[DEAD] Lollipop Chainsaw Pre-Order $44.99 @ Amazon

No More Heroes is awesome and the girl is hot so that equals amazon preorder (I'm being honest at least). I don't quite understand Penny Arcade's policy against booth babes. Girls sell everything in this world. Movies, food, sports, clothing, etc., so why should games be different.

One of my girl best friends wants to go to the adult entertainment expo next year (or a similar type of convention), at least there will still be a place for booth babes there.

I preordered this at $59.99 with Amazon. Will my price drop to the $44.99 or will I have to cancel and reorder? I thought Amazon dropped prices automatically but my order is still showing $59.99.

You should get the pre-order price guarantee, though it might help to take a screen-cap in case it doesn't come through. They're pretty strict about adhering to it though, or have been for me. I pre-ordered some manga that came in this week, and got an automatic 3 cent pre-order price guarantee refund because the price had dropped 3 cents from the time i pre-ordered to launch.

3 CENTS. Love Amazon.

It's amazing how quick someone is to bash or love a game before it even hits shelves. I understand why some people complain about some of the comments on that regard.

That being said, have a seat. We need to be realistic here for a second. This game is CLEARLY marketed towards prepubescent boys, chronic masturbating teens, and adults at 30 living in their parent's basement. This is the reason a lot of people look down on video games. This is one of the reasons why more women aren't playing games.

In my 31 years of existence on this planet I've seen a lot evolve in video gaming. Franchisees like Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Madden have become household names. They are selling millions upon millions of copies now. This is no longer a niche industry. People who play games also have significant others (with a heartbeat), jobs, careers, exercise, aren't morbidly obese, and actually socialize outside the internet. That all being said, these types of games are the things that literally hold the industry back in a lot of ways.

Keep this in mind...I'm absolutely anti-censorship. I absolutely think developers should be able to create what they want, when they want, and how they want. The content of their game is their own. If the consoles wanted to start selling pornographic games in porn stores, I wouldn't have one bit of problem with it. Keep in mind though, it's games like this that have Jack Thompson's loyal followers going "See, I told you so".

Damn, and we use to think Night Trap on Sega CD was Super Risque! lol

P.S. If you think a pixelated woman in a video game is hot or sexy, please enjoy your life of internet porn and wash your hands at least before you go to get my fries.

Yes, we should probably all grow up and stick to murdering terrorists in our games. Stop playing games that maybe Jack Thompson wouldn't like, right? His are the standards that we should be using to guide our purchases?

Way to keep on rocking all those tired old gamer stereotypes though, that is super insightful.

You should write a book.

I hope you don't break your leg when you get down off your high horse.

I'm in my mid 30s, happily married, have a nice professional job, and love schlocky stuff like this. I enjoy Suda51's games and will support him. James Gunn is involved and if you've ever seen the movies "Slither" or "Super" you know what kinda of silliness you're in for with his script for the game. I'll support him too. Plus as mentioned, this is just pure schlock with some titilation thrown in.

All of those games you listed, the Battlefield Call of Modern Madden Warfare 48 that are released every year, I have absolutely no interest in them. Never bought one, never played one, and don't plan on it. Sure they rake in billions of dollars but just because they make a ton of cash it doesn't necessarily mean they're good.

And maybe Lollipop Chainsaw will suck. Who knows. But it's important to give small, niche titles attention and sales because having options is good and I don't think anybody wants to see the industry produce nothing but seasonal sequels every year.

I don't think it is. Gunn and Suda are just using sex to sell their game. Ya they probably will get some horny 13 year old to buy it, but if you watch the trailers it seems more like a nod at B-Movie horror flicks. Which seems like Gunns style since he did make, along with his brother, the hilarious PG Porn videos.

And another thin-

Ha ha fail, anyways i will definitely be ordering this at $45

How am I "rocking all those tired old gamer stereotypes"? I've even said above it's much more than a niche industry. It's just as big of a media as music, movies, and television in some ways. That being said, if you think those "stereotypical people" don't exist, you're wrong. I've worked in IT for 10 years now and they are still alive and well. Trust me. The people who've literally put their life on hold for their next WoW fix are still there.

It has nothing to do with growing up. It has nothing to do with appeasing Jack Thompson. It has to do with how you portray your product. You're trying to tell me those trailers are really getting somebody over the age of 18 excited about this game? I could see if you really like the developers, but watch them again. It's a completely "how crude can we get" approach. Very little gameplay shown and throw as many cliche and sexual innuendos as you can in it. How's that working out for the Postal franchise?

You're seemingly missing the point. The game could be this years Skyrim in terms of reviews and it still doesn't change what I'm saying.

