Destiny (PS3/PS4) Official Thread

I think trials broke me this time.  Sadly, its the only thing I look forward to doing in Destiny.  I think all the casuals were in Iron Banner this time around.

 
Nightfall is hella fast if you have 3 dudes...

Symbiote helmet again, purple scout, purple engram...we actually all 3 got a purple special engram on the last one lol.

 
Plan C, Mask of the Third Man (worse stats than the one I have), Special Weapon Engram.

jumped into a Crota raid w/ Tukai, watched his friend solo Crota, got another Black Hammer and another Truth.

 
Well I tried to log in last night and get my Lock to IB r3, and lost literally every single round for about 6 games in a row. Complete lag fest, and pants-on-head retarded team mates.

Someone on my team kept switching spawns, or they would just camp the point nearest to initial spawn. Or there would be a team of 3+ people on the opposing team, with at least 1 or more inivicble/red-bar, which in-turn made the rest of their fireteam invincible.

Every. Single. Time.

I gave up and started quitting out of matches after I was at 5/5 coins, and kept getting put into matches that were already 5k points behind. In the end, I still didn't even hit rank 3.

Decided to stick to my guns and not login today, as part of the "supposed" protest of Bungie Day. I say "supposed", because Reddit (where it originated afaik) decided to pussy out and featured zero discussion about it when I checked this afternoon. Coupled this with the new emblem thing for feats of strength?

And guess what? The game seems to only count my Titan's progress for the Golden Chests, and the game decided to fuck me out of one of the Mars chests, because it's STILL glitched for me and I can't actually pick it up. So I'm 19/20 forever on the final Feat.

I did nightfall 2 man with someone x3 cause I was bored. He got a purple engram, last word, and dragons breath. I got some glimmer.

6 nightfalls in one day lol

 
I leveled up New Monarchy and FWC this morning and got 2 motes and 1 strange coin.

Played some Clash to get a few quick bounties done and one game we lost 6880 - 10105. I had the top score for our team.

The7thNumber - 17 - 9

2nd place 9 - 15

3rd place 9 - 14

4th place 7 - 12

5th place 5 - 14

6th place 4 - 12

If these events arent telling me to play Batman, i dont know what else could convince me. I really dont have anything else to do, so i AM going to finally start batman. I dont even know if i want to do trials this weekend. They are selling helmets with garbage stats and the shotgun which doesnt look all that great. So maybe ill just pop destiny back in next tuesday.

 
Would anyone be willing to day a 35 POE Friday evening or anytime on Saturday/Sunday? I have the VOG HM scheduled tonight and Crota HM scheduled for Thursday. It would be me and Deon Snares plus you. You wouldn't have to carry us or anything, but if youve completed it before just your knowledge would be helpful. I had no plans to do 35, but would like to get that emblem.

A buddy helped me out with a norm Crota run, since he knows I'm still hunting Black Hammer.  And it drops :D/ ...  for him (sigh).

So, the gold chest Triumph tracker...  I'm guessing that it's only looking at whichever toon has collected the most gold chests.

I grabbed a couple of chests on my titan last night, which I know I had collected before, just on a different toon.  That toon, BTW, happened to be my old main titan that I crushed in order to make my hunter.

Oh and I got the gold sparrow from collecting the 5th chest in the Cosmodrome.  Never realized that it was a spinner... kinda like a mini-Tumbler only slower and not as much fun.

Anyway, down to 6 chests (3 on Venus, 3 on Mars)

 
I got my first hate-mail from another Destiny player whilst playing PVP tonight.

Apparently myself, Frosty, and Dead Batteries are all try-hard scrubs who can't not use Thorn to be is as good to compete *smiley face*.

Or some such similar nonsense.

I see you played 10% of batman...or 10% of achievements? 

I'm just so stoked on revenant...and a DO chest piece in one package...almost makes up for all those ones with just a mote or coin...almost...if they give me the ship I'll forgive them.

 
Thats 10% of trophies, just started it yesterday.

Congrats on revenant, thats the best DO shader. Seems like everyone likes it on their warlock. So use it on the titan or hunter. ;)

 
DO is my hunter's jam...I picked them because the guns looked the coolest. I started with my hunter so he has way more game time than the other two and their factions. I got a second bittersteel at 32 or so and now at 34 I got the one I wanted to begin with. I dont level nearly as fast as you did since I dont do pvp most of the time so I dont do those bounties except for during IB and then I wear the IB stuff for the buff.

