[Dead] More random Overstockage - 2 Dolla Deals

Thats the way the mets deal. trade their future for failures. wish the mets had epstein and not dumbasses like duquette.
Its a worse trade than Bagwell for Larry Andersen or Schilling for Mike Boddicker. It didn't even help the Mets this year. And they're firing the manager again, like its his fault the team sucks. Bobby Valentine was the man, now he's the Man in Japan again.

That's one reason why you're a jack ass, because you assume things that are incorrect.
If someone buys 4 each of 20 or more things, its not a safe assumption that he's going to sell them? Maybe I should assume that he's going to go give them away at an orphanage. He specificly is not the problem, its a general problem when theres limited quantities, and people buy lots of them to ebay and kill the deal.

it was epstein because the GM of the mets is Jim Duquette. Dan Duquette's bro. I know it was phillips who accepted Vaughn. I feel bad mostly for Art Howe because he was just put in a bad situation. Blame the front office for the bogus deals. the only deal that was good was the hidalgo deal but that is still ok because they gave up wheeler.
Would it make you feel better if i sent you a few?
If I knew it was going to be this big of a deal... I wouldn't have even ordered them
You could make me feel better if you sent me Arc the Lad or Wild Arms.

Please?

I never got bent out of place about the Bagwell deal. I mean hindsight is 20/20 at the time he was a third basemen and we were deep at that position. Plus we really needed a reliever for the playoffs. it wasn't like he was a top prospect at the time either and if he stayed with us there are no guarantees he would have developed as well as he did in Houston

The Mets needed to trade away players for prospects and rebuild 2 years ago. Now they have mediocre players and big contracts and no prospects, no hope for the playoffs or the future. Sounds like a Duquette to me.

Thats my point, at the time of the Bagwell or Schilling deals, people weren't wondering what the hell they were doing, they weren't considered awful trades at the time like the Kazmir trade was. They signed Kaz Matsui and refused to trade Jose Reyes when they could have gotten a mint for him, then they trade Kazmir for nothing? Wow. Kazmir is the kind of player you never, ever, ever trade. I hope Pinella isn't too rough on him. Tampa Bay could be a serious contender in 2 years with their young talent.

I like Epstein because he has balls not many GMs would have pulled off the Nomar trade. Nomar in my opinion was damaged goods besides his heel problem I don't think his fore arm ever healed because he hasn't been the same since. Plus we had plenty of offense we needed to shore up the D and even though the 1B we got hasn't been hitting that bases laoded double play he turned a while back saved us a game. Plus I really like Orlando he plays with a lot of passion and saves a lot of runs with his glove and although he cant hit like Nomar he has decent pop in his bat

Without question the fastest moving thread in CAG, and if this goes through, a candidate for the most incredible deal in CAG history. I can't believe I missed this.

Oh well. I've gotten a ton of 5 dollar games from CC and BB this year, so I've made out pretty good. I know there are others who haven't. It's the way it goes, you win some, you lose some.

To those who got in I hope it goes through for you. If it is a big mistake, well then I didn't miss anything, but I wouldn't wish that. It would be petty and immature.

Good luck to all. Hope you get the games.

Their biggest problem is that they try to get guys when they are hot..and then when the trade is triggered the player they got in the deal suxs. Eg Benson and Zambrano...even alomar i can say is in the same league. I wonder what would the mets linup looked like if they did keep their prospects. i bet escobar would've had or atleast i hope a better career with the mets than the indians.

I hope they either cancel them today or end up letting them go out. The suspense is killing me! (Of course I guess I won't know if they are going out until people really get them in hand - I won't trust a 'shipped' e-mail, so the suspense will still be killing me...)

no email as of 7am est

i guess no news is good news, or they are going through the orders one by one...should some sort of email soon as i got to the deal sorta early

Geez I missed this deal completely (sorta like the CC one) but the games weren't on my "I really want it, gotta get it" but for $2.00 it's a steal.

when i go into my account from the overstock page is says the orders have been accepted. hopefully they come and used them to trade off and give them as gifts

I think someone from FatWallet copied cyberlain's post here and put it on their site. I don't think it was him directly. So he's off the hook there. But he did buy way too many copies of other things that went OOS. I guess that's just life.

