I played the game for about 30min and pretty much gave up on it until I read all the stuff you could do that I was unware of.
Same here. I think there is more to this game that meet's the eye, & I couldn't care less about it until I played the demo. Now I can't wait.

The link's not working for me for some reason, but I checked the review and yeah... definitely not making this wait any easier. I'm so glad that this game delivered.

How spoiling are the spoilers Sporadic? Are they game spoilers or demo spoilers?

I just went through again and had a blast. I think I am going to pick up the game at a store and then return the one I get from Overstock since I will probably be in school when it comes.

haven't finished the review, but this is a funny error:
Dead Rising’s imminent release got me thinking about this great industry, and it’s hard to believe that video games have been around for over thirty years now. Granted, the first round of electronic wizardry that is now common fare in millions of homes across the world wasn’t exactly the most mind blowing of experiences. Lights flashed, white square blobs moved around the screen, and manipulating those blobs passed for a good time back in the seventies (the abundance of acid and LSD probably didn’t hurt either).

O rly? Acid AND LSD? stfu n00b!

;)

Wow that was a pretty damn sweet demo.

Wasn't expecting it to be so cool, cuz some of the videos I've seen looked disappointing. Guess they fixed it

I'll definitely have to get it eventually
Why are you getting upset? It is repetitive. Just because this is repetitive doesn't mean Madden and NCAA aren't (though this to me is much more repetitve).

Only so many ways to kill a zombie over and over. Madden and NCAA have a lot more replayability also great online play. Have you even played MLB THe Show?
You must be a communist. Only a communist wouldn't like slaying zombies.
How spoiling are the spoilers Sporadic? Are they game spoilers or demo spoilers?
Not really spoiling at all.

It is only a few guesses based on the cutscenes you see in the demo.

Yet another thing found in the demo. This time, someone found a way to try out the Level Up system.

_____________________________________________________________

I've been at it for 2 days now, and finally leveled up. HUGE thanks to Phil showing me how to take pics that score in the thousands. I don't have a digital camera on me right now, but I will post pics of it later tonight, in about 3 hours. I didn't even have to use the 10k lego head bonus.

Anyway here's what's happening:

A box popped up, I'll transcribe it word for word

-Leveling Up-
Page 1
"PP (Prestige Points) are awarded for actions such as escorting survivors to safety or defeating zombies. When the PP Gauge becomes full, Frank Levels up."
Below this are 2 boxes showing a PP Gauge that is empty, and one that is about 1/2 full

-Leveling Up-
Page 2
"Attack^: Attack Power Increases
Speed^: Running speed increases
Life^: Maximum life increases
Stock^: Item stock increases
Throw^: Item throw distance increases
New Skill Mastered: New skill is learned"
Below are 2 pictures showing Frank learning a new skill.

After that it forced me to return to the game. I didn't get to do any of the things it said, I guess they didn't expect anyone to level up.

It's kinda tricky to do at first, but this is the jist of it.

You need these things:
First things first, drop your weapons, they take up space and aren't needed
Book that shows you a pictures potention, not 100% needed but I like to use it to gauge when there are the most outtakes.
Book that gives you +25% pp for each picture. Both of these are found in the bookstore to the left of you when you begin.
1 Snack - found in the flowers in front of the sandwich shop and movie theater
1 Pie - 1 on the counter in the sandwich shop, 3 in the cafe on the 2nd level
1 Zombait, combine the snacks and pie (credit for this to phil420 or whatever his name is)
2-3 severed arms, called hunks of meat- These are kind of annoying to find, just look for them while you are doing everything else
3 Cooking Oil, most important part, 3 found in the sandwich shop, and 1 in the cafe upstairs I think

You should have all of the stuff upstairs in the cafe by the blender. Pick up the 3 cooking oils, 2 hunks of meat(arms) and the zombait.Drink the zombait then pick up the 3rd arm, if you have it, not entirely needed. Leave the books there, you will be coming back. Now that your have the zombait on and all the stuff you need in your inventory, jump on to the orange platform where the katana is, don't pick it up. Pick a spot and throw both of the arms onto the 1st floor, the zombies will begin be drawn toward them, starting the carnage. Jump down and run over to where the arms are. Don't worry, almost none of the zombies will attack you. Throw the 3 bottles of cooking oil down around where the zombies are congrigating, this will cause them to slip repeatedly and rack up bloopers points in the pictures, or what ever they are called. Just keep in the immediate vacinity of the arms, this will draw all of the zombies toward you, then they will lose interest in you once the zombait has run out, then will be drawn toward the arms. IMPORTANT, DO NOT LEAVE IF THE ZOMBAIT IS STILL WORKING, this is counter productive and will draw zombies away from the hotspot.

Now to rack up the points, once the zombait wore off, make a get your a ss back to the cafe upstairs. Pick up the 2 book you dropped earlier, and jump out onto the katana awning again. If you did everything right, there will be at least 35-40 zombies all fighting over the meat and slipping. Go to the edge of the awning and zoom your camera in full zoom, take pictures as fast as the camera will let you. Once the camera is at about 10 pictures, it will take forever to reload, jump off of the left of the awning and go to the camera store that is just to the right of you as you started the game. Recharge your batteries, then get back to the spot and keep taking the pictures.

Be sure to do the 2 frying pan things, and the lego guy if you feel like it.

The farthest I have got so far is level 12 1/2, around 350,888 pp. Good luck

Or maybe he is some sort of zombie. I mean, if he isn't against them, he must be with them, right?