So I have 2 DO shaders at 34, 1 FWC at 23, and 1 NM at 15...not too bad. I want the rest of the shaders and ships so I guess I keep wearing my faction schwag awhile longer.

Would anyone be willing to play through the Level 32 Prison of Elders on Friday or Saturday? I'd be using my Titan or Hunter. Need armor core to get boots for Warlock.

I'm a combined 76 or so on two characters for Dead Orbit and I still have not gotten Revenant. I have all the others and 2 of the ships. As soon as I get revenant I can finally move to New Monarchy. But I'm not leveling up the factions nearly as much as I used to as I don't really bother with the bounties much any more. I used to try to run bounties every day to level up those factions but getting to 76+ with no revenant to show for it just proves that was a waste of time ;).

Ah... stranger hate mail. I remember my 1st one, though it wasn't for killing someone too much. Instead, the guy was pissed that I had 0 kills 0 deaths and 0 assists but was the only player to get trials coins.

Like it's my fault the game dumped me into an existing match that was about to end, LOL.

I couldn't help myself and responded... "HaHa, U Care!", hoping the "Nelson" tone came thru loud and clear

This week 32 sucks ass. Not really worth it man...Stupid bubble boy. I was helping someone and after two tries they wanted to quit so I left and did weeklies. Just do 32 on easy weeks and hold the cores until he gets what you want again. I've got an armor core and 4 weapon cores in my vault...there really is not anything worthwhile to spend them on :(

 
Yup,this week's 32 is skip-worthy.  Spend that time on Skolas or hell, do the 34 and use the Etheric Light on armor

 
Apparently Lord of Wolves +Party HP regen perk triggers on the detainment bubbles during the Qodron fight, effectively removing any need to look for his glowy-goblin minion.

Just sayin.

:whistle2:/ That's the problem. I made the character last week and have nothing at all to ascend. Already have Etheric Light.

What's so hard about the 32 this week? Doesn't look any harder than usual.

It's Qodron this week (ie last weeks 34). Lots of people still have trouble with him (even after the hot fix). It's possible to get out of the enclosure if you have a shotgun or sniper without needing to hunt for the eye. We start by using Gjally as soon as we run out and head left and hide behind the pillars/rocks when heavy ammo runs out. This should have him down quite a bit (if not dead already).

Ah... well that changes things doesn't it.

It's not that the Quodron battle is hard, but rather that it takes too long (if you fight it the legit way). And I'd rather put that kinda time in on something else like Skolas.

If you can burn him in the beginning with Gjallarhorn, then it's cake. But going thru the designed fight mechanics (Jailbreaker, Detainment bubbles) slows things down quite a bit.

Pre and Post patch, the best way to fight him is for everyone to unload ALL their gally shots, reload and unload on him again.

The alternative is to have at least two players running shotguns (Invective is really helpful here) and the third should (hopefully) be someone who has gally. Shotgunners are responsible for taking out the bubbles while the 3rd always saves gally for the boss.

Ooh... just saw that Xur has Purifier Robes.  Gimme, gimme, gimme :bouncy: .  No clue if it's good/bad roll, don't care.  I want it for the collection.

Now, I'll just need Bones of Eos (I think) to finish off all exotics.

BTW, quick reminder for any of you doing PoE...

Remember to equip your PoE armor if it has a perk for particular enemies; the Fallen armor perks in particular when fighting Skolas.  Did that last night after a wipe and it really does make things easier.

 
Finished two VoG HM and two Crota HM this week. No Fatebringer (for anyone), No Exotics, No Crux.....Destiny knows that I won't need to raid much (if ever) if I get them.

Well atleast someone got the damn thing. I have yet to actually see the word "Fatebringer" show up on my screen as a drop. Good to know that it's actually dropping. One of the people in my Cota Fireteam got the Crux. This was only the 2nd time I have seen it drop.
 
Still desperately hoping to run through the Level 32 Prison of Elders this weekend. Would be playing with Level 34 Titan with Helm of Saint-14, max Gjallarhorn, Ice Breaker, Vision of Confluence, Fatebringer, etc. I need that damn armor core before the reset.

My schedule this weekend is more open than usual. I am willing to help you out with something else in return for helping me beat this.
