Destiny (PS3/PS4) Official Thread

Off Topic, Does anyone know of a good blog site, i would rather post my destiny diary on a blog site every day instead of having to re-edit a page on here. I really dont know what blogging sites are good, free, and possibly put my twitter posts on the side of it. Any help?

Also i cant seem to find where i go to edit my forum signature.

PS i can still do the deathsinger twice and crota on hard three times for more chances at exotics. Though the only one i really want is the monte carlo!

You both got very lucky... from 2 NF, 2 deathsingers, 2 crota NM and 1 corta HM the only exotic I got was last word :bs:

One of my friends got dragon's breath, two more got the hard light and other got the suros... as seven said it would be really helpful if we all post what exotic weapons we get every week because although it has not been confirmed I really believe that there is a weekly exotic weapon pool (this week I've seen various hardlights and last words).

Yeah, can't really complain, but all I really care for is the Ghorn. We did take Crota on normal 3 times, 3 times Atheon and 3 times Gorgon Chest.

= 1 better version of "Against all Odds" machine gun I already had, rest was junk

I got Truth, Hard Light, 4th Horseman, 2 Black Hammers, a VoC, an Atheon's Ep and a Fatebringer yesterday. All 3 nightfalls were garbage rewards. Like 7, I still have Deathsinger x2 and HM Crota x3 left.

So it seems that 4th horseman, hardlight and last word are regular drops this week...

 
Quite the night last night.  

Pillaged the gorgon chest 3x for one exotic shard (formerly IceBreaker, still can't believe I did it, I love IB)

Ran two VoG's from GK - Atheon, for shards, ships, sparrows and armor :/

Did one Nightfall for another exotic shard (Last Word)

Thought I was done when another friend asked me to fill out his Crota team.

Took out Crota 3x and finally pulled a Fang... yay me! :D/   Rest of the rewards were just mats and another Word of Crota.  At least I saw the crux drop during each run.  I had only seen it once during all my prior runs.

Still have a bunch of random things to do like weekly's, NF's and at least Deathsinger cp's (for that last exotic chance).

Just message if you see me on.  I'll be playing Destiny, but I'm always switching between the PS4 and PS3 versions

 
Another week where our sixth member hasn't received a Crux. I think we're about to say screw it as everybody else had already received two Crux's at least four weeks ago. It just doesn't want us to stop running this piece of shit hard mode, heh. We don't even run the full raid anymore, just switch out two people for another Deathsinger checkpoint and do the second and third run from there. I'm pretty sure we all have 250-350 radiant materials by now.

 
Rank 19 with New Monarchy and got a strange coin! 19 ranks and still no shader. :(

Did the deathsinger and got a Dragons Breath, but i already have three lol. That makes 7 exotics this week and still have 3 hard mode crotas to do.

Hard Croat full run tonight was loot heavy. Not counting materials I got gauntlets, pulse rifle, chest, auto rifle, Titan skirt, scout rifle, sparrow, thunder lord....still no crux :(

First thunderlord and sparrow...the rest I have tons of. I am going to level the chest because it has pulse ammo instead of auto rifle...rip auto rifles

I might do vog for a gjally chance but prolly will just casually level my warlock...

3 Nightfalls and finally got a third No Land Beyond for my titan and a Glasshouse helmet which inevitably became a shard. I also got a Last Word from the Death singer. 

Another week goes by and the hunt for the illusive Black Hammer continues. I have caught glimpses of the mysterious beast scroll by the corner of my left eye but faith has decreed it was not mine to have this week. I will travel into the Hellmouth next week in hopes of finally capturing the black hammer. The screams of the abyss haunts my souls and I am not sure how long I can continue this endless dance with Crota.

 
Anyone  ever download the audio app for Destiny???

Just got some silver headsets and it mentioned some specialized audio settings for Destiny... just didn't know if they're accessible from somewhere in-game or if I go to the PS store to download it.

BTW, are they only compatible with the silver/gold headsets or any headsets.

 
It's in the psn store, it's a headphone app and it has some custom eq settings you can import including one for destiny..

So I've become the "sword guy" for a group I've been regularly playing with, after having done 3 normal kills and then my first* HM kill earlier tonight. Was a LOT of fun, and after doing a dozen+ CE runs as a rocketeer...it was FAR less stressful IMO.