Wow, after reading a little bit of this, there is a LOT more to do than I realized. I palyed the demo briefly and I loved it. I didn't even realize that you can combine items and do others things...nice. I cannot wait.
where do I find the shopping cart.
i always find one by jill's sandwiches, and one upper level by the roaster

up stairs on the right side if you are walking the direction you started walk up the first set of stairs and it should be in the sports store to your right
i'm an idiot- where's the skateboard?
Don't worry I didn't even know there was a skateboard until I read it yesterday :)

Upstairs; sporting goods.
On one hand, I need more 360 games... On the other hand, $60 is a lot of money right now.
Bingo. $60 is still a lot to pay for a game... it does sound pretty good though and I can't wait to try it out tonight (I DL'ed it last night and then forgot about it and went to sleep).

Same problem deciding here also. It's easily $40 good, but I still can't decide if its $60 good. Also I get the strange feeling this will be one of those quicker price dropped games, like I can see a big discount on it once the holiday deluge of 360 titles start to hit in October/November.

I will at least be waiting a week to see if we get lucky and it ends up region free on Play-Asia for $40 shipped.

with all the trade in credit I have from the trade 3 get 10 deal, I had no choice but to submit. DoA4 is also the only non-arcade 360 game that I've gotten into so far, so I'm dying for a new game.

Got the Dead Rising shirt from GameCrazy. It's a GameCrazy exclusive, just the Dead Rising logo on a black shirt. Looks cool.. a lot better than the Chop Til You Drop shirt.

I'm deciding the same thing. I loved the demo but I still do not know if it's worth $60. Are there any deals on this game at all?? I know I will probably wind up picking it up so anything off the retail price would be nice.
I really hope it ships out and is delivered tomorrow, I don't wanna wait until Wednesday morning to pick it up.
Same here, though this usually happens with people on the East Coast. Sometimes you get lucky and the stores get new releases Tuesday afternoon.

yeah, I work there, so I picked up my shirt today, I was told that we would have all of our pre-orders in tomorrow, maybe not much more.

Ehh.. being told and actually having are two different things, GC's shipments are frequently delayed..

..but I preorded it, so no worries there.

I definetly love smashing zombies with the sledgehammer and the guitars. And the skateboard is fun too.

But I'm just wondering... in the toy store there are those I guess robot helmets you can wear and use as weapons as well as a model of said robot. I'm just curious who he is and what game he was in, I've seen pictures of him before and I've seen him in people's sigs. So yeah... who is he?

....Mega Man?

Considering I would have way more time to play it tues as opposed to wed, it would suck alot of ass if I have to wait till wed :bomb:

Who the hell pays $60 (Out of pocket) for any game? I own twelve 360 titles and the most I've payed is $48 for Saints Row. I bagged Dead Rising, Smackdown! Vs Raw 07 and even Gears of War SE (yes, the $70 version) for a little lmore than $120, almost $40 per game. Do a little work and research and you should have no problem never paying full price for any game ever, unless you're not a CAG

Back on topic, I've played the demo for at least four hours now (not straight) and I'm still extremly pyched. Easily the best demo out now.

Now that I'm actually makin' money, I have no problem dropping a couple extra bucks on it and helping Capcom out.

..of course, I get the "friends and family benefit" and get 10% off, so it's only 53.99 for me, not bad.
....Mega Man?
Honestly, I have no clue. He has that yellow head that looks like a LEGO character sort of. I suppose the body looks like Mega Man, but I seriously have no clue. His face is on someone's gamercard on page 15 if that helps?

Servbot, he's from the Mega Man games.

Well, I think what I'm gonna start doing is preordering and putting down 10 bucks here and there. It makes a lot of sense if its a game that you're really interested in...
Servbot, he's from the Mega Man games.
Ah alright, thanks... shows how much of a Mega Man fanboy I am...

yeah I nearly forgot about my discount I haven't used it lately.

Wow, I honestly expected Gamespot to give this a lower score than that.

Looks like I may have been wrong about this game, although I'll wait for some more feedback - but like I had said previously when I doubted the game, "I hope I'm wrong."

Still don't plan on buying it because the demo failed to impress me, but it may be a pickup for me when it gets to 30 bucks.

However, the Gamespot article DOES say "...the game does find itself leaning heavier on repetition than you'd probably like" which is a huge red flag to me.
Servbot, he's from the Mega Man games.
To be specific, Servbot is from the Mega Man Legends series (including the MisAdventures of Tron Bonne.) While not a singular character, the Servbots make up Tron Bonne's personal servants. He's a fan favorite character and has appeared in other Capcom games (notably as a playable character in Marvel vs Capcom 2).

An 8.4 for a game like this is fantastic. Apart from the save system, Alex Navarro really seemed to love the gameplay so it really seems like this game was successful.

Quick question, haven't seen it answered anywhere

Me and my brother are both really anticipating this game but only have 1 xbox360 between us. I've heard there is only 1 save slot per device, but that can't be correct, can it? They mean 1 save per profile.... right?

I'd hate for us to not be able to both play it when it comes out.

Okay, nevermind... you made me look stupid.

At the same time though, I think critics probably realized that they made a mistake with State of Emergency... I'm sure they're a lot tougher on games like this now since games like Beat Down, Final Fight Streetwise, and other 3D brawler types have gotten terrible reviews from critics.