That all being said, do I personally think this game will be any good? Probably not. Why? Because when you're showing very little substance and a lot of flash all the way up to a game's release it's almost like you're hiding something.

That's probably a reasonable conclusion to come to given the evidence that all of Grasshopper's other games have been good.

Around the price I was hoping Amazon would post. Pre-ordered it.

I'm hoping for a Bayonetta/Dead Rising 2 mixed game (the fun of killing zombies in DR2 + the sexiness, over the top action of Bayonetta).
It's amazing how quick someone is to bash or love a game before it even hits shelves. I understand why some people complain about some of the comments on that regard.
Past track records of game producers do matter. Its the same thing in music, movies and TV shows with producers. You know the line "Produced by the producer of 'Your Favorite Movie Here'? This happens with every piece of media ever and is not restricted to just games. You have a problem with people who either really love or really hate a given piece of work. Take it up with them.

Hint: They don't care about your opinion. And they won't stop loving/hating something before it is in their hands or they see it in their eyes either.

That being said, have a seat. We need to be realistic here for a second. This game is CLEARLY marketed towards prepubescent boys, chronic masturbating teens, and adults at 30 living in their parent's basement.

You missed zombie aficionados too. Either way, how its marketed shouldn't really matter.

This is the reason a lot of people look down on video games.

More on this later.

This is one of the reasons why more women aren't playing games.

Or that video games aren't really targeted to them as a majority. That could be it My girlfriend, of six years, has this same problem, so we end up playing games she liked, or would have liked, as a kid. Does that mean that they're marketed for her? No. Lego games aren't marketed for a 22yo female college student, but she still plays them and enjoys the hell out of them. The only core title she likes is Uncharted and she prefers to watch it.

In my 31 years of existence on this planet I've seen a lot evolve in video gaming. Franchisees like Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Madden have become household names. They are selling millions upon millions of copies now. This is no longer a niche industry.

Wha? But I thought people looked down on video games? How could this be? It's no longer a niche industry!

Seriously though, a lot of people look down on video games because they're a waste of time to them, not because of content. Its the same way that some parents do it with television/movies for their kids. They don't see the point or enrichment in it, so they'd prefer they do something productive with their time. Also, just because people look down at video games and their fan base doesn't mean we should go after changing their opinion. Why? Because everyone is entitled to one.

People who play games also have significant others (with a heartbeat), jobs, careers, exercise, aren't morbidly obese, and actually socialize outside the internet. That all being said, these types of games are the things that literally hold the industry back in a lot of ways.

I can check most of those except career (college student) and this game has my interest. Why? Suda, Gunn, Urine (Jimmy Urine from the electro-punk band MSI did the music). Also, I don't see how games like these hold the industry back if pornography doesn't hold the film making business back. Or if Skinemax doesn't hold the television industry back. Niche games for niche reasons. You don't enjoy it, fine. Go play whatever makes you happy and support your industry by buying games you enjoy new and on day 1. Support the industry with your wallet and I'll do it with mine. As long as we both do that, it should be fine for the future. Got a problem with something holding back the industry, go picket a used game store.

Keep this in mind...I'm absolutely anti-censorship. I absolutely think developers should be able to create what they want, when they want, and how they want. The content of their game is their own. This is the one contrary statement to all of the above. You may say you're anti-censorship here, but "holding back the industry" and all that other stuff you mentioned above would hint otherwise. It's cool that you're not though. I am too. I'm also pro-other people's taste and opinions and anti-dickhead. If you don't like the game, cool. If you do, cool. If you buy it, cool. If you don't, cool. I don't see a reason to trash other peoples opinions.

Or do I?

Wow, video games are serious business guys.

Advanced hit it right on the head, support the industry as you see fit. Don't like a game? Don't buy it. Don't go into a thread ABOUT it to bash it to try and sound somehow superior, that's just juvenile.

This game looks like mindless fun, and that's good enough for me. 29 year old, happily married, father of a beautiful 2 year old son me.

Thanks, just ordered.

Loved the No More Heroes games, loved Shadows of the Damned but I prefer redheads. Hopefully the game is still fun.

Hmm, my backlog is decent in size and I need to start dedicating more time to the job hunt, so I might have to pass and pick this one up cheaper later since I'm probably going to get The Last Story. But the price is pretty good, and I want to support Suda as well. Tough choice for me on this one.

Exactly why I'm sticking with GameStop for once in my life.

