I see this game kept one trait from the others that irked me: The fact that it takes awhile to get the 4th badge and thus have my above lvl 30 Pokemon obey me. I'm on my way to getting my 3rd badge, and my highest is already lvl 21, so I have to be careful not to overlevel and run the risk of my Pokemon disobeying me.

I have never had that problem. Maybe it is just my personal playing style. Anyway, this time I think I actually may have that problem. I have only two badges but my Pokemon are getting high!

wait, are you guys using traded pokemon? isn't it that your own pokemon obey you regardless of badge... controlling is only for traded ones (as they don't respect you as the 'catcher'?)

WTF doods, why are there more water pokemon than ice pokemon in the ice gym and more rock pokemon than steel in the steel gym, it left me a little confused

i remember switching the order of my moves (top two = most used / attacks, bottom two = support abilities) using select in the old games... is it just me or can you not do that anymore? i hate it when each time my pokemon learn something, i have to wait till i'm out of battle to reorder my moveset.
it really grinds my gears...

Yeah, it was a couple of pages back, but I expressed how I found the male sprite to be ugly. In addition, I only planned to beat this game once and be done with it. So I went ahead and picked the girl and named her after her name in the anime (I'm creative...). However, it turned out this game was addicting so I'm regretting it right now.

Right. So I'm wondering if spending my $50 credit at GC, to ultimately spend $115 on a DS Lite + the game is worth it? I sold my original DS Lite because I hardly played the damn thing, I'm also considering a PSP because of the price cut...

I just don't wanna go oujt, spend the $115 and then be disappointed by it is all.

well, i've made use of it...i couldnt catch a psyduck and really wanted one, so i traded an onix for a kricket, then traded the kricket for the psyduck..now i'm happy
i guess it prevents people from starting out with powerful pokes at the beginning...so instead of limiting certain pokes, they just limited it to whichever you've seen before in-game

I have not even tried that thing but it sure does sound useless. If you need to capture a Pokemon to get it in your Pokedex, and that is the only way to can get it in a trade...then what is the point!

I just wish it was in list format, instead of gimmicky use of the touch screen. I search for everyone with blahblah up and it shows me a list of all of them, the second colomn shows what they want, click the selection for more detail.
you don't need to catch it to see it in your pokedex, only see it.

That is how I thought it was because that is how it always was, but I remember reading a post in this thread that said that it has changed. I have actually not checked my Pokedex yet so I am just going off of what others have said.

I don't think it's that you have to capture it. I think you just need to see it either in the wild or in a trainer battle. Remember that as long as you see one, it goes in your Pokedex.

Unless some random trainer in the game uses them, looks like there would be no way to request them.