I had it too, had Wario Ware in my cart then *poof* it was OOS. That's the game I wanted most. I guess I should be happy I even got anything though. Oh well, off to school.

Hey got a quick question. Did anyone get Nba live 2004, collen rally 3 the james bond game and there was a few more. These seemed to pop up around 945 central on my pc cause they wasnt there when i first put in my 2 orders. everythign was oos was just wondering if anyone got these

Nah man. The $5 deal was the best. This was nice thought because it was online. Gratz to all those that got in. I was busy watching MNF and when I checked the poage at half time it was already too late :(

What i hope is this is what happened. They got a major shipment in from stores that couldnt sell these games so they sent them all to overstock. Overstock had no use for them and decided to dump them on the market for 2,00 each. THe prices of the games are now back to normal cause the huge amount of games they got back from the stores are now gone so the prices are back to normal. HOpe that was it

You're so hopeful on this thread and so pessimistic on the playstation store thread.

I think someone just f-ed up. Don't forget, they had dvd boxsets for $2 too.

yea but got to remember pawn shops sell box sets for 18-20 bucks figure what they pay for them. They have very limited shelf space so maybe Just maybe overstock go major returns and had no place to store them. It would been nice if they did limit 1 on each item so more people could got in on the deal though. im REALLY hopeful on both sites, but the problem with the playstation one was people was misunderstanding what i was saying about the PB game. Man i really need to stop spending.

yeah, mine was accepted too at overstock...i dont know if that just means they accept that i made the order yet they can cancel at anytime, or if my order was accepted and its waiting to be shipped

55 dollars, 9 games, and 8 DVD's later, StealthySeal is back online looking for more in his computer clas at school....

stealthy heart 2 dollar games

There has to be a catch
That's what I'm thinking, Overstock has screwed me before...
I'm currently in the process of being screwed by them. I say avoid overstock... avoid it like the plague that it is.

CAG is too double edged. Saving money on games, but having to put up with assholes that horde games and then try to sell them to you in the trading forum for 10-20 bucks more than they paid for it.

It sucks having to think that, should these orders not get cancelled, there's a larger number of people who didn't get in on it, and a small number of people are going to cash in on that. And those people are going to go to the trade forum and fleece a people left and right, or go to eBay and make money there.

It sucks to think that, especially when I've done things for people like buying them games and sending them to them for the price they are being sold at, instead of gouging someone down the road.

CAG and the subsequent deals we hear about might smack of "right time right place" mentality, but that doesn't make up for the fact that people just get so damn greedy and then try to rip off the same people they supposedly want to help get the best deals. Don't go and buy a damn game for 5 bucks and then sell it for 10 and pretend that you're not being a dick in the entire ordeal.

I guess it's too much to expect out of people.
I just got a backordered email, so things aren't looking good so far.
If you all get backordered emails this will become the most acrimonious thread in CAG History.

i cant access hotmail from school... but i ordered my stuff right when i saw the topic, within 5 minute... i best get my stuff damnit!

they should of limited it to 1 or 2 games per person, i mean someone comes in here and says ha ha i got 4x of each DVD and im putting them on ebay shouldnt be here. SO far no backorder here. When i go into my account say processing (just like playstation.com) so got to wait and see.

Well, you can hope all you want, but they wouldnt sell stuff for that cheap to make space. 10,000$ watches dont exactly take up a lot of warehouse space. Neither do games. Hey maybe the stuff will go through, but it cetainly was an error. Honestly, do you think the people at Overstock would be stupid enough to sell stuff for $2.00 when it would sell just as quickly for $5.00? At $2.00 they could just as well throw the crap in the garbage to make space.

I put my money on that they get cancelled, since their site was being so fsck'd up about in-stock status. I'd like to be wrong, but we'll see soon enough.

Agreed. It's frustrating to say the least.

Amplitude is still listed as $2.00 but when you add it to your shopping cart, it's $31.

So you didn't get in on the deal - SHUT THE FRIGGIN HELL UP ABOUT IT AND STOP WHINING.

The worst part of CAG isn't people hording games - its having to read people's whiny bullshit comments after they missed out on a deal. TOO BAD FOR YOU. Deal with it.