*first time as sword bearer

I have absolutely no idea why people are so afraid of using it, same goes for the VoG relic. Same group I had just done back-to-back CE runs, normal > hard, couldn't quite finish up a Gatekeeper Hardmode checkpoint in VoG due to no one else being comfortable/familiar with the relic. I think it's a lot of fun to use, especially using the lunge/R2 attack to fly around....but for some reason I find that most folks don't want to touch the thing with a 30 foot pole.

That's not to say the group I was running with was incompetent (far from it, those guys rock), just interesting to me that regardless of how many times people will run these raids....some folks just don't bother with some of the non-shooty mechanics. At least I find it strange, I ran a Warrior/Tank build in most MMO's I've played in the past, so I'm used to being "the guy who does the important thing" I guess.

Yeah, I feel exactly the same way using the sword and the relic isn't hard at all! in the VoG case maybe a little more in the templar fight but in the atheon fight you just have to kill three minions and cleanse, that's it! it's far more responsibility to kill oracles or to clean the outside from harpies, but at least (in the case of my group) if you pick up the relic and die your are pointed at and accused of being the responsible of the wipe (because picking up the relic is so easy that should be foolproof)... in the case of the sword bearer is a different story, it looks like that if you die you are guilt free and I hate that because there are a lot of enthusiast that want to pick up the sword suck at timing and for some reason are sooooo hard to be removed because HE IS the sword bearer, so when I'm in a group where the relic carrier or the swordbearer die two times (and it's their fault) they are intermediately forbidden to pick up the relic or the sword... this way people are more careful and don't feel like they are free to fail.

I'm definitely not an expert with the sword by any means, i spent a good hour last night attempting to run sword for an alt run and failed miserably. Was on my Warlock for the first (good) run, but using my Titan I kept getting swiped right on the third down (we've had success with a Weapon of Light bubble + 3 downs). This was due to my dodge timing, Crota's positioning during my escape, or everyone's favorite "random other problem" (like the distracted boomer tower suddenly taking interest in me).

So yeah, it's certainly not without it's risk, but it's also far removed from the rocket surgery some people treat it as.

Killed Atheon on my warlock today to finish up all of my exotic drop chances for the week. I got a Vex and Mida's from Atheon, a No Land Beyond from Crota, and a Skull of Dire Ahamkara from a Nightfall. The skull and Helm of Saint-14 were the only exotic armor pieces I didn't have in one form or another coming into this week. I was pretty excited when I saw the leaked Xur items last week. Of course this game would wait until the week Xur is bringing it to drop the Skull for me. It did have better stats than the one Xur had though and I have been wanting Saint-14 for a while now, so I was pretty happy with Xur this week.

 
How did no one mention the Helm of Saint 14 and the heavy ammo synths Xur is selling this week? I thought it would it a little praise over here at least!

Because all the info was leaked ahead of time so we all knew what he'd have early. ;) Same goes for next week's inventory and the nightfall. (SPOILER: It's the Priest with triple burn.)

 
Hey I was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me get the Flawless raider trophy for the PS4? I put in a lot of hours into destiny so i might as well try for the platinum.

 
Got my 9th exotic gun this week when the Hawkmoon dropped for me in Crota hard run.

Also leveled up all 3 factions today, New Monarchy to 21, and 6, still no shader or ship. Dead Orbit to 28 and nothing good.

I've leveled up NM >100 times between all my characters and still only have 3 out of the 4 shaders, plus one faction ship.

 
Is the fastest way to get some purple gear for a new character to grind away in strikes? My vanguard mark supply and rank is too low to buy them yet. I'm about to be 28 with blue boots and gloves...maybe I can find someone to cheese me through the first couple parts of crota and hope for a drop...

Don't grind for marks, it's a waste this late into the DLC. Just do CE NM, and if worse comes to worse, do VoG. If you don't get the gauntlets or boots, then you can at least do the Eris quest to get the gauntlets.

Also, since you specifically said "new character" my formula for leveling up my last character, a Hunter, was to save all the blues between my characters and open them on my hunter at level 20 to get blue armor with light on it, then do VoG to get some armor drops, then do CE. It was significantly quicker to do that than to grind rep and marks.

 
Yeah I already had purple and exotic helmets and dresses for my warlock but just didnt end up with boots or gloves. I got eris done but didnt have time to get all the steps of the urn done before xur left. I didnt want to wait until next weekend to get to 30-31. I'll get on lfg and see if I can get a pity invite to crota normal. Thanks for the info...Its been awhile since I leveled a character. I did the story through venus and then did the eris stuff. Didnt even set foot on mars yet except for strike playlist.

