Gift Card Notes:  Please remember that eGift cards take about 20 days to be issued after the item ships and usually expire within about 90 days of issuance.  You should wait AT LEAST 20 days from the ship date before contacting Dell for missing cards.  Also, keep in mind that you may receive smaller gift cards (usually 5% of your order total) for the Dell Advantage Rewards program which is in addition to their advertised $15 or $25 gift cards.  Don't assume Dell is not giving you the full gift card amount simply because you receive a Dell Advantage Rewards gift card.  These are issued earlier than the promo gift cards.

DEAD DEALS:

Too much hassle it seems for this deal.
I thought that as well back when I thought you had to call to resolve GC issues. But really the best way is sending in email support, just a couple minutes and a little patience. I'd rather not have to deal with it either, but once you get on the train it is hard to get off. $15 to $25 back from new releases is a good deal. And half the time when they screw it up they will send you double GC.

it can be. For some pre-orders, they place a "pre-authorized" charge on a promo code you use to place the order, then charge the card the same amount when the item ships without ever removing the pre-authorization charge. In essence, they double charge you.

Dell is such a hassle for everything.

I agree they are a hassle but are you being charged twice for your purchase?

Yes, and it has happened multiple times. They put a pre-authorization charge when you place the order. They then charge you again when the item ships. The problem is they don't convert the pre-auth to a charge sometimes, which results in a double charge. I always have to call the gift card department and be on hold for 45 mins to get it sorted out.

That is freaking ridiculous I am going to go back and check my credit card statements to make sure I was not double charged.

I received an email from Dell today regarding the delay for No Man's Sky. It requested I go to my Order Status page for that order and click on the "Consent to this delay" link which then prompted me to fill in name and phone number and check off I'm consenting to further delays. If I didn't do so they would have canceled my order and it seemed like I had 24 hours to complete this task. So heads up to everyone who pre-ordered through Dell too.

Yeah, this is a very annoying process they do. Sometimes they'll even call you for a verbal authorization.

I doubt you were double charged. An authorization charge is not added to your balance, it is just placed to "reserve" the money. They may even roll it to keep it open if there is a long gap between order and release, Best Buy used to do that. It will fall off eventually, and never actually get added or have interest charged for it. Sucks if it is a debit card, but for a credit card it is normally fine (as long as you aren't right up against your limit). An authorization and a charge are different things.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't received the email, but I saw the same thing for my order.

Maybe it's automatically prompted after the second delay of an item.

I remember having to confirm for Uncharted 4's delay too. I think some people in the same boat claimed never getting a notice though and I can only assume their orders were never cancelled anyway.

I contacted dell last week for 8 missing gift cards. I received them all today. 😀 also price matched dead island during the weekend with expiring gift cards, got that in today, used the code to get riptide and locked in a amazon trade in for $20. Now to keep rolling these gift cards

Those pre Auth charges used to fall off, they no longer do. This is recent. Now they stick to your promo code and never fall off
Just saw your response.

I will no longer purchase from Dell anymore. The double charge on every order is criminal now that you can no longer get a hold of anyone in the correct department.

question, if I pre-ordered a game and paid for it entirely using my Dell GC, will they re-issue the gift card for me in case I cancelled the order (beofre the game releases)? If so, will this re-new the expiration date of the gift card I originally used?

I'm asking because it seems many have problems with Dell

thank you

Just received No Man's Sky.  That's another successful release date delivery for Dell.  It's nice to see they're getting more consistent with that.  This was not in a padded envelope or box, though, but it did come undamaged.

Uh...what?
Uh...what?
Yeah, I wasn't sure if that had been announced yet. I think I recall hearing it from somewhere, though. I didn't think there was much DLC for the game. Obviously, the listing is all screwed up since it shows the NES Classic in the pictures, so who knows what the real info is. Also, the price is wrong for NES Classic, so I tend to think it is for MGS.

wow, so that pretty much puts a nail in the coffin for buying games at BB....except like one title, Titanfall 2 and I guess Mafia III if you didn't order when the promo was up.

So many titles...

But I only see Final Fantasy XV Deluxe - X1, hopefully they add PS4 and standard.

$15

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age - PS4

Sometimes searching for stuff manually will find the item and you'll see the GC show up in cart (when a similar version is listed). You could also chat and ask them about it YMMV. Also, thanks for pointing out FF XII. I updated the OP.

Metal gear solid V didn't even have any single player dlc right? I only remembered the $3 quiet multiplayer dlc and a few $1 cosutumes. Guess they are really milking it or might add something extra. Maybe the missing 3rd chapter of the game, or the bonus bluray stuff from the CE.

I don't even know what they could do to make it "definitive" and justify a $50 price tag outside of adding something to the single-player.

I've got hundreds in dell advantage credit but I'm having trouble pulling the trigger. What do you guys do? Just eternally roll the 25 gcs? It's annoying enough having a couple hundred on each gc, I feel like it would suck to manage 10-20 at that small a dollar amount.

