least it would have if I posted this 3 hours ago.

EDIT: Coupon is valid only in-stores, and expires on the 19th of July. Coupon ends prematurely at "offer" before stating the date of expiration as seen in previous email-letter coupons, but this hasn't been too much of an issue. Coupon can also be acquired through signing up through your own or through your second email address. Stacking should be possible either way as aoko has stated that even by using an edge card first on Meteos (priced $14.99) the coupon was still acceptable for a whopping savings of $??.?? (I'm too lazy to do the maths).

Not bad...you only have to buy 1 game, and most decent titles are going to be $14.99 & up anyway.

Now if only I can find a store that didn't have DS cases thrown out by district managers that thought they take up too much space x-P

Notable games and the prices they'd be factoring in the coupon and Edge Card (let's hope they don't pull the same crap they did with the first 360 coupon):

After looking at the in stock inventory, I must say that I sorta hate my area. I may be able to grab some goodies every now and then, but there's absolutely CRAP for used DS games in my area. Not a single one of those games I've listed is actually within even six miles (except the first Phoenix Wright game) of me.

And before anyone asks this again every week we get a new coupon...

You can't use this online. In-store only!

Now I have to see what my local EB/GS's have that:

1) Are complete with case, manual and inserts.
2) Don't look like someone completely fucked up in their playing of the game.
3) Isn't something I already have.

Item #1 will be more of a stickler than anything else. At least this coupon is $5 off a single game, instead of $10 off 2 games. The "2 games" requirement was the issue with the last DS coupon for me.

As always, Tsukento, your lists rock the house. :applause:

So, can you use this online?

KEKEKEKEKEKE

Given the list in the OP, it'd almost be easier to list the ones not worth getting than the ones worth getting.

Note: DBZ:SSW2 is stupid fun. It ain't a really good game but it is a fun one. You'd know if you wanted it though, so don't dig for a reason to buy it where none exists.
Does the card count as an offer for the purposes of this deal? Technically it is more of a benefit
I sincerely hope that they'll allow stacking with the card and coupon.

If I could snag Hoshigami it might be worth it. I'd really like Etrian, but it isn't in stock near me.

Are you nuts? There's far too many garbage 3rd party titles, with crap licenses mixed in. :(

Yeah. I own the game. It's rather similar to that of the Super Butouden series on the Super Famicom. But it gets VEEEERY boring easily after you've played through single player for a bit.

My GS puts a damn barcode sticker on the side of the DS games. Not on the plastic of course but on the fucking DS sleeve. So I pretty much can't buy a used copy from them.
I sincerely hope that they'll allow stacking with the card and coupon.
give coupon 1st and after they put in the promo code say, ooopss! i forgot about my favorite edge card extra 10% off all used games and accessories! then smile

Uh, you don't have to do that. o_O Just hand them the coupon first, then the card. Or other way around. Doesn't matter what order as long as they don't give you the bullshit that the can't be stacked.

If yours are, that sucks. They've left the backing on the stickers so far, they just slide out.

It varies by store. Some will sticker the plastic case, some will sticker the insert.

I know when I went and bought The Red Star for PS2, that particular GS put their sticker on the insert. It came off without leaving or taking anything with it.

Just used this coupon today to pick up Simcity for $19.99 before tax. I might go back next week and pick up Brothers in Arms. Thanks OP for posting the coupon! This is a great coupon to use to get games that aren't really worth $29.99 new price. Saving $10, on average, is pretty sweet.

Oh, has anyone noticed that ever since the Gamedays sale has ended, there are more used copies of Phoenix Wright on the shelves? I noticed that the GS I went to has 4 copies out in the open, and I saw another like 8 copies sitting in the used DS drawer behind the counter.

Depends on the store. Even if they stick it on, the ones I've had come right off, nice and clean.

BTW, worked great with my edge card. Got Monopoly/Boggle/Yahtzee/Battleship DS complete for $18.xx incl tax!!!!

Wheee!!!!

Also WarioWare Touched.

What I wouldn't give to have a time machine and get all the used PW:AA games I could find now and sell them in the past when they were nearly impossible to come across. :p

Sor that matter take the time machine and buy all the Suikoden II's you can on the week they came out...lol.

Used it this afternoon at my local GS and they stacked the coupon with my Edge card without hesitating.

Snagged "Touch the Dead" for about $18.

Most reviews were very pretty negative, but I think it's still worth a try, the PS1 game wasnt that bad, and I really enjoy the RAP system (fairly unique) I hope the DS is at least as good as that.. and I've read they've fixed that "confrim your confrimation to the confrimation" problem.
Is Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth Remix worth buying?

Ha, beat me to it guys. Can't wait to use this coupon! =)
World's best thread. DS game deal with Luffy and Sanji posting. If Zoro showed up, I'd fall over in ecstasy.
metroid at that price is a steal.
The EB near me had it listed for $24.99, making it $17.99 after coupon/card. Not sure if the system at that store hasn't been updated or if the price in the list is wrong.
i cant believe this coupon got so much love and the gamecube 10$ off two games got crapped all over
That's because it's the other way around. DS's good games are mostly $14.99+. GameCube required you to buy TWO games and they had to be $14.99+. Most of the better games were under $14.99.