This game is a love letter to classic B-movie horror and nothing could make it more perfect than representing the undisputed king of said genre while playing. :bouncy:

Probably won't matter for a Suda game should run identical on both platforms. Look to Shadows of the Damned comparisons. Anyway canceling my TRU preorder lmao. ur right dudes, all hail violence and explosions!!! who the fuck needs hot chicks in games when I have a whole harem of them at my disposal TROLOLOLOL

I don't understand why some gamers need to get all high and mighty about sexual exploitation in games. Oh wait, yeah, I do, they think it'll help them get laid. Keep playing the nice guy, Captain Save-A-Ho.

Women who were interested in playing video games aren't going to see this and go fuck that, I'm done with video games and all gamers are perverts.

Seems this is another one of those games with retailer specific preorder bonuses and even console specific costumes. Looks like there's no way to get all the costumes on day 1 until some day when the publisher decides to do a complete costumes DLC bundles. Just hate this pattern. What happened to the old days when costumes come out naturally upon completing the objectives, like Dead or Alive Ultimate (one of the most costumes filled games) for example.

I think we need a Tom Leykis for gaming.

The intrusion of women's lib into video gaming is unfortunate. On the other hand, $44.99 is too much to pay for this game. If umbrage can get it down to $19.99, then I'm all for it. This could be a new tactic. Pretend it offends you, boycott it, game falls into the bargain bin due to poor sales, then pick it up for $9.99.

Of course, they might not make another one, haha.

"This is the reason a lot of people look down on video games".

"These types of games are the things that literally hold the industry back in a lot of ways".
:bs::bs::bs:

I definitely do not share your oblique point of view about this kind of video games...

I'm 34 years old and I've been playing video games since I was 8.
I don't live with my mom LOL... I'm happily married to a respectful, intelligent, awesome, beautiful, gorgeus, sexy woman which I love.
I exercise at 6am five times a week. I work every day and I love to travel.
I still hang out with my high school friends, college friends and (of course) my gamer (arcade, console, PC) friends (which are also married and work and yadda yadda yadda).
Since 2009 I'm in LOVE with my Ps3 console in which I religiouly spend around 15-20 hours a week gaming.
I have never played Battlefield or Madden, I enjoy CoD (but only in story mode) because for me, multiplayer shooters died with Counter Strike and Day of Defeat many years ago (thanks Valve). I can play 70+ hours of Demon's Souls and also have fun killing zombies in mindless action games like this one and of course I'm looking forward buying Lollipop Chainsaw.

What I'm saying is that this is just a matter of preferences in video game genres, so please, don't speak like you are the owner of the truth.

Thanks OP.

We need to be realistic here for a second. This game is CLEARLY marketed towards prepubescent boys, chronic masturbating teens, and adults at 30 living in their parent's basement.
You later go on to say that the industry has "evolved" and games like Call of Duty and Battlefield have become household names. Are these games not clearly marketed toward boys, masturbaters and adults living in their parent's basements? Are braindead and derivative military shooters not holding the industry back? Why would a game that has big breasted chicks be inherently worse for the industry than hoo-rah shooters on rails?

This is one of the reasons why more women aren't playing games.
Why should I care if women are playing anything but Angry Birds? But no, that is not the reason why more women aren't playing so-called "hardcore" games. The reason is that they are generally uninterested in these types of games.

That all being said, these types of games are the things that literally hold the industry back in a lot of ways.
Do gross-out flicks hold the movie industry back? Does the resurgence of campy grindhouse films hold the industry back? No. Everything that should be made gets made, from sperm-in-the-hair comedies to queer cinema. It's all there for the taking.

If the consoles wanted to start selling pornographic games in porn stores, I wouldn't have one bit of problem with it. Keep in mind though, it's games like this that have Jack Thompson's loyal followers going "See, I told you so".
Jack Thompson was disbarred and the consoles have zero AO-rated games.

Because once you get a professional degree, all your sick fetishes go out the window. Please, I'm sure my doctor is jacking it to inflation porn once he's done taking my appendix out. There are a lot of secrets being held out there. Sex tourism remains a hot industry, and it's not something basement-dwellers can afford. So I can only imagine it's those go-getters who are flying halfway across the globe to fuck Thai hookers and live out their sickest fantasies.

Why do people feel the need to defend themselves and explain to others that they are not a stereotypical gamer? No one gives a fuck and why are you givin that guy the time of day? Defending yourself validates the argument.

The official Twitter account stated none of the pre-order outfits will see a later DLC release. I find that strangely odd tho considering that is the standard nowadays and that Warner Bros. did it with Mortal Kombat. It's probably PR talk, but still... it's possible. If there's any of the pre-order outfits you generally really want, I'd suggest going with a pre-order just in case.
