Fire Ax action

In game footage from the E3 show floor - Cash Register, Toy Lightsaber and Hedgeclippers

Horrible video with mostly Lost Planet footage but does show off Megaman blaster (I guess shooting tennis balls) at the end.

Little bit of plate action

 As a huge George Romero/zombie fan this game has to be my most anticipated game of the year.

I already have my Zombi, Dawn Of The Dead (Remake), Day Of The Dead and Shawn Of The Dead soundtracks ready and waiting on my Xbox HDD.

August 29th can not come soon enough.

I've been anticipating it, too, but man.. he kept swinging and trying to knock stuff over and nothing would fall.. very little interactiveness.. couldn't break the store window.. after seeing this and hearing how short the story is.. I can't help but feel like this will be another State of Emergency :(

I agree, it was disappointing to see that the guy couldn't even break the store window with that TV, but oh well I'm sure I'll enjoy the game regardless. also did anyone else think those hedgeclippers looked fucking huge?

I hope not.

This and Crackdown would be the two games that would seriously make me consider a 360... I thought the game was going to have a shitload of interactivity?

I tried to play it but everytime I stopped by Capcom, someone was playing all the available Dead Rising demos. What was really weird is that I didnt see anyone killing zombies or whacking them with weapons. I just saw people using the camera and taking pictures of people and zombies which looked really boring.

I doubt it will be much like State of Emergency... simply because State of Emergency wasn't a.) fun, b.) good and c.) had absolutely no reply value or no incentive to even play through it once.

Dead Rising seems to be heavy on the replayability factor, with the multiple endings and different choices you can make throughout the game... not to mention the thousands of ways to take out a zombie.

I agree - I might have to wait on this now - the idea is awesome but a game like this needs to have high interactivity...

it was almost pathetic with the guy just swinging at the glass and shelves and it going through them, they could at least make a clang noise like it hit it or something

where's the zombie poodle :D
and why does this game remind me of Blue Stinger? If it's somewhat like that game, I'll be getting it when I finally get a 360

In the new OXM it says Dead Rising has no multiplayer support. Is this true? If so I'm waiting for the bargin bin on this sucker.

Yes this was announced a while back. I'm debating myself because of this and the $60 tag. If I can get it cheaper I'm in otherwise I'll probobly just wait for Saint's Row.

Guess I just don't understand. Not having a deathmatch or competitive mode is understandable. The game doesn't seem to lend itself to that format, but for the life of me I can't understand how this game doesn't have online co-op modes.

I imagine that the lag would be unbearable.

You have to remember that this is a sandbox (well within a mall) game with thousands of NPCs on the screen at once.

This is looking like a disappointment more and more as time goes along. Fortunately it's been delayed often enough that better games aren't that far off by the time this one actually comes out.

Sporadic, Your probably right it might turn into a lagfest. Something like a grinder mode with limited amounts of enemies coming at you and a buddy over time would have been cool. To do nothing just lazy.

KaneRobot, I think it will still be fun, but either Gamefly or around $25 worth of fun. Saints Row will supposedly be out shorlty after and I'm leaning towards making that an actual purchase.

I watched the clip on the 1up show and it looked entertaining, but there comparison to State of Emergency was what worried me (I was thinking the same thing).

It's definitely going on the Gamefly q. Whether or not I buy it, well, we'll see.

Pretty good preview is up over at Gamespot.
The mode of play available in the Dead Rising demo will last for a total of 72 in-game hours in the finished version, but other, unlockable gameplay modes will let you hang out in the Willamette Parkview Mall indefinitely.
I love you Capcom.

Now just give me the ability to pie zombies ala Dawn Of The Dead and this will be the greatest game ever created.

They showcased the game on Gamespot's On the Spot show... it looks really fun. The mall is supposedly absolutely huge as well which is good. This game could go either way though... I'm hoping it ends up being really good, but it could also end up being like Urban Reign or Final Fight: Streetwise...

Ok, this is worth a bump over that other thread.

:applause: Ok, which CAGer works for Capcom and answered my prayers?

This game is perfect now :bouncy:

*EDIT* Besides the fact that you can kill a zombie without a headshot. That's actually pretty shitty.

Just read that article, and it gave me more interest in playing Dead Rising. It sounds like the Achievements are pretty fun to try and get, too.

This may be the game that pushes me into an Xbox 360 purchase... lets hope Capcom dosen't drop the ball. I've been following this game since it was announced.

It's actually totally inverse to what you said for me... The only games warranting me getting a 360 is this game and DoAX2.... other thant hat I could care less.

As if I needed another reason to get this game.. Mega Man~! I've aleady preordered this shit, it's exactly 30 days away!

Unless it gets pushed back again. Which it probably will.

Those new pics from Xboxyde that Sporadic posted look REALLY good. Megaman? fuck yea! I just cant believe the detail they put into the human characters...this game has come a long way since I first saw pics of it.

I'm still surprised at how much I didn't care about the game when it was first announced, but as progress grew on the title, so did my interest. It went from a mediocre idea to something pretty good.
awsome. thx for the detail I missed.
No problem.

Overview of the first video:

There are now indicators saying what you can pick up. Windows break now. Footage of the skateboard in use. You crash when slam into a zombie and they haven't put in any effect when you go down stairs yet

Beyond that nothing too new besides new areas of the mall shown and the main character putting on kids clothes. :)

well, at least the interactivity issues that people were complaining about have been adressed :)
I never noticed that they kept a kill count until now. Pretty cool.
one of the acheivements is "kill 1000 zombies with your bare hands" or something along those lines, as well as other zombie body count acheivements

That the main reason why I pointed it out.

Video 2 takes place outdoors. You can see hundreds of zombies and the main character start chopping up zombies with hedge clippers.