Site had it listed as being lower. Your store is just too damn lazy to update the tags.

Also, it appears GameStop pulled down nearly all of these games from their search lists on their site. Wtf? o_O;

The card and the coupon stacked. Thanks OP. Got myself a mint copy of Star Fox Command for 12.99 before tax.
Go figure. When I asked the sales clerk to check the price in the system, he said it was $24.99. Typical EB/GS bs.

I thought even though the tags aren't updated, the system is updated to reflect the newer price? I bought KOF2006 for $14.99, but the sticker still said $29.99.

Well...time to head to a few more GS's near me to find more games I want to add to my collection. And, I thought I'd not buy too many games this month...but then this coupon had to roll out. Kinda hard to pass up decent titles for $19.99, on average, if they are complete.

{I still wish that I could sign up for an edge card without the stupid subscription to gameinformer...but probably never gonna happen}

Thanks for the coupon(s) Ther4p1st! I was tossing them around like candy yesterday. I even picked up the edge card and broke even on it in the first day; scored the following at the prices listed after discounts(keep in mind I travelled to different stores; closest 2 miles - furtherst 42 miles away- total of 4 EB/GS stores visited):

Advance Wars: Dual Strike - 17.99 complete w/ inserts

WarioWare: Touched - 19.29 w/ orig case, but no instructions (damn  )

Etrian Odyssey - 17.49 complete w/ inserts

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 - 17.49 complete w/ inserts

New Super Mario Bros. - 21.99 w/ orig case + instructions

Brain Age - 11.19 w/ orig case + instructions

Meteos - 8.49 w/ generic GS case and no instructions (This didn't bother me nearly as much as Warioware not having the instructions)

Since I was in a neighboring town, I decided to visit their circuit city; boy am I jealous! Picked up some clearance games and a few movies/TV Series items that were on sale and then called it a night. It's too bad that the pricing of the (used at least) video games at EB/GS appears to be non-national, I was looking forward to scoring some of the games at a lower price, but overall I was quite pleased - Thanks again for publishing the coupon; combined with my edge card I saved over $51 on the listed used prices!

Further note most already know; but you get the biggest discount if you have the clerk scan your edge card first, then apply the $5.00 off coupon (only $.50 difference, but if you're the hardest of cheap asses, it'll bother you to know you could've saved more). The advance wars game could've been $.50 cheaper, but the poor lad had a terrible time with the coupon working in the system and I wasn't about to give him a hard time over $.50; cheapness can be yielded to show human compassion when appropriate (especially to friendly, helpful clerks - a true rarity nowadays) :bouncy:

One final note, question rather. How do you find the product ID number of the used games at GS/EB games? Do you have to call the store and ask for it? There were a couple more games I was interested in and I wanted to use the online checker as an ESTIMATE (was wrong twice yesterday for stores around me, hence the 42 mile road trip) for what a store might have. The posted links to the used games (provided in this thread) were vital for me to score these games; especially since EB/GS online text based search engine doesn't yield a return on most (if not all) of these used games. Rock on.

Yeah I was pissed erlier this week to see that in NYC everything is more... Advance wars DS is $24.99 instead of $17.99 like it is here in NJ. Beyond good and Evil for The GC was $14.99 instead of $6.99 (but I should count myself lucky to find it at all)

Around me, things are priced as the website is... at all 20+ stores within 10 miles.

20+ stores in your local area; damn! We got a 2nd one last year and I thought we were big stuff (for a smaller, not miniscule, town).

I wish I could have found a complete copy of meteos, I would've paid the extra $1.50 for it (though I would've saved that with the edge card, I'm a sucker for games that come with their original cases/instructions). It kills me at these eb/gs stores... You pay the same price for the game used, whether or not it comes with its original case and/or instructions. I may be an odd fella, but it seems to me that if the game package is incomplete, then the price should also be "incomplete" (lower).

I'm curious, do they trade in at the same value as well? That is, if they are missing the case and instructions will they fetch the same trade in amount? I've only traded stuff in 3 times (one time everything was sealed - 4 copies MTR) and everything I gave them was complete and the price traded in wasn't much lower than what I had paid.

I still get ass-sore when I buy a "new" game from them and it is "opened" and they go to the back and put the game and instructions in the case, but I'll save that griping for another day; I'm sure others have shared in my dissatisfaction with that practice.

EDIT: BTW, I have just now heard about Beyond Good and Evil (see post or two above this one); it seems like it is a more rare title for the gamecube (damnit), but can be scored for easily on the PS2, anyone prefer one console's version over the other (that has actually played both)? I'm partial to gamecube software in general, as my PS2 has pretty much been on permanent vacation since the original XBOX came out - currently hooked up in a guest room as a DVD player. I have a wii in the living room and use that for Gamecube software as well, but I don't want to lay out big cash (between $25-50 on amazon's marketplace for used copies, depending on condition) and I have the wii in the living area to play gamecube games on easily and comfortably.
