(DEAD) Zero escape w/ watch back in stock on amazon

Did they fix that game ending bug for the 3DS version?

I'd prefer to get that one to keep the series together, but I have no real qualms in getting the Vita version if anything.

They did not
Hmmm, so is this the direct link since it doesn't come up on the Amazon page? Site looks weird to me.
Looks like mobile. Added to cart then went to amazon.com to make sure. Shows it in cart when I did that.

Yes. It's a mobile link I kept track of. You can thank me while I make Cheapy money.

Any thoughts on which version to buy? Does the dual screen/stylus/stereoscopic help for the 3DS version?

Does the back touchscreen/better hardware/analog sticks help the Vita version?

I heard the vita version is better anyway. Go with that :)

This was posted by another user, should help:
The 3DS version of this is much worse than the Vita. I enjoy the 3DS library much more than the Vita's but there is no excuse for getting the 3DS version of this game over the Vita if you have the option.

3DS
+ stylus controls are excellent
+ can view menu/notes on bottom screen at the same time as viewing the top screen

- a very common game breaking glitch that corrupts your save file
- only 1 save slot so the glitch really hurts when it happens
- compressed audio (very noticeable with the voices)
- framerate suffers when moving around rooms too fast
- must view unskippable credits scene 14 times before getting to the true end
- one ink color for the notes option
- intrusive scan line filter on the bottom screen, which is the one you will be looking at most of the time while in puzzle sections

Vita
+ high resolution visuals
+ higher quality audio
+ 3 ink colors for the notepad
+ 3 save slots
+ smooth framerate always
+ can skip credits scene after viewing it for the first time
+ large, unobstructed screen (no scan lines) to interact with during all parts of the game

- default finger touch controls are worse than using a stylus on the 3DS (can be remedied by buying a $2 capacitive stylus)
- cannot view menu at the same time as the whole screen

It was a problem in the Japanese version which came out over a year ago as well and was never patched. Aksys has been made aware of the situation but has been silent for over a month.
Even if the save bug were fixed for the 3DS version (which it hasn't been), the Vita version would still be superior.

Thanks for posting this! Glad to hear that there are more watches available to those who missed out. I might just buy the Vita version just to support the company.

*Insert Fry holding money from Futurama gif:
Aksys games take my money!

Wait, game ending bug whaa? I thought I'd get the 3DS too, but since I just picked up a Vita I'll go for that instead.

In for one. Figure I'll flip the watch on ebay for $55ish and essentially get the game for free. I don't even own a Vita yet, but I will down the road.

Ugh, I didn't need an excuse to spend money on another game but this just gave me one. Just ordered the Vita version. I had heard about it before but thanks for reminding me about that game breaking bug on the 3DS version so that made the choice easy.
What's the best color to get?
Doesn't matter, the watch is horrible quality. Like something you'd get in a happy meal in 1998.

Will most likely sell it then. It's like getting a free game + $20.

Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks rate up! (If that there possible here.) :applause:

Er, where can you choose your color?
3dS is sold out. Vita at 88
It will probably become painfully obvious to me once you say it, but how do you check what the current stock is? Is it just on the mobile version of the site?

PS: Thanks to the OP for the heads up.

I agree. Even if you did not compare the quality of the first watch with 999 to this one, you still would feel cheated...

The 999 I would have actually paid real money for. The watch with this one is of no real quality.

I don't want to be one of those crybaby gamers that whines about the free stuff that comes with the games I buy, but I mean, cmon. I have the watch from 999, and that one was just great. I understand they had to make a lot more because of this being on two different platforms, but I would've been fine with a smaller run of watches if it meant the quality would've been a bit better.

Then again, it's not like I actually wear either of these. Looks a lot better if you keep it in the case it came with.

I picked up the Vita version as well. 24 Copies left.
So the vita version is a lot better than the 3DS and it doesn't have the saving glitch? That's what I'm worried about mostly.

Yes, absolutely no reason to get it for 3DS if you have a Vita. I played through the whole game on Vita and had no issues whatsoever.

I got one, thanks Confoosious...quick question though...how did you find this listing? when I search for it on amazon nothing comes up...I can only see the regular listing without the preorder bonus...

@Tommy: Apparently the glitches/bugs are 3DS only and it was a bug that transferred over from the Japanese 3DS release.

Vita has no such glitch as far as I know.

I would still like to be able to play both 999 and VLR on the same console.

I'll field this... when you get the item in your cart, put in, say 999 (see what I did there?) and then hit update quantity. It will then fill in with whatever amount is left in stock. Unless they have a purchase limit of 2 per person or something like that.

p.s. thanks to the OP, I picked up a vita version to stash away until I actually get a vita. Don't have a 3ds either, and reading in this thread confirms my choice of vita as a good one.

The save-murdering glitch is in the Vita version as well, but it's incredibly rare. I put in about 45 hours into the Vita version and it never froze on me.

Wait what? I haven't heard of any reports of that.. I've put 60+ hours into it and haven't had anything like that happen to me. That's odd if true. Either way, if it does have the bug.. at least you can save to 3 slots.

Where did you hear this? I know the 3DS version has the save problem but I haven't heard any reports on the Vita version having any glitches.

There were a couple other threads on other boards, iirc. Everyone says it almost never happens and it should never freeze on you for anything, but the possibility of it happening is there. Although it's far more prevalent in the 3DS version.
