I've never been more flat out fucking annoyed with a game. I can't read the text because I don't have an hdtv, I really don't give a shit about the fucking fatass woman with the huge glasses, I actually stun gunned her ass until she died, the fucking phone/walkie talkie that rings over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, even if you answer it.

I can't do this annoying ass story mode. I'm going to hang on to it for now in hopes that there's a code that unlocks the unlimited mode. I killed all the storyline people and chose to continue to play and I ran around the mall. Freaked me out when the lights went out at night. The game's great when trying to survive, but when it's like

JANE SMITH IS DEAD! over 90% of the screen for like five seconds.. ugh. I don't care about Jane Smith, I don't care that she died, get that fucking text off the screen! I almost died like four times because of it.
I like how the text that shouldn't be big, is huge.

Makes me want to headbutt the television screen.
I'd also suggest a strong melee weapon for Carlito. If you run out of ammo by chance, you can run up to him (make sure to zigzag as to avoid his shots) and whack him.
I agree with this as well. I finally beat Carlito (Day 2) an hour or so ago. Zig Zagging your run towards him does work. Just avoid his grenades and keep running towards him in a zig zag motion. As for a strong melee weapon. If you take the alternate way to the warehouse, you can find a SLEDGEHAMMER on top of one of the high shelves. I used this to beat the crap out of Carlito. The "Hold X" strong move with that weapon does wonders against Carlito.

I just beat the supermarket/medicine mission. Did the supermarket guy creep anyone else out? That guy scared me. It was however nice to beat him with only the handgun I took from a zombie cop, and a nailgun I found along the way. I went behind the double doors leading towards the Pharmacy backway. There I only opened one of the doors and hid behind the other while the psycho just kept shooting. When he would holster his gun, I just popped out and put a couple bullets (then nails) in him.

I have to say it was tense finishing up that mission. I got there just in time with just seconds to spare.

Definitely going to play more after work tomorrow morning.

Ok Im not sure if i'm playing this game right. They keep calling me on a walkie talkie. They tell me surviors are located here and there (astleast thats what I think it says I cant read the screen!). Now is there any other ways I can take them to the Security room or do I have to go all the way back towards the werehouse?

Also, Going back to the surviors part. These are optional correct? How do I start the real Missions like the Cases and shit. Someone help me please. Thanks.
lol, Unlimited/Infinity mode or whatever sucks. Don't even bother with it.
Why does unlimited/infinity mode suck?

Uhh.. anybody else have this problem. I just beat the supermarket guy, got the medicine, went to the park and took a few potshots at the convicts and ran inside the mall. The mall level started loading... and is still loading 5 minutes later and counting. I'm going to check the disc as soon as I post this, hopefully it isn't busted...

Check if the little circle around the globe on the loading image is spinning, if its not it froze, its been happening to me alot with this game

Shit really? I'm about to head out to EB to pick this up even though yesterday I said I was going to wait for a price drop. The fall releases are coming soon (mainly Zelda, Okami and Gears of War) and I'm not really playing anything "new" right now so if I don't play this now I might never...

It was still spinning, so I don't think it froze totally. I just checked this disc and it's fine. Not sure what exactly happened there.

There's a never-ending loading glitch.. I haven't had it happen but i've heard one other person mention it.

Also, Javeryh, you're annoying as fuck. You think you'll get a game, then you say you will wait for a sale, then someone complains (and by the way, at least one person has a problem with any game that's released, so you flipping out is rather weird) and you're always like "oh shit, I was just about to leave to go get it, it freezes for you? fuck that i'm not getting that shit i'm waiting for a price drop!"

Just shut the fuck up and buy it already, you'll do the same thing that you do with every game.. you'll buy it then bitch about how you have to work so much and you don't have time to play it.

Playing through it this morning, it's a LOT more fun than it was yesterday. I found the psycho clown. Fun fight.. also found the hardware store. It's my new favorite store. Glass panels, lawnmowers, saw blades, chainsaws, sledgehammers, hedge clippers, the corkscrew jackhammer thing (he impales a zombie and the zombie spins around really fast, letting you walk through crowds easily).. i'll never think of Home Depot the same again.

I just wish they'd release a font size patch for those of us without hdtv.

Though I find it ironic that they're having the Dead Rising survey where the winner gets an hdtv. I found some hdtv's in the mall.. threw 'em at zombies.

wow. cranky.

I'd cut javery some slack. He is a lawyer with (I believe two) kids and a wife. So unlike most of his, his days can't be filled with non stop gaming outside of a job

Anyone feel bad for the hatchet man when...

He died? He was just a normal guy ('Nam vet no less) who snapped when his grand daughter died :/ Atleast Frank had the respect to close his eyes.

if hes a lawyer, why the hell is he on this forum? he should be loaded and not be cheap, unless he's a jew.
if hes a lawyer, why the hell is he on this forum? he should be loaded and not be cheap, unless he's a jew.
I don't know why I laughed, but I did.

