I think tomorrow I'm gonna play the hell out of this game. I picked it up yesterday, but by the time I got done running errands I was too damn tired to really open the plastic.
How do you kill the clown boss?
Wait until he tries to blow up a balloon, then shoot it out of his hands. Make sure to pop the balloon on him. Then while he's choking, shoot him in his stupid clown face.

Guess I better find a gun then.
Guess I better find a gun then.
There's a spawn of cop zombies near the boss. There's like 4 of them with guns.
So if you save in the bathroom and quit and you haven't died you start back in the bathroom? Or if you save in the security room you start there? My bottom line is there anyway to just save and not have to start the game over everytime?
Just save at the bathroom or where ever and when you die, LOAD, don't 'Save & Quit'.

Anyone know if once you complete the game start over, do you keep your stats? I know you do if you do the 'save and quit' thing when you die, but just curious about if you beat it. From the looks of it it's going to take at least 2 play throughs to get to level 50. I'm on the second night and am only at level 18 or so.
So, by using your defination, Madden 07 could be considered to be Survival Football because you're trying to survive an entire season.
That's pretty forced. There's no threat of "dying" or being forced to start over in a season of Madden. You could lose every game by 60 points and still finish the season.

You guys know there are more save spots then just the bathroom/monitor room right?

Like I found one in a fitness store. Just look at your map and it will show where the nearest save icon is.

Also, someone was saying earlier they were upset you didnt know how far a mission was. On the map screen just select the mission and push X ;)

Their so many mixed reviews about this game I keep hearing like good , but is it a game to buy , rent or a buy at like a discount?
so the mission is to kill Carlito, not to go after the professor first? also where can I get a gun at? before this starts I only have melee weapons on me.
Brad also gives you a gun...unless this is a different Carlito mission.
Brad also gives you a gun...unless this is a different Carlito mission.
Yea he is talking about a different one. Its a lot harder, and Carlito can take you out very quickly if you arn't careful.

I guess what I'm going to start doing is...

1.) Always carry 2 OJs/Creamers/wine bottles. Just 2 of something that will fully restore my health

2.) Always bring a SMG with me from the awning.

3.) Save after every little thing I do.
try boiling it in water

I don't think he's that stupid. Anybody who's
an anybody knows you're supposed to scrape off the top layer with a fork first.
 no I was serious. this what people used to do with xbox games that didn't work.

I kinda don't have the drive to play it, anymore - and I'm gonna harp on this once more - since I can't read a God damn thing. I'm missing a bunch of critical information and objectives.

The telephone calls are telephone calls -- not text messages. The calls should be audio, so you can be concerned with dodging zombies, instead of glaring at the fast moving text (which I can't read on standard definition).

I can't express how frustrated I am.

i got the same problem, if you got a LCD computer monitor you can hook it up to that and it works, but the text was pissing me off - reminded me of NBA Live 06 where i couldn't read the menus

Do you have your 360 hooked up with component cables?

Because I can definetly see this as being one of those games that would be impossible to see the text without high def.
WHAT THE fuck!!!????!?!?

I didn't think saving your stats and quiting would start you from the fucking begining!! :bomb: jesus fucking christ I am so pissed right now. There goes about 4 hours of the game.

fuck!

EDIT

After posting that I look at all the new messages about this same issue...damn why didn't I read before saving :/
I almost did the same thing, thank god the game explains what happens if you that.

My current beef is trying to save anyone, it's just too hard to lead anyone back all the way back to the security room, especially when the only way in (the elevator) is always infested with 20+ zombies. Also I killed the three convicts and not only did I not get the "kill one phychopath" achievment' (when I killed three) but it seems like they keep respawning every time I load up my game.
Also, someone was saying earlier they were upset you didnt know how far a mission was. On the map screen just select the mission and push X ;)
Oh shit, I'm going to try that. I'd feel stupid if it was that easy though. :whistle2:#

Technically they are radio calls, but I know what you mean. The fact that most conversations in this game are just text is annoying as shit. I guess they figure that since you can't do anything while listening to Otis, they might as well make it text. That's another thing that gets me. On the mission where you run into Kent, the other photographer, Otis kept calling me about something and whenever Kent would say something about how to take such and such kind of pictures, the game would act like I cut Otis off and he'd call back and then Kent would cut him off. Shit went on like that for a good 5 minutes until I just ran the fuck away from Kent. That shit is stupid.

Not to mention every survivor wants to tell you their life story before finally coming to the fucking security room. I don't give a shit if you want to die in an antique store or if your little girl got eaten by zombies, shut the fuck up and let's go already.

After playing Dead Rising extensively, I would say that an 8.4 is a little generous. The game itself is good, the presentation and all that is pretty great, but it's the little things that make the basis for a good game, the mechanics, that are really kind of iffy.

Also thank Christ, I finally got rid of those stupid raincoat pricks. fuck you and your stupid cult!

filled out the survey...bitched about the text size, praised the save system.