 
If anyone you know plays a titan, just have them solo the first part of the raid. It'll take them 3 minutes, tops. Just jump on the rock at the second lamp then, using codex II, VI and increased height, jump to the upper layer of the map and form the bridge out of the abyss. If you manage to hit 28 and have an Icebreaker, you can have the titan fly over the bridge and stand behind the pillar to the left (in front of the sync plate) and you can just slowly snipe adds as they go AFK or something. Armor doesn't drop on Ir Yut and only a helmet drops on Crota (with a very low drop rate on normal) so you could just stop there. 

But at your level you could also just do VoG NM/HM and pray for some armor drops in there as well. Although they are light level 30, it'll be quicker to get to 31 (and eventually 32) by using a mixture of Eris/CE/VoG/Exotic armor than it would to grind the rep, marks and commendations required to get vanguard/crucible armor. 

One more thing, save Mars story missions for EXP. Once you get armor to level up, you'll want to do all the missions on the hardest heroic difficulty so you can level the gear up quickly.

Man the laggy PvP in this brings out a different person in me every time I play it. Sorry to those who have had to suffer through my BS like 7, Jimmy and Mars.

 
Got on LFG and posted that I had a new character that was 27 and I would like to run it on the first two parts of crota and then I could switch and help finish and a group invited me almost right away. I got boots and went from 27 to 29. When we got to crota I switched to my 32 to help out since we had another 29 in the group. Then we did VOG and I got boots again LOL...again I switched to my 32 at Atheon.  So I made some progress thanks to the kindness of strangers. Picked up another Suros in the exotic chest.

In this particular case, it ended up being my router. I was initially concerned because last weekend people were getting Marionberry errors on such a massive scale, it was clearly on Bungie's end.

On a side note, I have been trying to get a group for JUST a Normal Crota kill for my 31 hunter...and literally zero bites on destinylfg. Guess I'll just have to hope next reset I'll get raid boots and be able to bump him up to 32...

Even after adding I could run the sword, people must be avoiding 31's like the plague nowadays.

LFG is really a crap shoot some days you get in games so fast and others you send 5 or 6 messages and get no bites. 

Usually for regular people only care about a 32 sword dude...and gjallyhorns of course cause no one ever downed crota without that LOL

 
Yup got 10 shards, Purifier VII, and 10 strange coins for nightfalls this week. I got a feeling this week is going to be horrible for me, since i got 9 exotics last week. And i bet at least one more person in my fireteam will get the monte carlo at some point during a raid. Because the game knows its the only gun i need, so give it to everyone else!

 
Just Monte Carlo for me so far. I did get a RL with tracking, holds 2 shells and Field Scout as well as the Mask Of The Third Man for my other two Nightfalls.

2 shells and field scout is almost redundant (except for the extra reserve), tracking is decent
 
I feel your pain 7th. I have 3 exotic weapons that I still need: Monte Carlo, Red Death, and 4th Horseman. Last week I gave the gorgon chest checkpoint to my friend and watched as one of his friends hopped in and pulled a Monte Carlo. Then I saw the 4th Horseman drop for 4 different people between Ir Yut and Crota in the same run. A few weeks ago I saw Red Death drop for 3 people.

My exotics for this week after Gorgon chest x 3, Nightfall x 3, Deathsinger x 3, and Crota (Normal) x 3: No Land Beyond (from Crota) and Hard Light (from Nightfall). Hard Light was a seemingly common exotic drop a few weeks ago when I got 2 of them and lots of others got it as well. Vendetta said one of his friends also got it this week so maybe it has made its return to the "secret" exotic loot table for the week. The funny thing was I had just finished maxing one out earlier in the day. It really isn't a very good gun. If I'm going to run with a non-elemental exotic primary it is going to be Bad Juju for the auto-reload. Or Mida Multitool for the speed boost and range (and cool sound ;)).

Vendetta and I are both looking for Red Death and that thing just never drops for us. And Suros for me as well. Of course have to wait till September for the rest of those (the PS exclusives).

And once again, no Hunger of Crota for me. I have to be pushing 30-40 Normal mode clears at this point without getting that stupid thing. Yet I got like my 6th Black Hammer and 4th or 5th Light of the Abyss last night. The only two things I need from Crota at this point are that and the stupid Hunter class item which also just doesn't want to drop (though I noticed the drop rate on class items for Crota is way smaller than it was for VoG).