I've played this game for a few hours last night, and I'm kinda mixed on it. As others said, the same system sucks, and the font is sometimes very hard to read. But I can never get tired of killing zombies. Running into a music store, grabbing a stack of CD's, and going crazy with them makes me wish I could do that in real life at work.

Is it possible to do every single mission in the game and still have enough time left over to reach the helicopter? I'd like to take my time with this game and explore everything it has to offer, without having to replay it over again. Or is one of those games where you simply try to do as much as you can within 72 hours, before it ends?
fuck that stupid clown. I want to murder his face in. How the hell do I beat Bozo the Cheap Ass Ass-Clown?
SMG works best. Hell SMG works best for every character.

Brilliant.
I think he deserves a great big STFU N00B! Don't you javery?
heh, I think his statement speaks volumes already. It's funny on so many levels.

WHAT THE fuck!!!????!!?

Spoilers for case 4-2 I guess

I beat Isabella with enough time and the case just expires!! This is really pissing me off, I know I have enough time left, I can see there's some red. Anyone run into this?
SMG works best. Hell SMG works best for every character.
Where exactly is this often refered to SMG? :whistle2:k

Well I just found the answer to my question by looking on Gamefaqs. Seems there is a glitch where the game screws you over by saying you have enough time, even though you don't

GREEAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTT so I'll be starting over again, for the second fucking time.

I haven't been able to do / read any cases, so I have to ask: what are cases, anyway?

Also, I have the raincoat cultists all over... how do I fight the leader, or whatever, so they go away?

Cases are the main story. If you beat them all and make it to the helicopter in time you get the "true ending"

I need your guys opinions though. Since I'm already on the third day and have run into this glitch where I can't keep solving the cases, do you think I should just keep playing for the last day doing sidequests/having fun with zombies? Or just start all over again?

He's in theater 4 in the Cinema. I recommend bringing a katana.

After you kill the leader, the cultists disappear...after you leave the Cinema area. They'll start pouring in after the boss fight.

Haha, holy shit dude, just return the damn game. You have the worst luck in the world I think ;)

just finish the game if your already on the 3rd day. Go for the 10,000 kills achievement.

Honestly I think the one thing I really dislike about this game is the constant respawning of everything. I can't count how many times I've killed off those stupid convicts in the jeep and they continue to come back evrytime. I'd also like to be able to leave a weapon some place and pick it up later, at the very least this should be posisble in the safe room.

Hah well I guess I'll just keep playing. I really wanted to solve all the cases my first time through, but atleast this will give me time to kill loads of zombies, save people and nab some more achievements.

Psh why stop there, I'll shoot for the 54,000 one ;)

And duo, to stop the convicts from spawning, destroy the jeep

Here's a tip for everyone who seems to have a problem with the Convicts respawning. Make sure you save the security guard in Wonderland Plaza (Should be pretty early in the game, I believe his name is Greg). Anyway, he'll show you a bathroom to bathroom shortcut from Wonderland Plaza to Paradise Plaze. Considering how close North Plaza is to Wonderland, this should work wonders for anyone having problems with the convicts. Makes saving people much, much easier.

Also, for people having problems with the zombie filled elevator, there are a few things you can do.

-Grab the Metal Shelfing and just start swinging away
- Make sure to hold onto a Queen (you can often find one in the warehouse) and then just aim with R and toss it in the middle
- Run in and press B as fast as you can. The zombies don't matter, they won't be there when you get to the top.

Well the only impossible thing would be saving people. I obviously can keep killing zombies and getting achievements.

Can anyone confirm if you ignore the cases that you can still save survivors?

Decided to finally fire up my copy. The mother fucking thing FROZE 45 secs into the intro movie! I had to turn my system on and off from the console. I just now tried it again. And it seems to be working fine. Just now its going to taking shots before you land. I swear to god, if this thing is gonna fuck up, I'm gonna really god damn pissed off...
Hmmm I say just exchange the game asap and try another one.
Believe me I am! I've had this game on preorder since mid April. And it pises me off that the ONE game I've looked forward to the most is doing this. I swear, I didn't really think about drinking tonight, but fuck it I think I am now...
Alot of glitches for a game that seems to be amazing. Usually games that are good just don't have the problems that shitty games have.
See the problem in my case is they give you a ton of time to do this mission. Well, I went and did like 4 side missions, and went into this case with 30 game minutes left. However, if the game says you have time left, even if its 5 game minutes, it should still let you continue.

Ah well, Im going to focus on scoop now. I'll blast through the cases sometime later.

Another minor complaint I have is that I'm not given enough time to know that a weapon is about break. So while I'm spamming the X button in a crowd of zombies, my weapon breaks, I eat a pizza at full health, and then get bit by a zombie. It's a small complaint but still very frustrating.