I don't even answer the damn radio anymore. All he says is there are survivors over there. So I am trying to tone that ringing out and ignore it.
filled out the survey...bitched about the text size, praised the save system.
wtf for?

i dont think the damn game would be any easier if you could just pause the game and save. however it would be more fun.

I like the save system. If you're in the middle of a mall infested with zombies you can't just stop anywhere and save. You need to find a safe point to save at.

Im on case 4 and am enjoying the main story. I hope the infinate mode lets you save the other survivors and kill the other psychos. My complaint about the save is not saveing in bath/security rooms but that the "save progress and quit" when you die. I wouldnt be surprised if everyone that plays the game selected that at least once. People having the convict hummer respawn need to destroy the hummer once they are dead. I killed them and went inside but didnt destroy the ride, upon entering the courtyard they had respawned. Second time, I drove the hummer around untill it stopped working. The cultist are quite easy to kill with firearms. Anyone else think this is going to tie into RE4?

I was thinking carlito looked just like Luis dude from RE4, But I wasn't gonna say anything until I finished the game to see what happens with him.

I just bumped into Kent by mistake, and he freaked out and shot me. So i beat him to death. He was annoying anyway...

My game fucked me over. I saved thinking I had ended a case file but every time i talked to Jessie this happens:

1) Jessica thanks me for completing the task
2) the case is added to my casebook. like when you complete any section of a case
3) I am told that the next case will begin a 11am on Sept 20.
4) The Sept 20, 11am case is marked as expired. (even though its not 11am yet)

the game says that the truth has vanished into the darkness and was lost forever, or something to that effect and asks me if I want to reload (which is pointless as the same stuff keeps happening ), save and quit (to restart the game), or keep playing in spite of the end of the case files.

The only other time I failed a case file I opted to keep playin, just to see what would happen. Well, not much happened. Otis stopped calling and there were no more missions or anything story driven. I just wandered around for half an hour killing things. This time, however, when i chose to keep playing in spite of failling the case, Otis kept calling me with scoops and the other smaller storylines opened up.
Some weird bug I guess.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I decided to restart the game. It was alot faster going this time so I caught up with myself in about one hour and a half. I even managed to save more people.

Man I'm going to get the crappy ending for everyone i don't save. Finally got to the 2 guys barricaded, and one flipped and shot me, so had to kill him. Then escort the other guy through the jeep hell, get to the warehouse door and he just stands there and gets killed. great game though :)

maybe ill just hang out in the office till day break

So, I miss a jump and get a free fall achievement. go figure.

it would be a hell of a lot easier and not nearly as fun. there's so much to do...it's a pretty deep and fun game. Real survival horror, if ya wanna call it that.

I totally suck at this game. I need to find more weapons. That spanish fellow was a bitch. I also had no guns of any kind when I got to the three rednecks in the truck.

Is there any way to rescue the first two barricaded guys without the one trying to beat me to death, and then consequently me having to fill him with bullet holes.
Is there any way to rescue the first two barricaded guys without the one trying to beat me to death, and then consequently me having to fill him with bullet holes.
Same thing happened to me. I assumed he was just pissed i kicked down his barricade.

Anyone beat that damn clown yet?

Yeah, same thing happened with me and that guy. I had to beat him to death with his own shoes.

I just got to case 7-2 and this mission is a pain in the ass. fucking Carlito is the biggest gapping asshole in the world. I can only hope his death is long, painful and gruesome. Not to mention the fucking waypoint arrow is for shit when you've got multiple objectives...

Ok I played again today and had the same problem: where the hell do I save?

My character is now Level 11 and I have to keep restarting all the way back to Day 1. I have saved on a couch in the survivor drop off point, and where the "S" is inside of the fitness gym. What am I doing wrong?

nothing, that's how the game works.

you level up as you play, each time you play it goes faster and it's easier since you're levelled up.

Thats what I am beginning to think. The first time I died and it started over I freaked out, then I figured hey I now can skip all the cut scenes and I can do a bunch more stuff so the game will just get easier. It's almost like they made it an arcade game where you aren't really meant to save, quit and come back later.

exactly. as more people realize this, the more they'll enjoy the game ;)

But, you can save, quit and come back later. Just don't "Save Stats & Quit" when you die and you can load the last place you actually saved in the game.

The guys in the barricade in the shoe store, just beat up the one with the bat, don't kill him. After you beat him up enough he'll join you.

ohhh. I was doing that, until I got a kill shot with the barbell. oops.

Now im getting killed by Carlito, on the 6am, day 2 mission

Best quote of this whole thread.

I know but with the option to save stats and start over, it gives it something new. I like it because that means it has repllay value besides just when you unlock unlimited mode or whatever its called. I can go back through the game again as a level 42 or 86 and just stomp people.

Is there anything I can do to prevent my ass getting handed to me everytime I open up the elevator and there are 30 zombies there?
