Last time they had the deal after 25% off, it was around $85. Seems like a good deal to me. Roughly around $11 each movie. Should i wait for the 3D bluray release? LOL
I don't buy from Deep Discount anymore, don't trust em or their costumer support. Nice find though.
Why? What was happened? I know I ordered something from there before, but I was able to cancel it so I don't have a problem with them at all.

Use the GAMER25 coupon instead of the one listed on the page, as Cheapy gets referral money for the purchase if you use the GAMER25 coupon. And it does work to knock the price down to $65.04.

I'd also recommend people start contacting Amazon via the "Tell us about a lower price" link on the product page, if you have an Amazon pre-order, as they might match the price with it being DD:

Absolutely Shrike, I apologize for not listing it before as I wasn't aware. Will gladly give Cheapy the referral dollars :)

I wasn't sure if all of the coupons were still alive with the change of the end date of the promotion. The GAMER25 coupon seems to work, so it's good to help Cheapy get money to keep CAG running.

I just tried doing this, and when I add the movie to the cart... it appears to be there for maybe 3 seconds. But whether or not I apply the coupon code, if I check the cart a few moments later... the Blu-Ray is gone from the cart and I have to add it again to try and order. It's SO wierd...

Anyone receive their confirmation email yet? I placed my order earlier and still haven't received it.... Never mind, they took the funds out of my account so I should receive that email later on today.

IE 9 seemed to be my problem. Switched to Safari and went through first try, where compatibility mode didn't help in 9. Thanks OP!

Submitted to Amazon in hopes of a price match. Not worth it for me to try DD again as the last two times I gave them a shot, the items I ordered sat in pending status for months with no contact aside from anything I instigated.
I used to use them regularly 4 or 5 years ago, but they have really gone downhill IMO.

So basically if enough people report the cheaper price to amazon, then they will lower the pre-order price more and tell everyone who pre-ordered it OR will they just give the new price to everyone who told them?

I think I'm going to take my chances here. $65 seems like a good deal for all 6 movies plus the bonus stuff and I definitely plan on getting the set. I don't even care about having it on release day as I likely wouldn't have time to watch them right away so even if DD delays the shipping or whatever it probably won't bother me that much.

You're telling Amazon about a lower price, and it's not tied to a specific person. They will review the competitor's price, and if they decide to lower the price, they will. It doesn't always work, though it's worth the time spent to do so. They've matched DD pricing in the past, though it's doesn't always happen.

Hopefully Amazon adjusts....I suppose I should sell my DVD sets. Curious when 3D bluray will ever hit....probably not for many many years
Also, when do they charge your card? When it ships or do they charge you now?
Like Amazon, DeepDiscount does not charge you until the item ships.
I placed an order with DD even though I already had Amazon's Gold Box with this set. I'll wait to see who has the lower price days before release and cancel the other.

For everyone holding out for 3D Blurays, I believe Episode 1 is the only one confirmed at this point to be presented in 3D. You may want to do some research because I seem to remember that they wanted to start with the first episode. Depending on it's reception, then do Episode 2, and 3 if that does well then ending there with no intentions of bringing 4-6 to 3D.
But I could be remembering that all wrong.

It's actually out there now, but I certainly would not worry about it -- 3-D box-office grosses have been markedly down this summer, Real 3D's stock price has plummeted and analysts have finally realized they have totally overdone it in terms of making every movie a 3-D release. In terms of home sales, that market may never materialize until they figure out a way to do it without glasses.

You can read more about 3-D's declining fortunes and how it ties into the home HDTV market here:

Looks like a good deal if you need it at launch.

I need LotR at launch, not the non-original cut Star Wars movies. I'll wait for the original cuts to come out on bluray. I can't stand seeing Hayden Christensen at the end of Return of the Jedi...

So never then?

I meant Star Wars 3D (not 3D in general....I already have a 3D TV)

I want this, but not for Amazon's price. Getting it here, my fear is that it will be pending for 6 months after release. I know I can cancel it, but still, I shouldn't have to. For an extra warning to people, my experience with DD even BEFORE they got shitty with the pending order crap is that pre-orders for new releases always took significantly longer than in-stock items to ship out. Pre-orders from buy.com used to arrive the weekend before release, Amazon, anywhere from the day before, or the day of, but DD....1-2 weeks after release. That's when they had a much better reputation as well. I sent Amazon the link and I'll wait and see for now.

Well there is already talk about releasing one a year..however if TPM does not meet expectations, they might not do another one. So the first release is a trial. Still boggles the mind as to why Lucas wants to convert the movies to 3d...unless he's under pressure from TCF or there is some crazy behind the scenes deal between them ..
I smell incoming cancellations!
I'm not so sure...it had to have been manually enabled to be a part of the sale in the first place...and so far so good on the cancellation front. We'll see :)

I had a bunch of stuff in my cart, left the room, and when I came back like half of them had the price jacked up. That sucks but I'll comfort myself with the thought that all those items probably would have been canceled anyway. Dammit DD, be good again :whistle2:(.
yea the price went back up. good thing i got it in earlier
Same here man. We'll see what happens. I was definitely charged though.
Reliable seller? I'm halfway to jumping on this already.
Deep Discount and DVD Planet are the same company
Reliable seller? I'm halfway to jumping on this already.
DVDPlanet.com = DeepDiscount.com, in case you didn't know.

Thanks to everyone who pointed out DVDplanet. They seem to have maintained DD's pre-hike prices that I missed out on earlier in the day. Just placed an order. Crossing my fingers!
I was really looking forward to a price match : /
That would've been ideal if you missed out on the deal earlier in the day.

Just checked my bank account and the charge from deep discount is no longer there...I think they canceled the order... I just emailed them so I'll let you know what happens.