Just wanted to chime in that my e gift card expired a day early or because "I viewed it" I have had nothing but problems with Dell and wanted to warn others that the headache may not be worth it for their ridiculous promos and shady business practices.

Apparently all the pre-order gift card bonuses have gone away now. They are no longer listed as far as I can tell.
Looks like you could be correct. Very odd. I can confirm they were there as recently as this morning. I'm assuming this may be a temporary glitch or they are in the middle of a website update, but it's always possible they are making significant changes to their operations.

It is weird given some of those games do not come out for some time, although they cut off the bonus for No Man's Sky way before release.

I was looking to use some of my credit on Gear 4, but I'll wait a little and see if it comes back. If not then I'm off the train, I'll use them and be done.

I hope they are updating and part of it is putting PSVR and PS4 Pro up for pre-order. I want to use my credit and I'm going to wind up just getting a 1080 if they don't have something else soon.

Dell did just merge with EMC not that long ago so I suppose some things may be changing.

Oh man, that sucks.

Although I've lost count how many times I've had to contact Dell to get GCs that were never sent for all the August games I bought....not to mention trying to figure out which GCs sent were attached to what orders.

Every game that I bought on the mobile site and used 2 or 3 gift cards as payment never sent the $15/$25 GC or the Advantage GC.

Whereas the games I either bought on one gift card or split between one gift card and credit card [via desktop site], I got the GCs for those orders.

Dell is very weird and stuff disappears and reappears on their site all the time.  I have credit I was waiting to spend, so i'll be disappointed if the GC's don't come back, but I think they will.  Then again, i'd love to be finally free of these Dell shackles and move on with my life... :)

That's me. I'm mixed. Saved a good amount of money with it, but ordering can be a hassle at times when you have to chase your GC credit. And they never have pre-order bonuses if those are interesting for the game you want. It is literally the only reason I order from them, if they choose to do without it I would imagine their game sales will take a significant drop.

If the train ends, I'll use what I've got and call it done. With GCU and Prime you can still do pretty well.

Depending on what happens here, would any of you guys be interested in some Dell advantage GCs? I have a few that are pending but I think I've got about $800 across 3 or 4 of them.

I'd say the pre-order gift cards are probably gone for good (unless they start up new offers) and not just a website error.  They have not only removed them from the listing above the page, but the links going to it also have the reference to gift cards removed.  Kind of funny they still have Mighty No. 9 listed among the pre-orders still.

Looks like the exit ramp is here.

This really sucks after working so hard to get my $25 Overwatch GC, which expires in November. Heads up if you are looking to get off the GC train now (or be forced to) since PS+ membership will increase in price on September 22nd, giving you a week to unload on those if you want.

I was thinking about buying DLC and season passes, since those never go on sale and I don't think GCU works on it. But it just so happens that they don't have the Star Wars Battlefront Season pass for PS4, only the Xbone and PC versions. Is it a glitch not showing up, or do they have exclusivity like with the XBL cards? This is some BS, Dell is so disorganized that they can't even keep their products straight. I don't even see how it's possible to only miss selling the PS4 version of that.

You're clearly a Dell noob to be complaining about such things. :)

Here's the MGSV: DE listing for your amusement. It's been this way for awhile and only recently corrected the main picture for the boxart.

To specifically answer your question, it's only recent that Dell has begun selling any digital codes at all, so don't count on anything for PS4 being available anytime soon. For whatever reason, Dell has always carried Microsoft currency cards and rarely had PSN currency cards.

You're right, I got my hopes up thinking that the one item I want and would be willing to pay MSRP for would be on their site.

I have been on this thread since you made it though, in face I am like the #7 post on the first page.

Yeah, I thinking for a while they didn't even have the XBL currency cards, and I think they canceled the PSN ones a long, long time ago. So when they bought back the XBL ones, I was hoping they would bring back the PSN ones too. I guess I just put too much hope into this company.

And you know what else? Confirming my suspicions... they don't even have the PS+ subscription cards anymore. Unbelievable... I bought them from Dell just back in March. There's almost nothing to unload a gift card on now that's worth it, maybe the Dualshock 4 for $50, or if you price match something. It'll probably be another hassle though.

It is kind of funny that they still have the pre-order games partitioned into what used to be $15 and $25 GC sections, complete with games that have already come out.  They just blew away any reference to it, including on the pages that link to it.  Taking the hint and hopping off the train now, got some GC expiring soon, so just going to clear it out.  Pretty much the only reason to order games (and put up with non-padded envelopes and having to call half the time to get your GC) from Dell is now gone.

Edit: Oh and by the way, the pre-order games seem to have completely vanished from the deals page on the mobile site as well.  Went to use my GC, and had to find them using Search.

Used all 20 of my $15 gift cards today. Sad to see this end. Hopefully it comes back, I have a feeling they took the promo gift cards away due to all the glitches.

Hello, so I used one gift card to pre-order a game that won't be released until later in the year, will I still be able to cancel the order and use that GC toward fifa 17?

Thank you in advance!
